SUNNY SATURDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUNNY SATURDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Sat Apr 24, 2010 6:22 am

GOOD MORNING TO US ALL!

Sun is coming up, frosty ground is melting where the yellow sun's rays are hitting it, and it's come up to about 17 degrees out there. I have my propane furnace running and the electric heater right here next to me, with Molly lying beside it!

Cedar, I just read yeserday's posts, and CONGRATULATIONS!!! It sounds as if you and I and your friend, Kathy, can have a new vehicle celebratory dance this year of 2010! Your new car sounds just PERFECT for you! I can't wait to see some pics of it!!!

Kath, Dayspring----very happy to hear you are planning to have some of those deep pain shots so you will be able to get on that trike again and move around without being in agony. Hurray for your daughter for getting you on it!

I got a long phone call from my son last night, and I guess he and Melissa are again meeting with their real estate agent tomorrow and will make an offer on the home they have decided upon! I am so excited for them, and am hoping the owners (who moved because the wife thought the place was "too much out in the country" and wanted to be back in the town of St. Cloud) will accept their offer!. This place is brand new....built in 2008....has 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, attached finished garage, separate garage/shed for my trailer, its own spring-fed pond, security system, and all appliances go with it. It's on a dead end road and is entirely fenced, as the surrounding property is cattle farms! It is really two lots that have been consolidated into a 5-acre property, and so they could sell one lot down the line, if they so wanted, for another house. WAHOO!!

I spent yesterday organizing and shucking camping 'stuff' from one spot to another. Then I noticed my brand new tires they put on last November! One side ,two tires, are completely checked! I was horrified! They are worse than the year-old ones they replaced on warranty. I took digital pics of them and emailed them to the dealership, so they can again contact the DURO tire company to see what in heck is up with their tires! They traveled the 40 miles home, and were up on boards with my stabilizer jacks down all winter in a shelter.....and that's IT! Does Duro make tires that are unable to freeze? If so, I just want to be reimbursed for them and I will choose another brand. Just another hassle to have to deal with. It will be a hairy drive back to the dealership on those tires, too.

Coffee is hot----I have no plans for today, other than our daily walk to the pond, and maybe soak up some healthy vitamin D sun's rays. Happy Saturday to you all from me and Molly.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning from the rest area in IA! Actually slept fine all night to the sound of trucks on the interstate! Heard a little rain and one thunder crash this morning, but nothing now. Think it's pretty chilly tho. Glad I got parked when I did! Didn't realize these places totally fill up with trucks at night! I did pull into another rest area first and I was too unlevel. I don't like walking around or sleeping that way. This spot is real level without even putting my jacks down.

Glad I got the problem fixed yesterday, even tho it was an all day thing! Hey...at least I got to ride in a big rig! Will be talking to the owner of the dealership to try to get some money for the repairs. Just a note...most road services are not paying the towing company to reinstall your drive shaft after towing! I had to pay the truck repair to do that! Will be calling my road service about that! Otherwise, my first couple day's pay will go to this. Oh...talking to the previous owner of Myrtle yesterday, he said the tires are original? Will have to check on that! I'm seeing $$$$!!! So much for tucking away any money!

Will eat and short walk with Rags over to he pet area and then head to Saylorville. Not much further to go. Haven't looked yet, but thinking about an hour or so. Will get in my temp site and my new boss, Pam, or brother will take me to Mom's to get my car. Think I may take a long bath while I'm at her house; -)

Soos. ..Hope you don't have to use your DS's shed for the ft now that you're retiring! You will be in FL in the winter, right?

Well, it's starting to smell like diesel here with the generator from next door running so better get movin! Have a great day and will see you at the campfire tonight!

Good Morning
Just a quick check in this morning as we have a severe weather threat developing here. It is rare that weather service issues Supercell Threat here but they have one for today. Weather is expected to settle down and threat over by midnight; in meantime we are being told to prepare for damaging winds, large hail, and at least 2 inches of rain - that is without any tornados. Tried to get Jean and Beth to come stay at house today but no luck.
Linda - Sorry about your RV expenses but glad you have almost reached your destination.
Stay safe out there today.

Jean and I are of hardy stock. We're fine here on the mountain. Actually, I don't think tornados have ever hit up here - they swoop down into the valleys. But we are hunkered down - and it's a very short distance to the bathhouse if necessary. I was amazed that some campers came in last night for the weekend - since the rains were coming in last night, the bad thunderstorms predicted for from noon-8 pm or so today - then rain continuing off and on into tonight - I mean would you come for those 2 nights? And the one next to me immediately put out his awning. This is weather you pull in awnings for. Like I said, I don't understand people.

Peaches is sleeping on her back - she didn't like the rain a bit ago, but now it's a calming rain and she and I are happy. After walking her during a lull this morning, I went to visit Jean - and I got caught in a downpour walking back to my rig. We might have sites next to each other - but that doesnt' mean there isn't space - there's a lot of it - this is wooded. Luckily I had on my rain coat, but my pants got soaked :) I'm waterproof, as I always say.

Everyone have a great day - and those of you in stormy areas - stay safe.

Good afternoon all. Soos, that is good news about the house for your son and his girlfriend. Wishing good thoughts about the acceptance of the offer. Re: the tires, I would ask the dealer to exchange them anyway. Who wants another go with that kind of tire. Instead of you driving there, ask if they would deliver the new tires and put them on for you at your place. That way they can take the bad tires with them and they can deal with the manufacturer and you don't have to have a scary drive. ;) It's worth a try, good for their PR as well. Just my 2 cents.

Not much happening here. Going to be nice and springy at 72-73 and mostly sunny. Take care all, especially those in the severe weather areas and those traveling. Linda
