Good morning all. Been awhile since I’ve posted but trying to read and keep up with everyone. I’ve been out of commission with some medical problems that are still unresolved and specialist appointment not until October plus within the medical system I’ve been with for many years I couldn’t get anything until end of January. Went to a different system in order to get the October appointment. Crazy!
Needless to say this has definitely been a challenge to be able to get things done around the house and no travel at all this summer. Doesn’t do much for my mood. Weather wise we seem to be going into a dry spell with temps in the 80’s. Glad we got through the 90’s. With the humidity that was miserable but so glad for air conditioning. Can’t remember a time when we had that many days with those temps and it makes me glad I’m not dealing with the over 100’s some of you are dealing with. Poor Buddy didn’t get to walk much between the weather and how I’ve been feeling. We are still working on the treadmill but he isn’t a fan of it but I keep working on building his time on it. We both still enjoy getting out and into the woods more! Better smells for him to sniff. Barbie, happy that you are finally able to sell your home. Sue, I sure could use some of your energy! Sounds like some fun trips have been had by some of you. Love hearing about them. Not much else happening around here but I did want to at least check in! Hope you all have a good week!

Good morning Sharon, it is a nice cool morning and had coffee on my back deck while Emma checked out the yard and did her business. The cool air felt very good. Was 58 and cloudy I am loving it Not sure what we will warm up to today. I am sorry you are having health issues. I know about the long wait to see a doctor. Especially a new specialist that you are not yet a patient. I think I have established my doctors now and hope I dont have to add any more. I had to wait almost 3 months just to get an appt with my cataract surgeon. Then it was going to be 6 weeks out for surgery but lucked out and they had a cancellation so I was able to get the first eye done this week and second one next week.

Beth I love lavender too So glad you got to go there. It is also a scent (lightly) that I can tolerate. Hopefully next year will be a bit cooler summer for you.

The good news on all my beneficiaries is I can change them any time online. I dont know if I will have money left, we never know ha ha I have my selected charities along with some gift choices. As for my car when my Mom was ill she signed her title just did not date it.
Barbie that is my mantra since retirement "there is always tomorrow" ha ha

Not much on my agenda today again as I am limited on what I can do until later this month when my cataract surgery is fully healed. Oh well this is way more important to behave.

Good morning, Sharon, and all who follow.

So sorry that you have been having health problems. I don't know what is happening in our country - it seems that everywhere people are having difficulty accessing medical care. I do wonder if it is people "of a certain age" that are having this difficulty - but I hope not.

I send you my best wishes, and hope that your problems do not worsen in the time before your appointment, and are easily resolved.

As for high temperatures. . . oh my. I have lived where I live (in the northern part of California's Central Valley, a ways north of the state capitol of Sacramento) for nearly fourteen years, and I can't remember a summer so hot as this one.

Generally our hottest month here is August (if August is hotter than it has been thus far in July, we are in for a "treat" ). . . anyway, here are the "official" high temps so far for the month of July. These temps are from weather.gov, the U. S. Government weather website at https://www.weather.gov/wrh/Climate?wfo=sto

I say "official" because I have an interest in weather, and have several "placed in the shade" outside thermometers that I use to track the exact temp outside my house. My thermometers consistently show 2 or 3 degrees hotter than the "official" numbers. Not unusual - the closest government weather station is about ten miles away from me, and a short distance from a river - making it a slightly "cooler spot" than where I live.

Night time temps generally "cool down" to the mid to low 80's. Not much relief. My A/C is going 24/7 $$$$, although I set the thermostat to about 83 during the day, and down to "only" 79 at night (so I am able to sleep).

So, anyway, my temps will be a few degrees warmer than these numbers:

That's right - only three days this month that the "official" temps have not topped over 100 degrees. By my reckoning, since I am a ways from the weather station, there have been no days thus far in July where the temp has not topped 100 degrees where I live.

And, although we have not - yet - had any really major fires here, with no rain since May, and California's millions of acres of chaparral (brush) wildlands baking in the sun, conditions are certainly ripe - and getting riper by the day - for a major conflagration.

Good Morning, I spent the day at my trailer yesterday. It was 83* out there. My AC works very well!!! It is always cool down town, but it is east of me to where I am moving.

I will not be moving into the trailer until I get the ramp built! (I am not building it). I am able to go up the stairs now on “all fours”. It is really not safe.
What horrible temps Annie.
My daughter returned home to NH yesterday. Only had about two hour delay in taking off. It is scary what a little glitch will do to stop the world!

My grands are slowly returning from their vacations. No one got caught in the glitch.

Afternoon. Having a late lunch as was helping with coffee and donuts at church. Group that is doing it, is short handed, so couple from my group also belong to that group, stepped in and asked me to come too. So it was last week and this week. Think They might have enough for next week.

Another beautiful day here. Temp is 76 right now. Supposed to be that way all week, 75-80 ish. Not doing anything today. Probably get some legal stuff together for Tuesday and also type and compile my lists of bills etc. that are paid automatically online line through my investment company bill pay, along with the account numbers etc. Credit Union, Investment firm/financial advisor and all that and anything else, so who ever takes care of my stuff after I’m gone will know who and what to notify/cancel. . And make sure my Password book is neat as I’ve been dropping some accounts I no longer use or have changed passwords, so been crossing some off.

