Last Sunday of September

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Sunday of September

Good afternoon! Lots of goings on here! Barbie getting ready to move out and head to Tucson, Beth, sure hope your ac continues to work for your trip to Texas. Judy, I love COE sites and the fact the rates are lower. Enjoy your time there. It’s hard to believe we are having fall and you gals on the west coast are still dealing with the high temps. Sue, my leaves are starting to fall but right now there’s nothing I can do about it. Thy say it may be some sun on Wednesday but probably Thursday before we see a full day. I’ve lost count of how many days we’ve had rain. But in the whole scheme of things I should be grateful for what we’ve gotten compared to south of us. The photos are heartbreaking. I tried to adjust the belt on Buddy’s treadmill and I messed up something. It would stop when he stepped toward the front of it. So I messed with the belt adjustment and made it worst. Finally googled it and now it’s fixed! I think the belt is still slipping to one side but I’m half afraid to mess with it! Buddy was on it for about 5 minutes testing it for me but I still need to attach the side panels so I’ll get that done later so he can have a good run! Whew, I was worried for a bit that I really broke it! Guess I just needed to walk way from it and think what to do! BJ, you asked about name of treadmill and thinking you might mean the brand. It’s a DogPACER. Got it from Amazon with Prime so no shipping cost. Time to start thinking about fixing dinner since I really didn’t have any lunch. Think I’ll fix the pork chop I get at the store yesterday. I spent some time vacu-sealing a few pieces of meat I picked up yesterday. Another job I need to tackle is organizing my freezer so I can find what I want and know I have! So hope you all have a good rest on your day.

Been busy the past couple days! I have pretty much everything packed up other than last minute stuff. Today I have been cleaning. Just have the living room to clean, and then will mop the floors in the whole house.

I am picking up the U-Haul shortly and will get it loaded up in the morning with some help. I really don't know if the trailer will be too big, too small, or just right. With stuff in two different places, it is hard to tell. It think it will be fine, tho.

I will have a little relaxing time before I head out on Tuesday after noon for Yuma. I can't check in until 3pm so I won't leave too early. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive there.

Have a good evening!

Good afternoon ladies!

Sharon, I'm so tickled for you that you figured out the problem with Buddy's treadmill. Google is my best friend! Barbie, I know you have to be excited to be moving and starting another phase of your life. I'm looking forward to following your adventures.

We have friends from church that summer in Ashville NC and we can't get in touch with them. We're sure they're without power and I heard on the news today that food was being airlifted into the area because trucks can't make it at this point. They are older than we are and I'm very concerned about them. It's hard to believe that a hurricane can travel so far and do so much damage when we got almost nothing.

Steve's pickup is still in the body shop. Two beds were ordered to put on his truck and they were both sent back because they were in worse condition than Steve's truck. It looks like they'll have to fix Steve's bed, even though they didn't want to go that route. I'm sure it'll cost more than their original estimate but they said the body would be in brand new condition when we got it back. I'll let you know in another week or so. We love that truck.

Well, so much for that plan!

I went to pick up the U-Haul and discovered I have an old hitch pin in the receiver that is a locking pin. I have no idea what happened to the keys for it. I had removed the ball mount but put the hitch pin back on the receiver, so I can't put the ball mount on until I can find some place that can cut that off for me tomorrow. Good thing I am not leaving tomorrow! I had totally forgot that was even on there. So loading is postponed. Hoping the help I had lined up can still help me once I get this taken care of.

I just read the death toll on this latest hurricane is up to 93. So sad. And they say it could still be rising.

Got my flu and Covid shots today. My friend Ginger visited for a bit. Eating too much trying to get rid of everything. Doesn't that make for great reasoning lol. My trunk and backseat are going to be full. I'm sure of it. But I'll be better in the spring. No big buying anymore unless I have a final year round place which may never happen.

Good luck, Barbie. I would have thought the UHaul folks might have had something to help. Hope you get that taken care of in the morning.

Sharon, isn't it fun to figure things out and get them done? Good job.

