Starting off slowly this morning. Heading down to my step mothers to meet us with a Notory so she can sign some legal documents regarding finances, then we are heading off for her to look at a different retirement facility with independent Apt MUCH less expensive that where she is now. They are beautiful but I don't know if she will think the distances she will need to walk are too great. Guess that is why we have to actually visit! Tonight I will start on some doggy baths so that who ever is planning to travel to PA with me will start out clean! ...Wanting to watch the last of America's Got Talent, too. But by then I'll want to sit. Working with the SM always drains me physically and emotionally......she is unpredictable in what she will say and do.... so you radar is on all the time.....

Hope everyone has a beautiful day and if they are having wonderful adventures remember to send us the pictures :D :D
So we can keep planning our future trips out :)

Good Morning All - Only 77 this a.m. here in Vegas. Supposed to get to 95 today. We have to take Jennie for her smog test, then to the DMV to get her Vin number checked then inside to wait and wait to register her. Pretty much will shoot the whole day. At least it is air conditioned inside the DMV. Then probably to check on tires - she has all but one original, the tread is good but they are 12 years old and cracking. And also check out getting her windows tinted - dark. Busy, busy, busy. Some time while here of course I have to visit the bead shops and the yardage place.
Our oldest son and his wife are coming to town for Wednesday. So will see them. The youngest lives here but haven't managed to catch him and family yet. Gee the air conditioner just came on already!
Have a good day.

Good morning, Ladies (and Ernie)!

A little rain for the first time in a long time here in NW TN, but it's supposed to be rainy and ugly all week - just as we're leaving on our first camping trip of the year. Figures. I just LOVE camping in the rain...boy, will rain screw up my menus!! It'll be Nuked Hot Dogs the entire trip if I can't get outside. DANG.

Oh, well - it is what it is, isn't it? :)

Hope everyone has a good and safe Monday.

Good morning all

Oh Mitch, sorry the rain will get you on this trip. Maybe it will not be a total washout. At least you are going somewhere and I'll bet the hot dogs will be good.

Rain started here overnight and look as if it will be around all week. In fact, predictions call for up to 3" by tomorrow night. UGH!!! At least the young man who cleans my gutters finally returned my calls yesterday. It was late when he arrived and ran out of daylight as he was finishing up. Not sure the cleaning was as complete as it could have been but I am thankful that it is at least better than before he arrived. Unfortunately, with leaves starting to fall and all the trees around here, gutters will need attention again within a month or 6 weeks.

For the first time in about 2 months, I did manage to get a relatively quite day at home. In addition to the gutter work, got a couple of loads of clothes washed, gave myself a manicure (claws had grown much too long), actually read the Sunday paper on Sunday for a change, cleaned out frig, and started sorting a mountain of receipts. Think I remember promising myself last year not to let my bookkeeping pile up like this and here we go again. Kinda of a sad state of affairs when one can be proud of such small accomplishments. Just a reflection of dull life, I guess.

Safe travels and a fun day wish to each of you.

I'm moving slow this morning. I got home from the rally in Kerrville, TX last night about 7:30. 490 miles in a day is a killer. If I'm staying in a campground I won't drive that late but if I think I can make it home I push on. I know they have to take me in. lol It rained some every day I was gone but only hit one bad rain just East of Houston yesterday. We had 7 to 8 inches at home over the weekend. It was good to see my Texas friends again.

I know about letting the bookkeeping pile up. I make that promise every year but it doesn't seem to help. When my son was here this summer we put everything in my office in big containers so he could paint. Now I have to go through all that and get it sorted and filed. I had the farm books on an old Apple II C that I lost in hurricane Rita and never did get another program.

I better get moving and get something done. I don't feel like I do much until I'm gone for 4 days. My DH cleaned the cat boxes and it feels like a beach in the bathroom floor. He tried. lol

Today I drove my car to the SP where I want to take Little Missy tomorrow afternoon for our first outing. Figured I'd see what state park camping was all about and if I'd like the park or not. It's ok. Not too big, lots of trees and open fields for furbabies to romp and apple trees. The downside is it's very close to the interstate and it seems the semis like using their compression brakes right as they pass the park. They had it posted that after the 16th reservations we not required, first come first serve. I did stop and chat with the camp host so she knows I'm coming and says she can round up at least 3 different "men" should I need a hand with anything. ;) ;) Perhaps I'll allow one of them to show me, hands on, how to dump?? :P

After that I went back Ace Hardware and had one of the keys I had made redone as it wouldn't work in the RV, then out to visit Little Missy where I met the owner of the diesel pusher that just took the space next to me. He just arrived from bringing the RV from Texas. It belonged to his grandfather and so he got for a good price, he said. Very nice young man and full of helpful info. Oh, and the key worked this time.

Back home and hit the garage door opener and it opened halfway and started making a horrible racket and then stopped! I closed it again and tried opening it and the same thing. So my car is parked outside and I called the garage door repair guy who is coming out first thing in the AM. I requested the earlier the better as I bowl at 9:30.

Then I get a call from my SIL that my DD received a debit card and did I put her name on an account. (I have always put her on all my accounts so in case something happens to me she can get my bills paid etc). I said, 'yes', I opened a special account just to keep track of the RV stuff, but she wasn't suppose to get a debit card, too, and I was still awaiting mine. So off to the bank to straighten that out. Seems the gal put in our names wrong and my DD is listed as the primary account holder!! To make a long story short, I ended up closing out the new account and opening another. Yet again, I have to wait another 7-10 days for the debit card that I was hoping to use this week! Always something!

No we have to stay in her for awhile & let her personality speak to us!!!
We have not ripped out all that RV furniture & put in ours yet either---- & have not gotten my quilts & all of our STUFF in her yet------- I hate opening the door & looking cookie cutter type---- so have not had a change to work on her yet!!! BUT we will---- ;)
Plus I sold one of my antique kitchen cabinets I always used in the RV--- so now I may have to search for another cabinet!!!
We have not started to make her look like ours yet!!!!!
We are not going to do a tow this time----but will put on one of those "bumper things" like platform- that we can haul Hubby's motor bike on it!! Just getting started on her!!!
Thanks for asking!!
