Mornin- ladies!~~~

Just a quick drive-by "Hello". I made it to Flagstaff, AZ. Easy 3 hours. Rise in elevation from 1700' to 6800' brought much more comfortable temps, with a drop of 40°. No space heater needed, but I slept with socks last night. :)

Have a good day ladies!

Morning Cheryl and all. Glad you finally got to where you got some hear relief Cheryl. Definitely take your time wandering back to IL. I’m sure you have heard of the flooding in the Midwest. That brings up a thought, Shelia, has any of it affected your family in IA? All that water is heading to the Mississippi slow but sure. River took out a railroad bridge in Sioux City, IA. There is a dam breach imminent near Rapidan, MN. People are being told to evacuate. Just heard a dam has partially collapsed, don’t know if it was that one or not.

On the home scene, a line of storms came through just awhile ago. Nothing severe here, just normal summer thunderstorm, but heavy rain. Will be clearing later. Looking nice rest of week.

Accomplished what I wanted to do yesterday. Solar lights up, new bed mat down in truck bed, grass all mowed, 4th of July decorations out at entrance. Neighbor put up red, white and blue mini lights on the sign roof. Walks are all blown off, so I’m caught up again. Today I have an appt. To touch base with new NP since my other one retired. Should be a quick one as my Medicare Wellness checkup isn’t till November. Then off to pizza buffet after since appt. Is at noon. Shelia, I’ll post a pic of the Darlings outfits soon as I take one. But for right now I’m goi gvto leave a flower bouquet for all of you to enjoy. These are my Asiactic Lilies by my flagpole.

That flooded area and partial bridge collapse is close to Mankato, MN where my nephew is a police officer. I am sure that is keeping him and his fellow officers on high alert. The Mississippi River in St Paul is supposed to crest today. The Crow River near where I used to live is also flooded now. What a mess! After getting very little snow all winter, now they get hit with monsoon rains! The lake I lived on is also nearing flood stage.

Cheryl, your temperature sounds wonderful. My thermometer only says 91 but I'm sitting in front of a fan after going out to feed the cats and unhook the trailer. I went and mowed in Maurice yesterday afternoon. I waited until about 4:00 and it was partly cloudy so not too bad. I had to mow twice since it had been a month since I mowed. I hope that doesn't happen again. We have had so much rain and parts of that yard can get muddy. The rivers are full here. Last year the Mississippi River was very low near Baton Rouge and New Orleans. They were worried in New Orleans about salt water intrusion because they get the city water from the river. Hopefully the water headed down river won't be too much.

As much as I hate to, I think I will have to go to Walmart.

Good morning again...I was thinking when I posted on here, that it was Monday's post. So I will post some more! :D

I got a text from my agent yesterday morning that there is a guy interested in my place (he saw the listing on our community FB page which I recently updated.) He is not from this area but has a friend who is in town here and he wants his friend to come look at the house. My agent is out of town so I will be showing the friend the house this afternoon! Luckily, this place is still nice and clean and neat from my visit with David and Julie. Just need to put a few things away here and there and clean up any random fur-bunnies laying around.

Went to WM yesterday morning for a few things, including cat food, litter, and toilet paper, which I was totally out of :o So we are all good now in the "potty" department! I still have left-overs to eat from when we ate out so I didn't need to buy any food, just milk.

Just hot, hot, and more hot! Will be in the low one-hundred teens all week. The cats don't even want to be out in the porch now.

I stopped at the Habitat For Humanity store a couple weeks ago where I found a basket full of gourds, so I got a couple little ones. I also saw a cute little black and white stuffed cat in a little cat bed. It reminded me on Bootsy, the stray tuxedo cat we had here that was a favorite of Gloria's. He would come in her house and lay in her lap for hours and sometimes even spend the night. So I bought this little cat and brought it to her last week. I thought she was gonna cry! She loved it!

David is scheduled for surgery at the end of August to remove the tumor on his adrenal gland near his kidney. They are both really scared about the surgery but they have a really good, experienced surgeon. I am thinking about going out there to be with them for that. I will have to see what is going on here then, and save up a little money for gas to go there and back. Julie really doesn't have anyone there to help her or support her thru that. Her son and his new wife who live in Phoenix, just left on a 3 month long honeymoon in South America and I don't think they will be back by then. Julie and David are flying up to MN for a couple weeks to visit her brother before then.

