Beautiful Tuesday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Beautiful Tuesday!

I have a terrific campground surrounded by mountains and next to a lake, and the sun is shining, and high today is supposed to be 76. A little windy, but can't beat the weather. Also, last evening about an hour before dusk, I saw a lot of little birds flitting around catching insects. They were moving very fast, dipping and diving, but I finally got a good look at one, and it was a barn swallow. This morning I saw a pair of them going in and out of the roof area of the metal picnic table cover, so they might be nesting. Will have to see if there are any starts to a nest.

I've been watching for hummingbirds so I can put my feeder out. Saw one while talking to camp hosts, but they say there are only maybe three here right now, and they just arrived last week. I'll wait until i get back from Ohio next week so I don't steal their birds.

Also saw a black and white bird, which I found out was a black-billed magpie. (Oops, Word made an incorrect correction here, so I just fixed it.) One thing I have always had trouble with is identifying birds unless they are close by and walking around! Don't know how birdwatchers identify them by how they fly or their songs. Takes a lot of knowledge, and keener eyes than I have, I guess.

Been trying to go out for a very short walk each day. Too windy right now, but will go out this afternoon when it calms down. I am also trying to do a lot of things inside my RV, but I still get tired out easily. A lot less coughing, but still nasal drainage, so not completely cured. One good thing is that my appetite is back, so I am eating better. During the whooping cough I had to force myself to eat, even soup.

Tuesday the 13th

Postby BarbaraRose » Tue May 13, 2025 2:21 pm

Just noon here. I am still hanging out in bed. I woke up early because I was supposed to go out for lunch with Julie and David to a Mexican restaurant out of town. I started falling asleep again just before I needed to get up and get ready. Then Julie called and said she found out the restaurant is closed today, so did I want to wait and go tomorrow. Heck yeah! So I fell back to sleep and woke up 2 hours later! I was in bed early last night too.

Did't get much done yesterday. Was in a "down in the dumps" mood all day. Maybe I will get something done today. Lots of things on my list to choose from! I probably need to make a WM run too.

Will be getting a bit cooler each day this week, into the 80's. Need to do a couple of outside things in the mornings while it is still cool out. At least the sun is out today. Been cloudy and gloomy the past few days with a lot of wind yet. Still under a wind advisory for the next day or two.

Got my mini blinds up in the bedroom the other day and they look and work nice. They are cordless which is nice. Need to get a couple new valences or curtains for them. Also need to cover them with the UV film. My bedroom tends to stay warmer than the rest of the place so will start with those windows first.

Anne, I do watch a lot of YouTube videos, etc. but I have some actual TV shows that I have watched for years that I still enjoy watching (as well as golf) that are hard to find on the internet TV listings, especially the new episodes. If I do a "search", I just come up with reruns. I am not very techy or patient when it comes to that stuff.

Sheila, that cake sounds good. I wish I could make a cake here. My air fryer is more like an Easy Bake Oven and I would have to make several small cakes that would fit in there. Am still trying to figure out how to use it. I baked some cookies the other day and they were over-cooked on the outside and still raw in the middle even tho I had it set to the right temperature. I made some more later and set the temp down by 50* and they came out better. So it will be hit and miss when I try to bake other things.

OK, time to get up and figure out what to do here. Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon. Mixed weather day today. Bit of sun early, then the clouds rolled in, few scattered showers started up this afternoon. Supposed to increase as the week moves on and getting cooler by weekend. Temp is down to 72° now. Just got back from garden center about 20 minutes south a bit ago and it was about 80° down there. Either a cool front came through or a stalled boundary front is in place.

Shelia, you are right about wanting to plant flowers. I can do Perennials now, but annuals are going to wait till closer to end of month and I am scaling back this year. I did get some impatiens today and will pot them, but I can bring them inside while the expected cool spell is supposed to be here. They are very cold sensitive. Bought a hosta and a couple perennials as well. Flowers are getting expensive. As to the sign project out front, nothing has started as yet. Neighbor who is dong it, took the whole roof down to his house last fall, made necessary repairs and painted it, but Mother Nature put the stop in the project last fall and he hasn’t gotten it going again yet  . Everybody’s been asking me about it as they all want to see it back up. And I would like to get that steel frame out of my garage.

Judy, sounds like a nice spot you have there.

Judy, I love the Merlin Bird app. I learned about it on here from Sandi and absolutely love it.

Barbie, I know you don't care for Mexican so why don't you back out when she selects Mexican? Nothing wrong with that. And maybe find some places you could suggest?

I took my Amazon return to the UPS store in Sierra Vista, then stopped at Jersey Mike's and got a sub to bring home. Now just relaxing.

Good afternoon. Rain showers this morning and cloudy. Now the sun is peeking out and warmed up to 66°. I had a doctor appt this afternoon and that went well. She wants some labs when I get around to it and then again in 6months but I dont have to see her again for a year unless I need to. I checked out the lab as I was already there but they looked very busy so will go early in the morning this week sometime before I forget to go hah.

Sheila I dont know what you use for internet or tv. I have Spectrum internet and a few streaming channels. I use a Roku stick for streaming. I only stream The beauty of streaming is you can pick which channels you want and can stop and start them whenever you want to. I usually stop many of them for the summer as I am busy. You can subscribe to just the Hallmark channel, Netflix (mainly movies, some shows), Hulu (movies and shows) and many more so it depends what shows you want to watch. Philo is an entertainment only channel, that has all the Hallmark channels you like plus many more options. I watch mainly A&E, ID, The first 48 and an occasional movie. I have had this channel for over 5 years, it has no sports, no news I can get news from other places like my OTA antenna so I can have the local news. I can watch my streaming channels on my tablet or phone also if I want to.

Barbie I love my air fryer but each one is different so there is some trial and error involved. My cookies come out really good. I also make biscuits that works well. Baked potatoes are the best with the crispy skin and fluffy inside. I make so much in my air fryer but not everything has turned out great. That is where the trial and error comes in. I have some silicone dishes I make my meatloaf, meatballs, stuffed peppers etc in. It fits perfect in my air fryer. I usually use the BAKE setting for those I also have a digital thermometer and love it for my salmon. Keep trying you will figure it out.
