WET TUESDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WET TUESDAY MORNING

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Sep 07, 2010 6:46 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

The kids are back at school today----in fact, Saranac Lake schools had kids last Friday, too. Am I sorry to not be there? Absolutely NOT! September proves to be a fun month for me this year for the first time since I was 3 years old, as I started school when I was 4.

I did some grocery shopping yesterday, picked up a prescription, visited with my neighbor, and actually did little else other than wash a load of bedsheets to put into my new storage containers I got for that purpose.

It is about 56 degrees here in the trailer this morning, and raining softly. The forecast is for sun this afternoon, so maybe I can get more staining done if it dries out. If not, the under-the-kitchen-cabinet sorting of 'stuff' is always there, waiting for me! I will also make up some chili for when my friend, Kathy, arrives from CA on Saturday morning. She is due to have a lung biopsy today, and I am thinking of her, and hoping for good news. The CT scan does not look good, however-----perhaps Gilbert has moved to a new host? Please let it not be so....let him just be dead. I am also making some apple crisp today with my old wild apple tree fruits. It is loaded with apples this year, as the deer have already discovered, and it's a challenge to pick some before they drop off into their mouths!

In the meantime, I am sipping coffee, taking my own sweet time to read email and Facebook and a couple of forums, and then leisurely get dressed. Last year I was well into my school day, and morning announcements were on the PA system. Stop by and let us know what's up in your world. I have no mice to release this morning! My banking stuff and mailing has to be done today, as yesterday was a holiday and everything was closed. I am rambling!

Coffee is hot! Happy Tuesday!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Soos, that is one of the reasons we love retirement so...we get to ramble  Who had time before? :) Isn't it fun? Some time the "side roads" and "side tracks" in our minds....are the most interesting places... enjoy today! :)

Morning Soos, Tina, and everyone! For whatever unknown reason I have a relatively normal connection this morning so will take advantage to check in! Usually always keep up with your posts on my iPhone though.

It's been a nice cool summer for us here. Only a few days over 100, wow, what a treat!

My DD and DGD came out to visit for almost three weeks in August. It was great fun. Now I am looking forward to heading back to Austin in Nov to spend the holidays with them too.

It's peach and fig time in my Dad's garden. So yummy. I 'processed' peaches Sunday morning for his freezer. Step Mom made the perfect peach cobbler for our Labor Day Barbecue. Tomatoes are slowing down, but were heavenly this year too. Probably due to cooler temps.

It's been a lovely summer, but fall in the mountains is my favorite. I'm looking forward to a trip to Crater Lake next week. (to make up for missing the gtg!! :)

Here's hoping to talk to ya'll again soon!

Cold and blustery today! Very windy, cloudy and 54 degrees. Won't even hit 60 today. (What a difference a week makes! It was in the upper 80's and humid last week!) So looking forward to warm, sunny California!

Tomorrow I have my annual physical. I am going to ask for a flu shot and a whooping cough vaccination. California has an epidemic of whooping cough right now and if I am going to be working with the public, especially kids, I need to be vaccinated.

Got some phone calls to make this morning before I head off to work.

Hope you all stay safe and warm and cozy today!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning Ladies, it is in the 60s this morning and will be 81 later... had to put that 1 in... this is the wind down for sure... summer is fading fast...

No mouse in my trap this morning... guess they really don't like cheese... will put peanut butter in today maybe they will like that better... Shadow acts like there is one as he keeps tracking on the carpet and in the kitchen also... so will put another trap under the sink... maybe I need a cat! :o

I am going to drive out to Comlara today and pick out a spot for a couple of weeks from now... that gives me time to put things in the MH and vacuum it out... while I am out I need to get some wood glue... the glue I had was in a bottle and I could not push the sides in... I did get enough to fix one drawer... I also put some fine nails in the back to be sure it holds... I will get some quarter round that they use for model building as larger would not fit and glue that around the three sides will nail that in also... after is sets for a day I can put things in them...

I had the tv on while I was putzing around and they had the absolutely worse shows on with dirty dirty houses... wow I guess mine at it's worse didn't even come close... Wow I would never want to show anyone not even my best friend let alone the world what it looked like yuckie... I think I like the Hallmark channel marathons better... one of my most favorite TV shows is in it's last season 'Little People Big World' I so enjoyed that program...

Coffee is cold so need to get a new cup... I trust you are all having a super day... and those of you at work enjoy the pay day...

Rainy day and was as stormy night.
Had great friends over last night for dinner and football...and wow what a game it was...had me on the edge of my seat and this house got very loud. GO BRONCO NATION!!
I grew up just outside Boise and our family is blue blood BSU fans...been a fan of them since I was knee high to a grasshopper. It is so great to see them now up there with the "big" boys of college football and winning. This was said to be their hardest game of the season.

Got Mychal off to her 1st day of school, she is in 10th grade this year. Excited about her classes and such. I was surprised when I took her to the bus stop this am..last year there were only about 7 kids that rode the bus..this year it looked like there were about a dozen kids or more down there.

We will be heading out shortly to meet friends. She is homeschooling for the first time this year, her twin boys are the same age a Zeke, 8th grade. We are meeting at a amazing local mom and pop donut place...for NOT back to class celebration.

Well I better get off and get shoes and socks on Kodie so we are not late.
You all have great day.

Afternoon all. We should have temps in the high 80's for the next few days. It's overcast now and should rain if not today, tomorrow for sure. Possibly some rain from Hermine? Will enjoy the cooler temps and rain regardless.
I fixed the plumbing last week. Got the bathroom fixed and all was fine. Last night I hear a crash and the back bedroom ceiling, at the shared wall to the bathroom, caved in. The "pipes" here are really hoses (except for the joints and elbows) so I just fix them as I would a hose. If this keeps up pretty soon there will be no slack left for repairs. I'm just glad I didn't repair the ceiling in the bathroom yet as I was waiting to see if the repair would hold. (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! :D ) It's probably time to check with the insurance co. about replacing the plumbing and the help I can get. I can dream.

To all sistahs stay safe. Linda

Mid afternoon here in the rainy PNW. I love a good rainy day! Got a call yesterday that bowling started today! :o So needed to be there by 9:30. It was only sprinkling then. When I got out it was about the same so I went to grocery shop. Figured I'd not be trying to put groceries in the car in the rain, and I was right! I got home, put groceries away and ate lunch and since then it's been pouring on and off! Made some lentil salad for later. Nice and cloudy out, too, so I'm thinking the sofa, my dog, a blanket and my Kindle are in order!

Oh, the lump in the front of my throat is still there but not nearly as painful. I drove by the clinic after bowling as I wanted to see if I could get in to see the 'same day Dr', but the parking lot was full! No way was I going to wait around. I think I'm getting better so just as well.

Ok, everyone, have a great day. Stay out of harms way in TX where they are getting hit by the tropical storm.
