Rainy Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Thursday

Postby ali1257 » Thu Sep 16, 2010 4:57 am

Good morning Ladies:

Woke up just before 2:00 a.m. and just can't get back to sleep so thought I would do some catch up reading here on the forum. Sitting in the quiet of the bone yard listening to the rain fall. Very peaceful.

Sounds like everyone is busy and moving forward in life. The GTG sounds like a blast. Am hoping to connect with some of you once we start doing some traveling once we are done with the carnival season. Only 11 days to go + tear down for Ron.

We are so enjoying our time with the carnival. Have been asked to come back next year. We need to do some talking and figuring and will give Rob (our boss) our answer before we leave Puyallup.

Met a family who is on the road full time with 14 year old triplets. They follow my blog. It was fun to meet up with them here at the fair. We stood in the rain and talked for about 45 minutes. They have been to 37 states in the last 9 months of traveling.

Then spent a couple of hours walking around the fair checking out some different vendors then came back to the motor home and had a delicious dinner of pork roast with sliced onions and bell peppers.

Today is another day in Customer Service. So far the last week has gone smoothly...only told to F myself by a smart alec kid who wanted his money back (we don't give refunds just because you are tired of riding the rides). Otherwise things are going well at the CS window.

Well I guess I should try to get a few more minutes of shut eye so will hop off here for now. Will check in later to see how things are going with you all.

GOOD MORNING ALI AND ALL!

It has been so much fun following yours and Ron's adventures with the carnival this year! If you do it again, I will look forward to reading about it!

The temperature was 38 when I woke up, and it's now up to 41. It's another cloudy day, and is supposed to rain this afternoon. My friend, Kathy, has to fly back to CA this afternoon, and it will be lonely here again. But, worse than that, I will have to resume my "chores" around here, and my "tasks" from my lists.

We will leave here at a little after two as her flight leaves Lake Clear Airport at about 3:30, and she's supposed to get there an hour early. I don't think they enofrce that hour rule at that tiny airport, but one never knows!

Other than that schedule today, there is nothing on the list of things to do. Yesterday we spent the day at the Wild Place Museum in Tupper Lake, which has improved immensely since I was last there during the grand opening. I tried to take some pics of the otters in their enclosure, but haven't looked at them yet----they were as fast as quick-silver, and I think all my pics are blurry. If I find a good one, I will post it!

Coffee time here, and I will go do some last minute visiting with Kathy before she has to leave. Happy Thursday to you all!

Happy travels!

Good to hear from you Ali and that your season with the carnival went well and you have the option of returning. Soos, so glad you had a great visit with your friend Kathy it is sad for visits like those to be over.
I am feeling a bit better after the massage yesterday. I can move my neck a little better but the place in my back still objects to my arms being lifted much above my waist for any period of time. My sweet cousin sent over some Italian Beef for our dinner for which I was very grateful.
The dogs say their breakfast is past due & since they have me well trained guess I need to get with it.

Soos, that is the same way with ferrets! Have a heck of a time taking pics of them! There is a second or two of lag time on my camera from when I push the shutter button and when the picture gets taken, and by then the ferrets are long gone!

I am sure your friend has a lot to deal with when she gets home too. Hope everything works out good for her.

Tomorrow I am getting my car checked over, going to the dentist to get a couple of fillings, and then my friend's husband is coming over to pick up my aquarium and fish, and some guy is coming over to pick up my bedroom set. So alot going on tomorrow! Have Saturday off too, so will start going thru the rest of my stuff and getting rid of things, either to the garbage, Goodwill, or to my dad's for storage. Time is running out! Less than two weeks left!

Just as a backup, I decided to send out my resume on-line to some Great Clips salons up in Temecula/Murrieta area of California (between Palm Springs and San Diego) to see if they are hiring. Got an e-mail back last night from a guy who owns 11 salons in that area. He is very interested in me and says he always has opening in one or more of his salons and they are all very busy! He is also opening up several more in that area soon. So I will meet with him when I get out there as well. Good to have options! Have never been up to that area before but hear it is beautiful and very mild weather all year. I am not sure now where Linda is going to end up since her Joshua Tree job fell thru, so I want to make sure I have a job and place to live right away after I get out there. Now I can sleep better knowing I have lots of options! (I think Sharon lives up in that area too).

Better get back to my list of things to do here before I have to go to work. Have a good day, stay safe, dry, warm and happy!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon all. Had a "cold" front pass through last night which will give us "cooler" temps in the high 80's today and back to the low 90's for the rest of the week. I am so ready for cooler temps, but not as cold as Soos is getting. I also had another leak in the pipes (really a hose) going into the guest bathroom. This time I placed a small block of wood between the hose and the real pipe. Will see if this stops the leaks as I think the hose is resting on the pipe and it is hot and melting the hose. With the excessive heat we have had this summer, the pipes have been really hot to the touch, I think I'll place a block of wood in the other spots also. Will see if this theory pans out. Linda
