Sunday January 5

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday January 5

Postby Redetotry » Sun Jan 05, 2025 10:02 am

Good Morning All, We are getting ice and snow this morning from the storm that's hitting the area. I almost bought a generator last spring and I am sooo sorry I didn't. We had the driveway and sidewalk sprayed last night but I didn't notice but a little melting. They are expecting the weather to get worse and if the power goes off we will just have to put on our woolies and think warm thoughts! I have two heavy down comforters and a warm long winter coat and furry boots so hopefully we will not freeze. I filled my little daily pill holder this morning and when I started to take my pill today's pill was missing. I'm hoping I took it as I filled it up particularly since I have been having so much trouble adjusting to the new med. Hope all is well with everyone else and this bad weather misses you.

Morning BJ. I did not get up until 5:30 this morning. Took the dog out and it was actually not too bad out. 44 but no rain yet. Showers expected today of course.
BJ I dont envy you and your weather so guess my rain is not too bad. I bought a small generator and sure glad I have it. I have only used it 3 times but it gives me some peace of mind and it wasn't that expensive I think it was $400. It is only 2350 watts but it will run my tv, a small heater, my electric throw and charge my electronics. It will run much more but those are the things I need. I think if I needed to run my microwave I could too. No need for anything bigger for our short term outages.

Since the weather just says showers I need to get out of the house so might go for a drive today. Not too far but just to see what the rest of the world is doing. I dont feel like starting my painting project today so will do something else. I want to go to the Bandon Bakery at the coast one of these days as they get fabulous reviews and I love the little town of Bandon so that is on my list....soon.

Guess I will get some breakfast, hit the shower and start my day

BJ, sounds like you might be in for a bit of a wild ride. I will keep my fingers crossed that you don't lost power. Karen, sounds like you are getting things done around your house, just need a bit of sunshine to put icing on the cake!

Have had a couple weeks of rainy weather here, which is welcome. It has also been "cold" - high 50's/low 60's for daytime temps. Sunshine predicted here for the next ten days or so.

Those of you that are in the path of this bad weather, please post about what is going on in your area. I am a weather junkie, and weather reports are always of interest to me. LOL, I think I want to live in a place that has snow, but I see videos of snowdrifts covering cars - and even houses! - then I am not so sure.

Tina, hope Jane and the pups are doing well. I can't imagine dealing with diarrhea in a Mom trying to nurse a litter of pups. Hope things have improved since the last time you posted.

Stay safe, everyone. Old Man Winter has a few tricks up his sleeve for all of us yet.

Good morning gals!

Over the past week, I have been either busy at the trailer or sick in bed. Seems every other day I am dealing with one or the other. Gradually feeling better overall tho. Have lost quite a few days getting moved into the trailer tho. I will pack up more last minute stuff today and tomorrow and am hoping to be moved in with the cats by Tuesday or Wednesday for sure. Then will come back to the house to clean my room and bathroom, since Heather's new roommate is moving in at the end of the week.

I am at the point where I need to find more storage and shelving ideas. Definitely need three extra shelves in the pantry. I think I can fit one of those 3-drawer plastic bins under the sink area and can put my tupperwear things in there. Still need to find a place for bakeware. I will for sure need to do some more downsizing. I have a bin started already for things to get rid of.

Yesterday, there was a monthly birthday party at the clubhouse for those with January birthdays, so I figured I should go. I ended up sitting with my next door neighbor, Penny. She is really nice and we get along well. There are a few activities coming up this month that I think I will sign up for.

It still amazes me how quiet the park is. I hardly ever see anyone outside or hear anything. It is like everyone is either gone or staying inside. With this beautiful weather, you would think everyone would be outside taking advantage of it since the summer months are for staying inside.

I better get up and moving here and get my car loaded up. Have a good day and stay warm and safe from the storm out east.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, I wanted more room for my Tshirts and jeans. I bought a “bookcase “ for my bedroom. It has out quite well. I understand it all depends on the available space in your trailer.
I like living in my trailer. I think I adapted so well because I knew what to expect from my yers of traveling.
Especially now that I am so exhausted when I do anything I must rest on the couch frequently.
I had the ?queen? Bed taken out and Putin a twin bed. Changing the sheets is a hassle because I still cannot walk around the entire bed! I am fortunate to have my daughter to help with that chore.
I gathered several receipts ofvrysimple meals to cook so didn’t need much in the way of cook ware. You like to cook, so I can understand your dilemma with theook ware.!
I liked seeing pictures of your trailer.
Once you get settled I think you will enjoy living in a trailer.

