Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday June 26

I am grateful that it is much cooler here today after the 110 feel like temperatures we had yesterday. We has a nice rain come in around 8;30 in the evening which was a huge relief. So far though my day hasn’t gone that well! I had an eye appointment and as I walked up to the receptionist she didn’t say good morning just- you don’t have an appointment today. I was a bit startled and she repeated it and added there are no doctors here today. I said sorry but I have a card that says I do. She looked up my record and said it wasn’t until August. So I left and I stopped at the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. As I was approaching the window a young woman on her phone was standing over to one side said in a very rude voice ‘I’m in line' and moved toward me. I just looked at her and she repeated in an angry voice that she was in line. I said excuse me as she walked to the window. I though well she certainly hasn’t heard about respecting your elders. As she left I looked at her and said in the sweetest voice I could come up with, I hope you have a very nice day. She hesitated but guess she decided to keep quiet. When I got home I found the card that said I had an eye appointment today so I called and said I was in earlier and was told I didn’t have an appointment, would you like for me to send you a copy? She went into an explanation that after I had left she looked it up and said they had rescheduled it. So I said well it would have been nice when I came in if you had greeted me with a Good Morning rather than you don’t have an appointment. Maybe the heat yesterday messed with my normal good nature or I should have followed through with Shirl's thought of dancing necked in the rain.
Barbie, I hope someone comes soon and buys your place I know you must be ready to GO.

Oh, that person would have really got me upset. And I try to take things in stride, but sometimes it's harder than others.

Question for everyone. Have any of you ever used Angi to find a worker for something you need done? I just looked and it appears that I could get someone yet this week at a price I could accept. I'm sitting here waffling but the worker I want to use is just too busy and full of excuses right now.

Cooler here back in Michigan, but the humidity is bad and I still feel sticky outside. I spent some time in the cemetery and found the two graves I was looking for, and then headed west into Michigan. I spent an extra hour in Port Huron visiting a lighthouse and getting a tour. Nice place where Lake Huron narrows down and empties into the St Clair River and finally the Detroit River, going past downtown, and finally into Lake Erie. Saw one big lake freighter go past. So tonight I am part way to Traverse City and will make it there by tomorrow.

Remember I posted a couple of days ago about my 14-year-old granddaughter not knowing how to use paper matches to light the candles on my birthday cake? The friend I had dinner with on last Sunday told me one of her younger grandkids was puzzled when she saw a bar of soap--did not know what to do with it because her parents had always used liquid soap at their house!!

Will be nice to see my niece and her family at the graduation!!

It got up to 97 today. I actually made it to Walmart today. I wanted some 1/2 & 1/2 but it didn't make it to my list so forgot it. I am having lunch with some of my camping friends tomorrow so maybe I will make it to the grocery store. After I have been out in the heat for a while I don't want to do anything but come home.

BJ, I don't know how businesses make it with some of the employees they have. The last time I went to Burger King two of the employees were arguing instead of taking orders and there was a kid running around the kitchen. I won't even go to the Burger King in Abbeville because the food is so bad. A new Mexican restaurant is posting on Facebook. We already had two Mexican Restaurants, a Taco Bell and a food truck selling Mexican food.

I have never used Angi but have thought about it. I need to replace the ceiling in the kitchen and dining room and keep putting it off. That will be such a mess. I would have to put Luna in the camper. She would lose her mind. The guy I called to do the dirt work called me this morning. He said he would come see what I want done the next time he gets rained out because he is on a job now. I hope I don't have to cancel a camping trip when he wants to do the job.

I watched the 6:00 weather and it looked like we had rain coming. I hurried up and took the trash out to burn. It got dark for a little while but we never did get any rain.

another sleepy day for mom at least whenever I looked at her she as been asleep got up for bk and supper heard her go the bathroom a couple of times... but really didn't eat much... at least I don't think she ate much... but I have quit monitoring what she eats put it in front of her and toss away what she doesn't eat...
the nurse told me that they will eat what amount they need just is hard to watch...
it cooled off today would have been a good day to plant the plants had I had the energy to do so but it rained gave me a good reason not to ... perhaps it will be better tomorrow energy wise and weather wise... the thing is when I looked at the weather app it said low chance of rain like 15 % and it rained when I looked at tomorrows at the same time it was much higher like in the 60% so wonder if it will rain tomorrow as well...
I did call my sister in law and all is well with all they are in a higher part of a low area if that makes sense
Iowa isn't a high altitude state
we had hot dogs tonight I hope to feel well enough tomorrow to make something more than just toss it together.... saw one of those reels on FB that sounded good some think I have all the ingredients might put that together tomorrow... or not guess it quite depends upon how much I sleep the afternoon away..
I have never used Angi's either good luck with finding the handiman that you need Beth..
the young man that is living in the basement picked me up some Ricola cough drops I think I have a supply for a couple of years ... family sized bags and three of them... oh well I went through a normal size in like two days...
you all have a great day
