SINGLE MOUSE SUNDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SINGLE MOUSE SUNDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Sun Aug 23, 2009 7:35 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!!!

Only a single mouse I released this morning at the old saw mill site, (I had 4 yesterday and one the day before) and perhaps they really ARE getting back here almost before I do, as someone said yesterday, but I think it's a long way for them to navigate back. Molly positively DROOLS as I take the trap into the kicker with her! She is the greatest mouse hunter EVER! Must be her Dingo genes coming out! The other trap was sprung, but nothing in it....I found some steel wool in it which had gotten under the little lever that is to hold it shut----fixed it for tonight.

Misty, sort-of rainy morning here, but at 64 degrees, it feels wonderful. Painting will have to wait today unless the sun comes out. Sigh....guess it will be indoor sorting and weeding out stuff here today.

My son and daughter-in-law-to-be (diltb in text language?? ACK!!) called me last night saying they had finally painted the inside of the house where they had to make all the repairs to the walls that the tenants wrecked. I can't wait to see some pics of what it looks like now. They are really excited about their little house down there, and the fact that they can pretty much do to with it whatever they want. My father would be SO happy to know his final major purchase was being enjoyed and appreciated so much. The next step is to make a workbench for the garage they've cleared out and organized so they can make some furniture and begin replacing some siding on the outside that has a bit of dry rot. They are really nesting---now then, WHERE ARE THOSE GRANDKIDS I AM WAITING FOR?? :)

Pull up a chair and share your morning with us all. Coffee is hot and hazlenut, and I am sure some of Barb's goodies are still around here somewhere!

Cedar says the bluegrass is the best of the summer, and I sort of regret not going but am also enjoying the last week off just doing nothing at this point.

Happy sunday to you all! Hope to see a bunch of posts in here today so we all know who's where and doing what!

Good Morning All - Wow today is a jeans and t-shirt day. Praise the Lord. It is sunny, no clouds but pretty cool out. How nice. And it is going to be a day of rest. NO WORK ON JENNIE TODAY!!!!! (I say now.) Reading about the mouse - I'd better check my car, don't drive it that much and have found mice in it before.) Grrr.
Tomorrow the installer is supposed to come to put the satellite dish on Jennie, then all thats left to do is go over to the RV doc where Alfie is staying and move stuff from her to Jennie. And we'll be sure to ensure her we still love her too. What we need to do is get rid of the house, live in Alfie and travel in Jennie. Sure......
Saw Bill making a list this a.m. and just heard the garage door open - what could he possibly be going to do now? Best go see.
Have a wonderful day all.

Morning ladies. We had a great rain come through last night. We've really needed some rain and it cooled the night off so was really good sleeping weather. They put up my new awning Friday - looks wonderful and doesn't have all those slits in the fabric that leaked when it rained. Only five weeks till I leave Silver City. Going to stop in Deming for a few days to visit with Cheeriogirl. I'm starting to look forward to going home for a bit but sure hope it cools off before I get there. Going to Gallup in December for the balloon festival at Red Rock Park. Cat (one of our newest members) is meeting Cheeriogirl and I there. Hope some of you can join us, too.

Well, off to work.

well good morning ladies
it was quite an uncomfortable night with no ac, but I survived, had the floor fan up
on a couple of tubs level with the bed and it blew right on me. Bandit is the one that
suffers the most, as he can't breath anyway and when its hot its worse, but he made
it too. I played with the ac this morning, turning it off and on, still nothing and then
about a half hour later I heard a noise and thought it sounded like the fan kicking on.
Thought I had it off but when I checked it, sure enough, I had it in fan mode. So.....
will leave the fan running, and the compressor will kick on and off as needed. We
are cool now and I've been cleaning house since I couldn't do it yesterday. Texted
daughter to call me when she gets up, the ac still needs repair of course but for now
we are cool.
Will run the the grocery store to attempt another load to the mpower card, hopefully
its in the system now and I won't have to worry about running out of electricity with
the ac going. Running out of electricity is such an odd statement, but I suppose if
you were boondocking and running off the batteries it could also be a true statement.
Have a good day and be safe.

Good morning all!

Isn't it amazing what a decent nights sleep can do for ones outlook, especially after not sleeping well for a few days?

Our weather is as near perfect as it gets for August in the south - that is anytime the humidity drops below 90! Actually very pleasant out this morning and looks as tho we will be blessed with 2 or 3 days of nice weather for a change.

Ava: wish I could send you some cooler weather since your ac went on the fritz.

Soos: Good luck with your painting project and heres to fewer mice.

I'm going back to spend day at my sister's so must get moving. Still have to go other way to take Nicky to sitter for the day; am waiting for her to get out of church.

Got my credit card statement yesterday. Cannot believe how much extra gas I've burned lately. Most of it going back and forth to my sister's and/or running errands for her.

Safe travels to all.

Here's all I have managed to accomplish today! Rain on and off is keeping the painting chore on the shelf. Molly looks about like I feel at this point!

Ava, thank heavens your AC kicked in!!

I am going down the road in the kicker to pick some blueberries which have multiplied in the past two weeks. Later........

Sigh! A relaxed Molly on newly 'leafed' porch!

Good late afternoon all,

The weather has been quite nice here lately. It's nice to finally wake up and find the house temp is the same temp as I have the AC set for. (74) No sense in setting it too low, the AC will never reach those temps. Well, this AM I got all the bottles, jars, cans, and cardboard all packed up and took it to the recycling center. The garage sure looks empty. It was just too hot before and I become way too cranky to be around. I still have a dump run to do, but that will be during the week when the dump is open. Most of the stuff that goes to the dump has been rejected by the thrift stores or I would not give it to them in the first place. All the info from full timers and soon to be FTers has gotten me into the less is more mode. I really like having less stuff now. Thanks full timers.

Everyone have a happy and safe rest of the day. Linda
