Good Morning! We arrived in Seaside Oregon yesterday, the drive from Ocean Shores WA was a sunny one but windy roads, down shifting down Hwy101. Crossed over the Astoria bridge into Oregon and by the afternoon the fog was rolling in. We are camped at the Seaside Thousand Trails park and the park is PACKED!!! I'm seeing LOTS of Alfa Seeya's in here, not sure I know any of the folks though. I road my bike around the park yesterday and the wind started up so it was a chilly ride, the leaves are starting to fall off the trees so the beginning of Autumn.
Had dinner ( Chinese) with friends in Warrenton that are camped over in Long Beach WA .
I am shocked to see this park so full!!! Makes you wonder if everyone is starting to head South or what? One guy next to us is heading back to Portland.
Fort Stevens is not far away in Warrenton, we camped there one time with the family and it's a really nice park and lots of job opportunities for workampers. We'd like to work there someday but not until we have seen the East coast.
Can't camp on the beach here in Seaside, the town has alot of shops, Lewis & Clark stopped here and they have a statue of them on the Promenade. Good Restaurants, my favorite is Dooger's for their Clam Chowder!! I got their recipe and make it all the time now.
Here is the website for the Astoria Column that you see from the Astoria bridge. Dan & I climbed to the top of it one year.