I better get up and dressed. I think I will park my car next door so the house looks nicer without it sitting in front. Need to call security and let them know when this guy is coming.

Have a good day!

I am in Sarnia, Ontario, today. Drove over the Blue Water Bridge from Port Huron, MI, yesterday, and the view to the north from the bridge is spectacular. The bridge goes over the St. Clair River, which empties Lake Huron at the very bottom of the lake, so you can see the very blue Lake Huron. The bridge always reminds me of my grandmother who lived in Sarnia before she and my grandfather moved to Detroit so he could work in the auto plants. She was always talking about the bridge and how wonderful it was instead of the ferry they had to use before that.

Because Michigan is surrounded by the Great Lakes, there are only three bridges you can take into Canada--one in Detroit into Windsor, one in Port Huron at Sarnia, and the third from Sault Ste. Marie. Michigan, into Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. There is also a tunnel in downtown Detroit and a new bridge under construction just south of Detroit, which is badly needed because of the heavy truck traffic between the countries which cause very long backups on the bridges in Port Huron and Detroit. (Plan on two hours if you are crossing, though coming in yesterday was only about an hour.)

I was going to go tromping through the cemetery today, but it rained very heavily last night and there is now a strong wind warning. I decided to sleep in and laze around today because I don't feel like driving in the wind or tromping through a wet cemetery. Should be better tomorrow, and other than getting across the bridge and through Customs, I don't have much of a drive tomorrow.

Luna wanted out so we went out the front door. She decided to go down the ramp and got stung by a wasp on her front leg. There was a nest on the side and she set them off. I gave her a Benadryl so hope that was ok.

Barbie, that was nice that you gave your old neighbor the cat. At my last Meetup dinner someone was talking about nursing homes giving residents mechanical cats or dogs. One of the ladies has cats too so I told her that we will still be able to have a cat in the nursing home. It looks like they could schedule surgery for your brother sooner instead of making him wait over a month. Hope the guy likes your house.

Parts of Wisconsin got a lot of rain. I don't know if this link will work, it's from FB, but this was along the Great River road in Ferryville. That water is coming through a fence across the road and down into the Mississippi after a rain last week. I lived in that town and never saw anything like it. We worried when the Mississippi would crest and the road would flood from the opposite side.

Well, the guy cancelled. :( He needed to fly back to Canada earlier than planned.

Martha, they need to monitor some things with him before they can do surgery. He needs certain numbers (blood pressure, heart rate, etc) to come down some before they do surgery on him. They have him on meds to get those down.

So, I have nothing planned for the day now. I should start going thru the boxes of photos that are in the porch. That will take awhile to go thru. I have a few personal VHS tapes I need to get transferred to DVD's. Not sure where I can get that done or how much it will cost tho. Will have to check around.

that is too bad Barbie was hoping that he would tell his friend that it would work well!!! hopefully this won't change the other person's mind...
when you first mentioned the flooding said that it was in the NW part of the state.... my family is in the NE part of the state...but after Beth mentioned Wisconsin and the river road I do believe I need to make a call tomorrow... see what sister in law tells me... my nephew lives up in the North East part of the state sil lives just off I-80 probably an hour or so from Illinois...
Mom's nurse was here today they really don't rush off mom was sleeping before she even left...
I did look at the papers seems I have acute Bronchitis... messed the 10 dose of the inhaler guess I will do it later ... back is hurting from coughing so much I took an nap after the nurse left waking up far later than I planned... I was going to go out and plant some plants that didn't happen perhaps tomorrow... but they all got watered including the inside plants... I'm sure that they are happy with me... and probably wondered what took me so long.... poor things
here I am roasting and mom is wrapped up in a blanket heavy sweater she has been sleeping and hasn't said anything about the fan will turn it off when I go to bed... not osculating so perhaps she hasn't felt it ... and of course I don't much either  but a little bit...
Martha I think some of the nursing homes also allow pets more for all but who knows it may have been a random place... although the mechanical pets would be cheaper to feed and no accidents
Judy your comment about the very blue Lake Heron reminded me of a lake in Utah/Idaho (border of each state) called .... well the name will come to me but it's the bluest lake I told Larry that I was going to play tourist and go in one store and ask how many bottles of blue food color it takes to make it that blue  I ended up not doing so but sure wish I had... it's Bear Lake
enjoy the cooler weather Cheryl
I started the border on my afghan should be done in about 3 days
you all have a great day
