TUESDAY AND COLDER

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TUESDAY AND COLDER

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Apr 13, 2010 3:56 am

GOOD MORNING, AND BRRRRRRRRRRR!

It's only 19 F. out there this morning, and the sky is absolutely beautiful-----pitch black with myriads of bright stars and constellations. Molly and I lingered for a bit to listen to the coyotes and watch the sky on our way in from the trailer. I turned up my Monitor heater in here, and I must say, it sure does feel good!

The latest video of Hope and Lilly shows some amazing bear play, with Hope actually attacking her mother's feet to get her going! I guess that little precocious cub is way ahead of the others born at or about the same time----the others are all still in the dens with their mothers. Lily's milk, consumed by just one cub, must be like an energy drink for Hope!

It's as if I never left school after yesterday's return----all but the guy with the most problems were back, and he was probably still down in the Bronx from where he will return with an attitude like the city dudes his family lives with and amidst down there. I am not looking forward to seeing him and having to deal with him again.

I will be thinking of Liz's Roe getting his surgery to remove his foot growth today, and Molly wishes him good luck, too. Hopefully, removal of the thing will be all he will need to be able to frolic once again.

Time to get moving here. Coffee is hot and ready for visitors to stop by and give us a rundown of their day. Happy Tuesday to us all.

Good morning, girls! Now that Soos is back to work, I don't get to start the coffee, but that's OK with me! Soos...You are one tough cookie! Can't believe you still have a stick house when you even love to stay in the camper in that frigid weather

Called the office yesterday to tell them there is sewage seeping out on our site...yuck! They were glad I told them. They said so many people never say anything, so they don't know. I kept thinking it was leftover rain water from the day we got here, until it wouldn't dry up and started stinking :x I told the guys who came out to check on it that I didn't think it's good for it to be running down into the lake. We leave here tomorrow morning so they will wait until we are out of here.

I have a to do list for the day, in preparation for our departure to Forest City to pick up my new "home sweet motor home" :D I'm kind of thinking of naming her Myrtle. What do you think? It was my grandmother's name and nobody will name their baby that, so thought I should name the mh in her honor. Hope it doesn't sound too much like turtle  Getting pretty excited!!!

Also getting excited about my mini gtg with Barbie, up in MN! I think I already love her :D We seem to have a lot in common. I'm sure we will have a great time! From there, I plan to go to NE IA to a couple of the state parks. They are only $11/night with elec. since it is still off-season until the end of the month. I posted it on the GTG thread, in case anyone is interested. I'm hoping I don't have to head up to SD for this divorce thing after the weekend. If so, my GTG location will change. Got a message from the court up there yesterday. The gal said that the judge says one of us has to physically live in SD! What??? I left a message to her saying I could come up and park my mh in the courthouse parking lot if they want proof :x I have to talk to her...We are legal residents there, but full time RVers. We don't physically live anywhere! Apparently the judge isn't familiar with our kind of lifestyle!

Well, it's time for my morning walk with the boys. It is sunny and calm and the birds are singing :D Supposed to get to 80 degrees today! Have a great day, girls!!!

Well, I am stuck at home for now waiting out a heavy thunderstorm, before heading into work. It has been thundering and lightning all night long. Got some really heavy rain awhile ago. The radar shows it will be moving out of here shortly tho. All that nitrogen in the air should really green things up later today! Suppose to be in the 70's today as well.

Linda, I told my dad your are coming up here and he offered to let you park your RV in his yard. I don't think he realizes how big it is. It would take up his whole yard and then some! But it was nice of him to offer! He wants to meet you too.

Soos, glad you are able to stay warm in your trailer! Brrr! I don't ever want to feel temps that cold again! I was telling a customer at work last night about my wanting to move to CA and she said "Just do it!". That is what everyone is telling me so that helps to keep me motivated. I am thinking of extending my apartment lease an extra month so I would be here until the end of August. That would give me another month to get my ducks in a row.

Looks like the storm is about over so I better head out. Hope everyone has a great day! Soos, remember... there is light at the end of that tunnel! Keep that in mind at work each day!

Barbie...I'm so happy my new dad wants to meet me :D That was so nice of him to offer to let me stay in his yard. He sounds so sweet! My real dad would have done the same....God rest his soul! Even if I fit, it's probably just more convenient to stay in your parking lot. I'm getting excited! I will need a bit of fun after all I've been going through lately ;)

Found out today that I didn't sign one of the pages in the pile of divorce papers, so have to do that in front of a notary public and mail. Glad we made extra copies! Can't believe none of us noticed it when we were signing everything :o Also found out the judge may make me go up to SD for the hearing. I can't believe this  Everything I've read and even the girl who sent me the papers said that I don't have to be there. The judge said that I need to be a physical resident. I'm not a physical resident anywhere! I think this is the first divorce he's done for full timers. That figures! They only have court on Mondays (it's a small town) so I will have to trust the soon to be XDH to cover at work for me! Oh well...He is going to a wedding in June, so I guess that makes us even. What next?

Left my car and motorcycle over at Mom's today. Picked up some laundry baskets to make the move easier. Forgot to pick up my computer and printer...crud!!! I really wanted them, just in case. At least I have my Droid. Got my insurance set up. Always a puzzling job :? While I'm thinking of it, anyone here belong to Escapees? Would like to know how you like it. Anyways...Leaving in the morning for Forest City to pick up Myrtle. How does that sound for a name for my new mh? It was my grandmother's name and nobody will name their baby that, so thought I should honor her.

I belong to Escapees and went to one of their rallys in fall of 05, the year I got my first RV and right after I retired. :=) I don't take full advantage of all that they do offer but I would recommend you trying it out. They have a small net work of parks. They are a small organization compared to say....FMCA but they support full-timers very well and include all types of vehicles not just MH but also TT and 5th Wheels, MDT, etc. Nick Russell has made the statement several times when he explains the different RV organizations. He is a member of this organization or that group, but he is an Escapee......

They also run a health care facility associated with their park in Livingston, TX. Individuals can stay in their own rigs and get assistive living and nursing care. I met a gentleman at a Life on Wheels conference who had stayed there with his wife as she received support in her fight with cancer. He spoke highly of the care and support that his wife received and their support of him through her illness and eventual death. Check out their website.

An RVing girlfriend of mine has a friend who used that benefit. She has cancer and is a full timer. That really interested me, since I haven't heard of this advantage with the other clubs. I've looked at the website and don't think it is detailed enough to really get the feel for what it's all about. Maybe I should call them. Thanks for your input! It's good to hear from a member.