Irmi, I hope you hear from your friends soon and that they are on ok. It was good go see on FB that Liz has power back.

Made it to Columbia River. Going to spend more than a week here. Got a few projects to do--ironing a couple of pairs of pants, organizing RV repair bills, and printing out a few more cards with the address of my blog on it. Also want to work on writing about my childhood for my grandkids.

Stopped at a Penney's on way here and got a haircut. Also picked up a couple of new nightgowns. I am very fussy about them being mostly cotton and wide enough to be comfortable. It may seem weird, but I really like to have extra nightgowns because I was hospitalized in 2006 right after my knee replacement with acute pancreatitis and had only a couple of nightgowns with me, for a total of 14 days during the Christmas holiday. (I hate hospital gowns.) One friend took them and washed them, but I never want to end up spending time again in a hospital bed without clean night clothes. (Sons were there at beginning but did not think to bring me extra nightgowns--typical men, I guess.) I know this sounds silly, but I now have six nightgowns and if someone calls 911, first thing I am going to do is toss nightgowns and a robe in a bag!!! Will toss in phone and charger, also, I think. I'll also never forget the other friend who came and washed my hair for me while I was in the hospital. I was hooked up to multiple IVs and could not shower, plus still had stitches in my replaced knee, so I never felt really clean. Not a good time, though I do remember best thing being the morphine!!

Still chilly here, and very windy, so rough drive today getting here. Hope rest of country cools down soon.

It was 95 again today. I mixed up a spray bottle of weed killer and sprayed where I can't mow. Had to come in and cool off. Other than wash a load of clothes I didn't do much else except play with the dog. I didn't even cook, ate leftovers.

Barbie, it looks like Karma doesn't want you to move. Hope you can find someone to get the pin out.

The flooding from the hurricane is so terrible, It looks like some towns have been wiped out. There are many posts on Facebook of people looking for missing family.

Tomorrow night I have one of the Meetup meals. I said I would make something for an event the Cattlewomen are holding on Wednesday. Might just go to Sam's or Costco and pick up cookies or something. Next weekend some of my camping friends will be camping but doubt I will go. Not much to do at that campground that I want to do. On Saturday night they have music and dancing in a big barn. A little bit of that goes a long way with me.

I hadn't heard the count that is just sad... hoping the waters recede and things will go back to normal... but it will be awhile before that happens ... here's hoping those missing are found safe and sound... it's got to be a worry
when do you leave for Texas Beth...
Barbie that is the pits that black cloud hanging over you needs to move on... now to find somewhere to get the pin removed...
Judy did you get your new tv hooked up? enjoy your new spot
Sharon I wouldn't have even known where to start you did good my friend
my dd came over just to visit plus I left a batch of clothes at grandson's house they weren't dry when I had to leave so she said she would bring them over...
the kid downstairs made supper for the most part chicken Alfredo was really good need to figure out how to reheat it so that it doesn't become not tasty
giving thoughts to the route out to Washington will have to decide probably on Friday as we were driving out the drive
you all have a great day

I looked on YouTube about how to remove a locking hitch pin. There are a few different ways but they all involve tools I don't have. I am thinking an auto body shop would have something to cut thru it. Will call a few places in the morning.

Shiela, Alfredo is hard to warm up since it tends to separate. I have never had good luck with reheating leftovers of that.

Judy, did you get your RV fixed yet? Glad you will be staying in one spot for awhile. The one thing my mom always asked me to bring to the hospital for her was a pair of tweezers. She had to pluck her chin hairs every day! I almost threw a pair of them in her casket so she would have them with her on the other side!

Beth, how long will you be in Benson before leaving for Texas?

TV is fixed but I am having trouble getting used to it. Color is too light even though I tried to adjust it. Also new tv is a little wider so about 3” are hidden behind a cabinet. Tried to find x that but California son is very good with TVs and he offered to make adjustments when I get there the week before Thanksgiving. Just hard to get used to new things sometimes.
