FRIDAY AND LAST DAY OF APRIL

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

FRIDAY AND LAST DAY OF APRIL

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Where oh where did April go?? With the temperature at 25 this morning, it actually feels more like October, but the forecast for the weekend sounds super with temps to rise into the upper 70s! Once I had a good hot cup of decafe last night to warm my innards, Molly and I climbed into my little corner bed with 7 inches of rock-hard memory foam (if the air is cold, that stuff turns to stone!), wrapped up in my sleeping bag designed for zero degrees, and slowly sank into into the bed as we both warmed it up!

It's Friday and jeans day! Yippee!!! I will bring home my newly renovated lawn mower today, and the back yard actually will need a first cutting by Saturday. It was neat to have the shop kids renovate it for me, and all it cost was a couple dozen doughnuts from Dunkin! I also called about my rotten new tires by Duro on my trailer to see if Duro would reimburse me rather than replace them again, but the main waranty person was not in the office yesterday. (I would always be very leery of that brand of tires now after twice getting ones that are bad from day one) So I asked for an approximate price for getting 4 Goodyear Marathon radials installed instead. It would cost me about 600 to 800 to get it done, but, if I am to haul myself all over next year, it will be worth it to me. So I am thinking I should call again today and ask them to order me 4 of them, regardless of what Duro will do for me. If they will only replace them, then I will say to send me new ones and I will keep them for spares! (They would be free as they are under waranty.) Or I could trade two of them to my dealer for the price of mounting the Goodyears.

So that's that! Coffee is hot now, and I need to read a few overnight posts, get dressed, and head out the door. Happy Friday to all!

I woke up to a big puddle of water all over my kitchen floor....my coffeemaker leaked it out over night. Guess it's time for a new coffeemaker.

Looks like a horrible disaster in the making along the gulf coast with no end in sight. Such a shame and an environmental lesson we should have already learned after the Exxon Valdez. This one is sizing up to be even worse.

I'm traveling to Tampa this afternoon & will stop to visit dd, sil, & grandsons on the way back. Youngest gs has an event at school this evening....may go to that with them, we'll see.

Hoping the expected heavy rains does no damage in Alabama & other areas in its path.

Other than all that....enjoy your day!

Beautiful day today - but tomorrow the rains come back. They are predicting 7 inches for us in the next 4 days. Most of it tomorrow and Sunday. So, I'll probably be hunkered down. Sure wish the stuff I ordered to take care of my leak had come in and I could have gotten it up today. Let's hope the rains aren't as bad as predicted, and that my leak doesn't leak too much!

About to unhook and go dump today. Then will be calling services to see if I can get a honey wagon service up here for Jean. I know I'll be able to - just depends on how long it takes to find one. I know of one that's about an hour away, but hoping to find someone here in Huntsville - I'm sure that closer will be less expensive.

Peaches and I had a nice walk. I keep seeing the beautiful red tanagers - but not getting pictures of them. Today I didn't have the camera with me and was sure I was seeing a tanager, not a cardinal - I asked a couple with their binoculars to confirm, and they stood ooohing and aahing. Yep, a tanager. Otherwise, I mostly listen to the loud-mouthed wrens who never shut up. Maybe they taught me that trait in my infancy?

Hope everyone has a great day.

Yesterday was cold, cloudy and windy, today is clear, a little warmer and still breezy. Have to go to Moreno Valley today and pick up Chewy's precription from the vet. I had planned on calling Evie to see if she wanted to have lunch and walk the mall, but the BF called and said he was bringing his sand jeep up to put in my garage. This is after I told him quite a while ago that he couldn't put any jeeps in my garage. Then he bought another one last week and here he comes with this one. Arrgghh! I had told him he could put a storage container on the back half acre to put his jeeps in but so far that hasn't happened. We'll see how this turns out. Might get ugly.

Beth, does it EVER stop raining in the south? It rained the whole time I was back there in Oct and doesn't seem to have stopped since I left! And Soos, do you guys ever get a summer??? LOL! I used to live in NJ and NY and I have to tell you, I don't miss it at all!

Soos, have you thought about putting the bad tires on Craigslist to help recoup some of your money if they insist on replacing instead of buying you out? They'll be brand new, so you should be able to get a little something to help pay for good ones. And of course, maybe the lemon law could help you out there, too, not sure how that works.

Liz, travel safe today and enjoy the visit with family. I can deal with just about anything except a coffeepot on the blink. Target has a good selection, but I got mine thru Amazon. It's the new style under counter from Black and Decker.

Hope everyone has a great day, stay safe, warm and dry if you can.

Hello from beautiful down town Camping World. Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first? Oh yeah, there isn't any good news! Well, maybe just a teaser of good news. The problem I came for....the generator wouldn't hold a load for more than 5 or so minutes without shutting down....apparently was a dirty carborater. The tech had it running like a champ, lots of different heavy loads. But then, he took it out for a test drive with the gen running. Every time he made a turn it shut down! Yikes, back to the drawing board. So here I wait. Wondering if the original problem isn't related to the new one. One other bit of good news is that the tech has been very good about actually talking to me. That makes me feel better even if nothing else.

The weather here is overcast, possible thunder shower later, no big deals.

I'm also so sad to hear about LA coast, especially since I was just there a week or so ago. The wildlife refuges were so fantastic. Next year I hope to go back to the Gulf coast in the winter to see the birds.

Hope y'all out there are having a fun day. I'm with you in spirit!

We had our absolutely perfect day yesterday, low seventies, no humidity and a nice wind. Alas today the clouds are back and we are supposed to get quite a bit of rain. I'm off for a massage and I am soooo ready. Our yoga instructor is picking up the pace or else I'm putting more effort into it now so I have a few places that will really appreciate the massage. I also have a plantar fibromatosis which is a small tumor in the arch of my foot. I actually did go to a foot doctor who said he would not touch it in that position unless absolutely necessary. Apparently they sometimes just go away but he did suggest massage. Ahh now that was a prescription I liked.

They finally finished getting my electric hooked up to my permanent summer site so I got moved over yesterday! I love it here...huge pull thru with a cedar privacy fence and shed. I look out at the woods, where I saw a duck swimming in the standing water this morning. I hear tree frogs and even hoot owls at night. I'm right across from a comfort station and there is a private shower in the middle that my tenting guests can use. Not far to go to use it for severe weather. Got a lot done yesterday. It stormed in the night and I managed to get Rags walked before the rain started up again. Needed to get my paperwork done to send off to my road service and dealership for reimbursement for the repair to Myrtle. Heading over to Mom's to pick up the load of laundry I left drying the other day and what's left of DXH's in her garage.

I posted a couple of volunteer positions still open here at Saylorville Lake on the Work Camping thread. Would love it if one or two of you came to fill the positions! I'm sure they provide a full hookup site for your RV. Not a bad way to spend your summer and save on rent and utilities :-) Check it out! If you want more info on the area, PM me!
