Tuesday Flurries

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday Flurries

Yesterday they said we would get some occasional flurries. Well, now we have 3+ inches of "flurries" on the ground and it is still "flurrying". It is the light fluffy stuff which is pretty but it sure makes a mess of the roads and driving. Lots of accidents this morning all over the cities.

Got my donut and French Vanilla Capuccino to start my morning off. Last night I found out that two stylists are leaving the salon so hopefully I can take on some of their clientelle and make a little more money now!

Have a great day and stay warm, dry and safe!

Good Morning!

Sun is shining brightly here in the Lake Champlain Valley,... and we are rejoicing as the new ferry began service between NY and VT yesterday. The bridge was demolished last month and a new one will be finished by 2011 but for now the ferry is a wonderful thing for all of those commuters. A lot of people in our area have employment in various places in VT. And many Vermonters work on our side at the International Paper mill in Ticonderoga.

I finally have myself fully migrated into my new Toshiba laptop. Eventually I'll clean out the HP laptop and reinstall things and keep that for a backup. I must say that I love the Toshiba. Once I cured it of increasing/decreasing the font size on a whim. Come to find out there is a setting called "pinch zoom" that can be disabled. That fixed that annoying problem. So now all is well and I'm a happy camper.

So all in all ... life is good here. Hope it's the same with each of you!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Brrr. Breezy here this morning so it feels chillier. But of course it's 7am here. Got up at 6:30 to go potty and just stayed up. Shade and I are at the picnic table cozied up in my jacket. :D I've got it draped around my shoulders and she is under one 'wing' of it. She feels much better now. She's not cold mind you but I'm using the other tent fly as a wall behind me and she hates it when it flaps and billows in the breeze. I guess she thinks it's gonna get her? So she feels safe as now she can't see the fly flutter! ;) Suppose to rain tomorrow so we will be screen house bound I would imagine.

Today is grocery day, yay, NOT. Kelly is really weird, she says she like to go grocery shopping and to do laundry??? She's not normal.  So as long as today is payday we are gonna be doing our running around. Might go ahead and get a PO box in Q this week and do an address change. Then David can send us our W2's and any other mail that's sitting at his house. If between now and going back to the Lodge we don't get a mailing service going we will redirect the mail to the Lodge. Then during the summer we can get the mailing service. ~sigh~ All these good things to think about and do. :P

Ok, coffee is brewed up, fresh and hot and I haven't drank it all yet. If ya want some grab a cup and sit a spell. Let us know your plans for the day. Hope whatever you've got going on will be good and that you have a great day. Stay safe and warm everybody.

Love to all

A very wet and rainy morning here.
I am almost done with the whirl wind remodel and painting.
We are still cold with no furnace. They came and removed the old one on Friday. Said they would call with updated information and to set up a time on Monday to get the duct work all clean, before putting in the new furnace. DID NOT HEAR FROM THEM. To be honest I am not happy with their lack of service. Not really up to dealing with them, as we have the appraiser coming tomorrow for the re-fi. Had too much on the old plate. I am going to call them this AM and ask what the hades is up.

So we have totally remodeled all 3 bathrooms...YEAH...no more 1970's looking colors or counters. I will say...that the biggest PIA was the wall paper in one bathroom. They did not prime the sheet rock before apply the wall paper. We rented a steamer...it did okay. Then I looked online....there is a product that is blue gel stuff(sorry to lazy to go downstairs and look at the name). You spray it on...wait about 20 minutes and it scrapes right off. Great stuff.

So I will finish up breakfast and get started on painting the last of the 3 bathrooms.

Here we sit back home again in Ohio. Luckily yesterday stayed mild enough (mid thirties) that making the multiple trips back and forth to the house was tolerable. Many laundry loads got finished. I had stayed up with the clothes during the rip but once home all the human and dog bedding and small floor rugs get washed. I bathed the three dogs that traveled with me (Herschel and Remi have to visit their friends this afternoon.) All three English Cockers are long over due for a trim. But sleeping in and drinking tea next to the computer seemed mighty attractive this morning. And talking about heating bills, Sarah..... Having paid one for about $450 while on the road I was thrilled NOT to find another receipt from a fuel delivery in the stack of mail I went through last night for $570. And its not like I was even here!
Oh well. :) At least there were not frozzen pipes to return to and all the animals that had remained at home appear WELL fed and healthy. Blondie and Stuart had gained several pounds......

I'll finish the tea and be off for the day...... Enjoy today's discoveries! :D

Hi everyone, Bit chilly today, overcast . Not trying to ignore ya'll just busier than a cat in a litterbox since Dec with non stop students
( RV Driving School) coming and going on our lot. Warned the neighbors ( they hate hearing the Diesels rev up). Dan is the ONLY instructor in Yuma till Jerry comes back down( he had surgery so Docs said he has to stay put in CA). So I have not been on the forum much. We got the back patio and sidewalks finished $2,500 so I told Dennis Hill to give us as much students as possible to pay it off! So we are busy busy busy ;)

Now if the motorhome blocking my driveway would move I can go to Lowe's and buy some plants ( they are on a lunch break and will continue the lesson after lunch)
We'll be doing the driving lessons before and after for the Gypsy Journal Rally in Yuma in March

Everyone have a great day!

Pretty awesome weather here lately. Don't need a coat or sweater.

A nasty bug is going 'round the school, lots of moisture spewing from the kiddos...(yuck!)

It's not nearly as exciting as Ava changing out the regulator on her propane tank, but I put in a new fill valve in the toilet tank last night. Baby steps...I'll work my way up to a regulator in a few years.

Hope everyone has a fun day!

Well, it's almost afternoon, but thought I'd write a few words anyway....Beautiful day here, but it's supposed to start raining again tomorrow with 2 fronts coming in. Dang, I'm sick of the rain, but guess it's better than all of the snow back east. Yesterday was not good....thought I would take a little putt on the Harley before Chewy's trainer came...wrong! The garage door wouldn't open. Motor was running, but no opey opey. Found the key to the walk in door...couldn't get the key to turn the lock, door had swelled. Just great! I finally got it to open without breaking the key off, which was my greatest concern. Took the cover off the motor....plastic gears were all chewed up. Now, that door worked perfect 2 days ago. Have a company coming out Thurs to install a new motor to the tune of 325.00. Guess I can't complain to much, it's around 25 yrs old, so guess I got my money's worth out of it. If it ain't one thing it's another! Chewy's trainer came out, I was very impressed with her. Chewy wasn't. Nuff said about that, the full story will be posted under the pets area. Walked a mile this morning and then went to the gym for a Zumba class. May still take the Harley out for a ride later if it warms up a little since I figured out how to get the garage door open w/o the motor working. Hope everyone is having a great day!
