LEONIDS METEOR SHOWER MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

LEONIDS METEOR SHOWER MORNING

GOOD MORNING ALL!

It's 15 F. and crystal clear out there this morning. I've been out on my deck watching some of the Leonids meteor shower.....perfect for seeing them! I got the best view from the balcony on the southern side of my house upstairs. I was able to see a lot of them zipping across the sky, and now I'm cold to the bone! They never cease to entertain me, however....I think it's the anticipation that I might see a gigantic one among the regular, pretty ones streaking across the sky.

Today is parents' day from 1 to 3 this afternoon. The kids get to go home right after 4th period, which is about 10:45. Heaven only knows what I will do for those hours. Guess I will get a book from the library and get in some reading. I really need a crossword puzzle book. I have one at the leanto, but won't have time to get it this morning. I'll look for one when I leave for lunch.

Tonight I have been invited to go over the mountain to Wilmington to visit with a friend who now lives in Alaska and is visiting her mother there. She flies from Homer to visit a few days at her home, and then drives her mother to FL for the winter. Then her mom pays for her flight back to Homer. What a good daughter she is! It will be good to see her for a short while tonight.

Off to see a few more meteors now, and then off to the torture chamber of my job. Catch you all tomorrow morning. Have some coffee, and let us know what's up for you today!

Happy travels!

How nice that you'll have someone you know to visit when you travel to Alaska, Soos!

This morning I am working on cleaning out file cabinets in my office. Downsizing is a continuing process...year-by-year. Going out to lunch with 2 other members of the Pastor search committee from church. We've been almost a year without a permanent Pastor, but have had many interesting guest Pastors.

It's going to be another beautiful day here in central FL...I should have planned an outdoor activity for today instead of file cabinets.

Hope you all (that don't have to go to work) have planned a fun day!

Brrrr...and I'm complaining about it being around 40 here in Texarkana, AR.
I know how you feel about your job - that's the way I was feeling just before I retired. I was 63 when I got out - thank goodness I could go.
But that aside - Good Morning to All - will try to post later about our trip so far. Not too much to write about. Miles and miles and rain and rain.
Everyone have a good day.

It was probably in the 50's last night but already up to 66. Tonight is suppose to be our first frost but will warm back up on Thursday. My washing machine quit draining last night so have to wait around all day for someone to come look at it. I am leaving Thursday and won't be back until Monday night so if they need to order a part I won't have a washer until next week. My DH doesn't like the washer we have but I don't think you should get to have an opinion about an appliance you don't use. lol He doesn't like the noise it makes but he is getting so hard of hearing I don't know how he hears it over the TV. I didn't go anywhere yesterday but now that I can't leave I can think of places I need to go.

Guess I better go clean the utility room. Have a great day.

By this coming Friday, I will have been without a fridge in the house for 10 days. Wonder how long I'll have to wait for the part to come in after the Friday diagnosis...grrrrrrrr...(anyone know of any good turkey tv dinners???)

Soos, I can't believe you're out in that weather watching meteors! Go for the Perseids in August...MUCH warmer! :D

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Whew I just made it! Was reading earlier but couldn't post as I had an arm full of Grandson. Mom was taking a shower and I got him!!! :D I'm not even gonna go into how it feels to hold him. It's way to mushy!!! ;)

No breakfast on the table here this morning but I do have a fresh pot of coffee that has just stopped dripping and ya'll are welcome to a cup. I do have supper cooking in the crockpot! Gonna have chicken & gravy over rice tonight. It's one of my faves and all the kids like it too.

Temp is simply perfect outside, warm with a slight breeze and clouds. Can't ask for much better for November 17. Kelly and I need to move some furniture today to clear out a room so that we can swap sleeping rooms. And I just might ? tear apart the trailer and try to figure how else I can pack it so that "everything" will stay dry.

Have been trying since we were still in AZ to sign up for unemployment. What a P.I.T.A. trying to do that. AZ suggested we file thru TN as the benefits are better but have had no luck getting a hold of anyone by phone. Went directly to the office to sign up and was told that we couldn't? Have to do it by phone, internet or mail in an app. Told the 'lady' and I use that term loosely, that it was impossible to get thru on the phone. Asked why I couldn't do it in person? Was told they were not set up that way in that office she then told me that she ! thought ! the closest office for personal sign up was in Memphis!! WTF!!! Went home and Kelly tried to file on line but because we have worked in 2 states and are claiming combined wages it will not take it. OMG! Kelly gave up and called AZ again. She is now filed but waiting on some paper to fill out and fax back in. And then it can take up to 6 wks to get a determintation for benefits. :x Read a review online about TN employment/unemployment no wonder the reviewer said it sucked!!!

Well Kelly's laptop is screwing up big time!! Have no idea what is going on with it but I am ready to either scream, pull all my hair out or throw it out the window..... I guess I had better try rebooting it? Hope it helps!

Love to all

This morning was the first time I've missed a meteor shower. Watching them was something Lou and I always have done together and although I watched them alone in Oklahoma this past year, it just didn't seem the same somehow. He and I went out for sushi last night, and then he stuck around a few hours longer to wipe my computer clean and reinstall Windows, etc. Now it runs at warp speed instead of grinding along (insert any slow metaphor you like here). But, there was something missing - that bit of togetherness and closeness we've always had before. Was thinking this morning that this is the second time in my life I've been "dumped" by the same guy. First time was in high school when he decided I wanted a more serious relationship than he was prepared to give. I just don't remember. This time he says it was because he needed someone close by who could go places on HIS schedule. Well, crap. So, anyway I missed the meteors this morning. However, I'm going to try and watch the Gemenids since they occur on my birthday in December.

I'm muddling along here in SoCal, enjoying the wonderful weather, trying to stay busy enough not to spend a lot of time moping. I'm going to my mom's creative writing class with her in a bit. That's always fun. We've eaten out most of the time since she doesn't really cook any more. I've cleaned her house, fixed a few things, and so forth. Even found 9 more geocaches yesterday. Getting my hair trimmed tomorrow, then heading back to Blythe Friday for a little while until leaving on a very much anticipated trip.

Wow, Chris---you and Lou have a long history. And it sounds as if it is he who has a problem with serious relationships. I am so sorry for your feeling so down. I know that lonliness is not a good feeling, and especially at this time of year when the holidays roll around. At least you are still 'friends', or it seems as if he is willing to give at least that much of himself to the relationship.

Hang in there, and find other things to keep you busy over the holidays----spring will help cure the holiday doldrums!

Thank you, Soos. Yes, he's definitely the one with the problems, and I'm finally realizing that he's always been that way. Anyway, no more moping. I'm following through on a friend's invitation to join the WINS group for their Thanksgiving week boondocking out near Borrego Springs, CA. Thanksgiving in the desert with some fun people sounds just about perfect.
