Serene Saturday ...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Serene Saturday ...

Postby Getupngo » Sat Feb 20, 2010 7:06 am

It's a much earlier day than I'm used to. Having trouble sleeping this last week or so ... just find myself crashing on the couch. Can you say crick-neck?

But I'm sitting here sharing toast with my sweet doggies (Kiwi's turning up her nose and waiting for the filet mignon). But I'm feeling serene this morning. The first news story on BIL's death was published ... and the headline called him a forensic pathologist, rather than a forensic psychologist. BIL had a great sense of humor and would have cackled over that ...

Life goes on ... I'm gonna try to snooze now that I have a cup of coffee in me.

Good morning gals, I'd like to say its a typical Saturday for me but that truely is not
the case, I do have to go pay my debts today, however the city is having the Parada
del Sol today and the places I need to go are on the parade route  so, I'll have
to shift my schedule to go there after the parade which means I'll have to call them
and let them know. I just hate shifting my schedule, I'm a very routine person and
I plan things accordingling, not that I can't make jello plans, I can certainly do that
as long as I PLAN it to be jello, does that make sense? It does to me.
Weatherman says a little bit of rain later this afternoon, little bit is good as it washes
off the streets.
Laundry and dishes for sure today, and I'd like to get the livingroom straightened
up cause I've made a bit of a mess with my crochet projects and unnecessary "stuff"
is getting in my way, although the doggies won't think its unnecessary but they do
need to learn to pick up their toys and put them away. (Guess thats what they have
me for) :D
Gonna go scout new posts and see if I can find out what Echo and Kelly is up to, I don't
remember seeing a post from them all week, so I hope they are ok.
Coffee is good and time for a second cup, along with some toast to fill the empty spot
in my tummy. Have a great day and hope everyones stormy, snowy weather is giving
you a break.

It must be the morning for toast and coffee. Just finished mine.

I was hoping to take the rv out this weekend but there's too much snow. I'm a little irritated with the neighbor. Since there have been so many renters in and out every six months or so, I've just taken on the snow shoveling for both sidewalks. I think a neighbor did it one time in the past three years. So, the past three snowfalls, my neighbor has come out and pointedly just shoveled his side, not even coming to the halfway point. What's up with some people? I've been trying to teach Bobby how nice it is to just get out and help neighbors, but I think I've reached my limit.

Now that I've had my mini-whine session I'll pull up the big girl panties and get on with my day. Part of that will include putting away the rest of the Christmas decorations. I might just get it done before Easter.

Finally have a day of sunshine here at the beach and it's only forecast to last one day. I think I will head down to Padre Island, haven' made it there yet and was resigned to "saving it for next time" but why not?

It is another beautiful winter day here in the PNW...not that we have really had winter this year. I would like to find a balance between last winter and this winter.

Today my GF Erica and her family are driving up here for a BBQ and then a we are going on a hike.

Things have been going well. We had some colds pass through the house earlier in the week. I have started scanning in pictures that I brought from Grandpa's house. That way I can burn a disk and everyone can have one and have copies of the pictures.

Amy...I feel for you..we once lived in a duplex that had a shared sidewalk and lawn. We had those same neighbors. They would only mow their half (no snow in that area)..it was a very small front yard. 20 ft x15 ft. I use to mow their half when I did it. I finally just stopped doing theirs.

Worked at the salon all day. Actually did 4 haircuts today! woohoo! Most days I am lucky if I do one or two! I did call and talk to the manager of a Great Clips in my area about working there. She was busy but will call me tomorrow. I spoke to her about a month ago and she said I would have to work both Saturdays and Sundays most weekends. At that time I was still working 40 hours at my office job and felt that was too much for me, but now my hours at the office job are down to less than 20 per week and dwindling, so I could do the weekends now without feeling too overwhelmed. My boss at the salon I am at now won't be too happy about me leaving but I gotta do what I gotta do. I can make almost $300 per month more at Great Clips working the same number of hours! And I desperately need the money right now. I will have to borrow $100 from my dad tomorrow just to keep my head above water this week until payday on Friday.
The other thing about going back to Great Clips is that if I do decide to move to CA, I can just transfer to another GC out there. I found out that all I have to do to apply for a cosmo license out there is send them a check for $50 and proof of my current MN license.

Now I have to peel my butt of the couch and go do some laundry!