I mowed the grass yesterday and got one faucet covered. Not doing much but watching the weather channel. It's 78 now and supposed to drop to 28 tonight. The line of storms is across the state from South to Northeast. The bottom is just at the Texas state line. It looks like it might come through here before dark. I sure hope so. There are tornado warnings in North Louisiana. The wind is blowing like crazy. You should see my hair when I come in. I probably should put the truck on the carport in case it hails. I need to go cover two faucets.

I still have a big bottle of hand sanitizer in my car and use some when I come out of a store. As soon as I get home I wash my hands with soap. So far I haven't caught anything in a long time. I even managed to survive camping with my sister. She usually gives me something.

Tina, hope Jane is feeling better. I used FortiFlora on Sugar when she was sick. I don't remember if I ordered it from Chewy or Amazon.

Barbie, you should be an expert on moving by now. I hope I never have to move.

It's time to move the 2024 files and start 2025. It's too windy to burn anything so I will have to wait until I can burn papers.

Thanks for sharing dog recommendations As you might imagine I have a pretty complete doggy 1st aid kit as well as French Tubes and paraphernalia useful for newborn puppies. Jane is on a probiotic. I had to test her stool to be sure it wasn’t something like coccidia. Most of us keep metronidazole on hand all the time for simple diarrhea. It works great the issue was/is that it is not recommended for lactating bitches and could harm the puppies. The second vet I saw recommended Pro-pectalin but didn’t carry it but had me order it from Amazon. Jane got her first dosage last night and has show dramatic improvement. I still think some of the puppies have stools that are too soft but am hoping the meds will work themselves through from momma to puppy in a beneficial manner. They continue to grow but even last night the whelping box seemed quieter and more relaxed. Jane was not whining to go out every hour or two. I saw her resting/ sleeping more between feeding and cleaning up the pups. Waiting for eyes to open any day. And soon the will be hearing.

I have a pot of soup bubbling gently on the stove, so that is what will be for dinner. I still need to eat some of the stuff in my freezer, AND control my grocery shopping for a while, but it will slowly give me more room. I tried to do a load of laundry here at this campground, but discovered the machines required you to download an app on your phone and then upload a minimum of $10!!! Nope. Going to wait to do laundry--will be back to wearing shorts in a couple of days. Office said they hate the new laundry system and are waiting for their contract to end so they could go back to the old way of managing the machines themselves.

Almost freezing here at night, but got to 57 today during the day with lots of sunshine. Heading south and east tomorrow, so will be hitting nice weather.

I did look at the radar map and saw the horrible cold spell. It seems to be mostly in the states west of the Great Lakes and south into places like Kansas, and it is also in New ENgland. Hope everyone is doing fine out there.

I think there is hope ... that the Christmas Movies are ending they advertised Murder she Wrote!!! yea... so decided to look at the movies coming up Diagnose Murder starts at 5:00 yep it's coming to an end guess I could have looked for something else but was on chat and it was just back grand noise... I can't believe my nephew is flying up from Vegas on Monday leaving on Friday and bringing no winter clothes because he didn't want to buy any no coat just a hoodie tennis shoes and shorts... probably the nylon type ones.... when I found out that he just didn't want to buy any I stopped feeling sorry for him... he even lived here you would think he would think differently ... oh as his mom say's he is an adult need to remember that
in one of the books I read recently there was a recipe in the back that I decided that I really wanted to make did it tonight... used two chicken breasts will hopefully eat the other one some time soon or put it all in a zip lock bag and freeze it... it's a rice and broccoli recipe if I was to make it again I think I would use cooked chicken chunk it up mix it all together and back as it was the rice was drier than I liked... but did like it or perhaps I was just hungry...
we are just cold here Anne mid 20's I think you can find snow that doesn't go over cars and houses  but frankly your temps sound great at this moment
Judy that is a bizarre way of doing things in a RV campground.... people in and out all the time
guess it's a way of lining the pockets...
Barbie I am sure you will get all set up and find space for what you need.... when you have time you will need to enjoy your outside space...
Lyn glad to hear from you
Karen that sounds like a great town to explore
Tina I am sure that you breath a sigh of relieve as you see improvements here is hoping the puppies don't get it... hoping that the med that Jane is taking will help the puppies as well
BJ sounds like you win with the weather take care
Martha I am glad that you haven't caught anything I haven't either keep thinking I ought to go in and get some of the vaccines just keep forgetting
will be seeing family just wish it was for a different reason
you all take care have a great day