Judy, hope they find a reason for the dog not being up to par. Lymphoma could well be it, but as Beth mentioned, missing the family can be a reason too. Happened with my one collie Penny. Although she lived here with my dad and I when I took my trip to Alaska and I was gone for the month she went into a mope. My dad was getting very concerned for her because she just had no interest in anything. he did take her to the vet at one point because she did have a urinary tract infection I think it was. But she still was in the dumps all the time. Once I came home and she realize that I was back, within a day she was back to her old self and he said she was not the same dog she was after I left. Dogs are known to mope when their owners are gone for a long period of time, and some even die from heartbreak.
I hope you and your cousin get together Otsego. You wil be just a little over a mile and a half up the road from me. Otsego was the park I I used to work at.

Sharon, I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well. But it's inexcusable that you can't get in to find out the problem. If it's serious, I say go to an emergency room or if less serious, a clinic and see if that gets you further along. I feel lucky that when somethings wrong I've been able to get right in. After someone heard I had a UTI, they told me they called their doctor and was told they could'nt get her in until late September. I talked her into going to a clinic. She got tested and meds the same day. Fight for yourself!

We had rainstorms most of yesterday afternoon and evening. The best part is they brought the temperature down and I slept with my bedroom window open. The temp drop was not expected, but very welcomed. Were supposed to have rain coming in again this afternoon, I hope with the same results but won't count on it. I'm watching for clouds too stay coming over so I can hopefully get TY out for a good walk before it starts.

We had 5 new fires start last night from the thunder and lightning. We now have 86 fires burning in Oregon. Some small and some bigger. Incredible. I hate it when we get lightning as this happens every year.



It is very cloudy outside and so far only 77. I live right by the Airport weather station for this area and my temps are always a few degrees higher than what they report. I hope no more lightning. I do love this cooler day tho

Speaking of lightening, was read some Interesting info about lightening strikes and cloud to cloud lightening. This part of MI thry say. Has about 10 of those a year. Other parts especially the SE and east central has way more. We have more lightening flashes with what storms we get then those other two I mentioned above. Sorry to hear about more fires Karen.

Sharon, I agree with Beth. Bypass the doc and find a clinic. If they think it’s something more serious, they will get you ntto the doctor.

While Iwas going through my legal stuff, I came across this and thought I would throw it out here in case somebody’s trying to figure out where to start.

I’m like you Beth, I’ve changed beneficiaries more than once and have had to redo my will 3 times in the past 21 years, due to loss of executors.2 passed away, one now moving out of state. This is Round 4 coming up.

Unfortunately, I don't think her illness is due to missing her family. She had been losing weight for a couple of months, so they and I were feeding her larger amounts and more often. And although she could not quite understand why she could not sleep in the bed with me, she was enjoying a lot of people and animal watching through my windows, and she was fine and energetic on our walks. The two things I noticed was that she was drinking a lot of water and peeing more than once, or at least trying to, every time I took her out. I had told my son that maybe she had a UTI or diabetes. And she was acting funny at home after she was picked up on the previous Sunday. The vet also found some swollen lymph glands and biopsied one. She was better yesterday and son said she was fine today, but that could be from steroids vet gave her.

Keeping our fingers crossed.

I am at a state park near Sandusky and spent about 45 minutes working to remove fog from one headlight cover. If this does not work, I am giving up or might just look to buy new ones.

PS - After chasing a fly for two days, I finally zapped him!!! He kept landing on me and was driving me nuts.

Good afternoon friends!

Sharon, I started going to a medical clinic and saw a nurse practitioner who referred me to a cardiologist that I am still seeing. So that sounds like a route you may want to take. Karen, sorry I got you and Beth mixed up on the cataract surgery. Anita & Lyn, its good earing from both of you. Sheila, I'm sorry about the loss in your family and everything else you are going through. We have not created a will yet but have beneficiaries named on everything, so that is something else we need to check into.

After church today, we met friends from church at a restaurant for lunch and went to see the play Godspell. We saw it before we were married and this one with much younger people was magnificent! I am so glad we went. Tomorrow is a trip to the DMV to renew tags and registration for two of our vehicles. Then to the grocery store to get makings for cookies. It seems like there is never a dull moment here.

my dd#3 called today and we visited about going out to the funeral finally decided that we wouldn't go... it was going to be a really fast trip and no way we could change that... so not really enough time to visit with anyone.... I am hoping that it will be zoomed and that I can see it that way... it's always hard to loose a loved one .... but it is also part of life and we just have to trust in our Heavenly Father and His timing...
it was a typical Sunday did see a rather unusual creature... not sure what it was possibly a wolverine but not sure about it... he thought he was go to church as well well at least visit the lawns... then mom came into my room to see if I wanted to see the deer in the yard... a nice size buck think the horns were what is called in the velvet.... I think that is the term not seen one in that stage up this close he was almost on the deck... I was hoping he wouldn't come up and feast on my plants a beautiful animal though ...
Barbie it sounds like a good plan to take storage stuff it may even be cheaper in AZ than in CA ...
Sharon hoping you can get some help quicker that that I think I agree to the thoughts of a insta care type place... get some idea of what is going on...
my grandson has wanted a dog for forever... by his wife has health issues and they've not been able to agree on a dog yesterday the neighbor came over he is a breeder of standard size poodles... I typically wouldn't go to a breeder for several reasons one the cost ect but they seem to know the neighbor anyway he came over and talked to the parents in private said he had some puppies that the person who wanted them doesn't now for various reasons... anyway they got a boy standard poodle today named him Spook can't wait to see pictures... this breed fits in with the needs of his wife we will hope that it works out well... and he was free
Judy hope they figure out what is wrong with the dog and that it's a not scary bad have a good visit with your cousin
Irmi cookies sound good... I keep thinking I'm going to make banana bread wish I had the smaller pans well I do in the 5th wheel and with the slides in don't think they could be gotten not without taking out everything on one shelve
Beth I would have enjoyed the lavender farm as well as the farmers market... how was the bread?
