Friday - Good Bye to the USA

Its about 7:30 here in Tucson and The Driver is finishing up last "before you leave" things outside. An hour from now we'll be at the border. The crossing here at the Nogales bypass if very easy. No driving through town, very nice set up at immigration.
So next time I write (if satellite cooperates) will be from somewhere in MX. Yesterday it was snowing at home. ....

Happy Black Friday!! I'm staying put. Already on the news they are showing the cops breaking up fights in the line to a Toys R Us! Some Moms got into it!! My niece who works at the deli at a Wal Mart in Illinois, said that last night when she got off work she saw a line of camping tents outside the Best Buy store!!
So how was everyone's Thanksgiving? It poured rain all day. Very quiet here as I was sick all the night before so I stayed in my jammies all day. I pulled out the sofa sleeper and watch TV (no TV in my bedroom). My turkey breast turned out dry (even cooked in a Reynolds cooking bag). My roasted veggies were great and so was the strawberry/rhubarb pie!
I'm still in the coffee stage. Will get my usual oatmeal here soon and need to make a trip for a couple groceries later.

Good morning....no shopping for me. I tried it one time because of some items I wanted for my classroom and afterword I could say...I have experienced it. Once was enough. But then I don't do much shopping period at Christmas.....our families long ago scaled back the exchanges and costs.....

Am sitting at the hospital using their WIFI (I have an aircard now I just need to learn to check and pack it ) The SM is in for a same day procedure. She thinks that she will be just fine when she get back... And doesn't want anyone staying with her. I hope she is right but I am thinking that she will be VERY Tired and perhaps weak for the rest of the day.....

The kids headed back to pick up their rental truck and drive to Marietta to load up some furniture and visit with a few friends from college. They are driving the furniture back to NYC. It was a short visit but a touching base which sometimes is all that is needed......

Hey Carol, hope you guys have a great winter with your travels!!!! And that satellite had better work good too or we all might be ready to behead your satellite guy. As I and of course the others will be on pins and needles waiting for all the pics of MX. And especially the ones of the places ya'll couldn't get to before!

Quiet morning here. I've been sitting here waiting on the telephone guy. He called and said he would be on his way out to see what's up with the phone. We can get incoming calls but can not make outgoing calls. But damn he called an hour ago. I should have jumped into the shower as soon as he hung up. Grrrrrrr

Have had my 1/2 pot of coffee and I'm gonna raid something for a light breakfast. Shade got me up at 8:30 this morning, getting in my face and bouncing. I think she was trying to tell me she had to go out. Got up, dressed and did my potty then took her out. We came in, she got her 'goodie' for being a good girl outside and then bugged the he77 out of me to go back into the room Kelly and I are sleeping in. 'She' wanted to go back to bed! &*%%$(#^ dog. Sheesh!!! Me? Once I'm up? I'm up. Boy I don't know why but felt almost like I was hungover??? Thank goodness I don't feel like that now!!! I know I didn't get drunk on turkey I didn't eat that much of it!!!

Oops! I think the phone guy is here. Got to go!!!

It's amazing what difference just a tiny bit of finagling with RV leveling does. The other day I moved the rig around just a little to take advantage of the sun. Thought the back might have been out of level just a bit, but didn't do anything about it. However, realized that my doors wouldn't stay open and it got kind of annoying to be in the little bathroom and have the door close. So, this morning I added a couple of legos to the back wheels and ta-da - just right!. I'm no longer three inches shorter in the back than in the front.

We had a nice-size get-together here at the campground yesterday - three picnic tables full of people and delicious food. And the weather was as close to perfect as it could get - no wind, nice and sunny. When everyone was done, the hostess passed around clean paper plates and invited all of us to fill them up with leftovers. So now there's turkey, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, a little dressing, and a homemade roll in the fridge. This not-cooking could become a definite habit. I ate it all for breakfast.

Today I think I'll head into Quartzsite to get cheaper gas and wander through the bookstore awhile as I'm completely out of fiction books. There's a bookstore here in Blythe, but in the many times I've stayed here, it's never been open. Wonder if she opens by appointment or something.

Supposed to be another gorgeous day today.

Not morning anymore here but cool and sunny. Had a great Thanksgiving, ordered Christmas presents online and today have a tennis match after having lunch with some friends. Have been checking the RV for my glasses the last few days and finally ordered a new pair. Of course, as usual, etc., looked again for the 4th time and there they were, right where I thought they'd be, between the bed and end table. I had looked there with a flashlight and ran my hand there all 4 times and could not find them. Did it again this am - the lost and found fairy came a day late and $$$$ short Somehow they were standing up against the bed frame. Well, guess I'll have an extra pair and my early Christmas present

Sparkle, we really enjoyed Organ Pipe and know you will too. My sister and her DH are staying at an Escapee park in Benson and love that area. carold

Carol, how WELL I know the glasses-losing thing! Right now, I've not been able to find my glasses since Tuesday evening when I took them off for bed somewhere, and I, too, have looked between my bed table and the bed a number of times, even with a flashlight. Guess I'd better check once again! I KNOW the darned things are in this house somewhere! Luckily, my glasses are just for reading, and I can still use the dollar-store variety, and I have about 10 extra pairs of them all over the place! But it's so ANNOYING to have my favorite 'leashed' ones disappear like this!
