Good afternoon ladies!

Carol, I sure hope this long Covid leaves Bill soon. I'd love to hear about you two taking a trip somewhere. Beth, the picture Shirl sent you is only a few hours from where we used to live in MD. If you can tolerate the traffic getting there, it's a neat place to visit. We got our supplemental insurance when we both signed up for Medicare and we each pay less than $ 1000 a year for our plan. Last fall, we did look at other plans, but that would have been much more than what we pay now. There was a conversation about beets, and I will only make the pickled beets. Pat, it was good hearing from you!

We've been busy the past week getting things done since Hurricane Milton paid us a visit. We had the rest of the electrical problem fixed but we opted out of getting the portable generator as we have the generator in the motorhome, plus the water plant here doesn't have any type of backup system and we can't use the toilet or shower in the casita, so we'd have to use the bathroom in the coach. So it made sense to nix that idea. On Tuesday we went to Sun City Center to visit friends. That is about 1-1/2 hours south of us. Wednesday, Steve had a Dr. appt. to go over his lab stuff and everything was fine. We ran a few errands after that, and when we got home about 12:30, he put an 8+ pound pork loin on his Green Egg and turned 1/3 of it into pulled pork. The rest of the cooked meat was cut in sections and frozen. On Thursday we had a new TV antenna put on the casita, so we longer have to stream shows. Steve is happy again. We went to check on his pickup truck, which is still in at the body shop. Between two beds being shipped that were in worse shape than ours and two hurricanes, plus us not being in a hurry to get it back since we have a car, it's close to done. I saw the front half and the paint job looks so good. The bed should have been painted Saturday or tomorrow and we "might" be able to pick it up Tuesday. Lots of places are still cleaning up from the two hurricanes. It doesn't matter in which direction we drive, their is debris almost everywhere. Our daytime temperature hover between the low 60's in the mornings to mid 80's in the afternoons. I can't complain about that.

The dogs and I made it back from Jane's Michigan adventure and now we wait to see if the rendezvous with handsome "Viddy" will be successful. If it is, I know what I will be doing at Christmas time. It is about the time the puppies would be expected. It also will mean that I won't be traveling to visit in Florida in Jan or February. Lark and I will be helping raise Jane's puppies. I think I may have mentioned about one of the tires blowing out on the interstate in WV. The tires were only 4.5 years old but I had all four replaced before we headed to Michigan. I wasn't willing to roll the dice on them.

So after rushing everywhere for a couple weeks, life here in SW Ohio should slow down and I will stay busy going to activities at the Y and trying to maintain what health I have left. Visited my older brother yesterday which also reminded me to keep up with my exercises and activities. He has some cardiac issues and has lost overall strength and is using a walker full time now. The numbers of our age don't tell us nearly as much about what to expect of our present and/or future health as our genetics, luck, accidents and life choices....

I try to read regularly. And even when I don't I do think about you all out there...each fighting their own dragons while attempting to enjoy the lives we have. Take care. The dogs and I will let you know if we find any good adventures.

Good afternoon. It is an odd day today, it is pretty mild out 61 cloudy with a peek of sun every once in a while but pretty windy this afternoon. So put the covers on the chairs and put a bungee cord around each one to keep them from blowing away. They are vinyl so the wind was just billowing them so problem solved now. Just did some laundry, dusted, cleaned the bathrooms then had some lunch. Spent the last couple hours getting caught up on some of my shows from this week. Having a lazy afternoon.
Irmi that makes perfect sense not to get a generator when you have the motorhome. Tina very exciting having puppies again. Nothing cuter than puppies. They are alot of work but very well worth it. I really really need to wash my car, it lightly rained when I was out and now the dust has found a home. Supposed to get more rain but still think if it isnt windy tomorrow I will give it a quick wash. I would do it today but I dont need another shower and with the wind gusting off an on that is what I would have.

We've gotten almost 2" of rain in last 24 hours. It rained hard all night so I could hardly hear my bedroom TV. There was a couple of hours of sunshine this morning, but a friend called and we talked for an-hour-and-a-half, so by the time I got out of bed and dressed, the sun was gone and it was raining again. (Cell service is weak here, and for some strange reasons, phone works better in bedroom than in front area, so i stayed under the covers while we talked.) I did have a brief break from the rain a little later, so I took the two bags of garbage I had ready, and took some pictures of the huge waves on the ocean. Even with low tide, the waves were crashing almost out to the horizon. Pacific did not look happy or very pacific today and yesterday! I also saw a little rabbit huddled in the wet grass--also looked unhappy and cold.

I am back inside and got my little heaters going again so I am warm and cozy. I had opened all of the blinds and even opened one of my ceiling vents to get rid of all the inside humidity that was collecting on the windows. And even with the horrible weather, people are pulling in and setting up campsites, although I did notice some of the people in no-hookup sites moved to ones with electric. I assume they needed heat more than they needed an ocean view!!!

Hi everyone!~~~
Evening time here in Apache Junction. I'm at the KOA 5 minutes from the house. Sounds dumb, but the camper will be going in for repairs this month (wheel bearings if needed, doing something with the pantry that's fallen out 3 times, etc). Overall check-up.

Plus I have alot to bring over (things that where in storage). I want to completely empty the camper except for dishes and pans and decide what I really need when I hit the road again.

Beth as of right now, I'm hoping to head to Assateage & Chincoteague, probably in the Spring. I had plans when Covid hit and we all know how needed things where then with campground closure, etc. That's when I said "Good bless the KOA's". They were opening for all the Canadians that had to get back home or lose their health insurance, so I lucked out and got 2 weeks on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Next two days will be long. Bringing stuff to the house, Monday gas will be turned on (I have to be there) and Tuesday some furniture is being delivered. Slowly the place will come together.
