Cold rainy Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cold rainy Sunday

Woke up to a cold rain this morning! Sue, wish you had kept it or sent it somewhere else! As requested I texted our trainer last evening and told her she broke Buddy! I never thought I’d see the day that he would be so good! Know we have a way to go and it will be a constant “thing” from this point on but I’m so encouraged at this point. Last night I had a good example of how good he could be when he flushed what I suspected was a rabbit out in the back part of the yard. It was dark and it startled me as it raced by me to hide under the porch with Buddy running after it. In the past Buddy would have ignored me and wouldn’t respond to me at all plus would have totally resisted coming inside with me but he was quick to come to me and came in with no problem! Needless to say I was so proud of him! And still have no idea what the critter was! I think the trees have finally shed their leaves so I have a big job ahead of me! Yesterday seemed to be the day where they all came down at once! When I looked at them today they are pretty much bare! Rain today and tomorrow so maybe by Tuesday I can get out and start working on them! At least that’s the plan! So at this point I’m envious of the warmer weather some of you are having! So hoping you all are going to have a good day and good health.

Good morning, Sharon, and all who follow.

Sharon, I am absolutely thrilled and delighted that your Buddy has returned to you as a "new dog". Sometimes it just takes the right trainer - and the persistence of the owner! - at the right time, at the right place, to get a good job done.

Congratulations to you both, may you have many, many, happy days, months and years ahead together with your best friend.

Thanks for posting.

Yea for Buddy. Sugar usually minded me but I couldn't have gotten her to leave a possum. Thankfully they would play dead and I could put them over the fence. I am on way too many rescue sites on Facebook. I keep telling myself I don't need a dog. I am partial to heelers but boy do they have a lot of behavioral issues. I was lucky Sugar was so so laid back.

My brother sent me a picture of the snow they got this morning in Canada. It's 88 here. We are suppose to have a cold front come thru tomorrow with a small chance of rain.

I was late eating breakfast so don't know what I'll cook for lunch. I'll dig in the freezer and find something that needs to go.

Yea Sharon and Buddy. It is 93 outside right now. But our cold front comes in overnight. Tomorrow we won't hit 60. And it may be raining when getting up in the morning. That'll be a possibly cold walk. Ty doesn't like walking in the rain, so probably a short walk, too. He'll come back inside and hold it if necessary. Lol

I've been looking at used travel trailers. If I can find what I want I'll purchase it and leave it on my site here year round. The problem is people are still trying to sell used ones at way too high a price. Or it needs too much work. But I'm not in a hurry so it's a winter project.

Good morning was a very chilly and foggy start to our morning. By noon the sun was out and warmed up to 53 now. That is probably around our high for today.
So happy to hear you and Buddy are getting it together, good for you. Given the tools to what works and consistency I think you will do just fine. Emma is probably as trained as she is going to get ha ha at least she comes when I call her (if no major distractions). And will pretty much potty on demand. I didnt teach her any tricks LOL She knows the house rules and that works for me. She will be 7 in January. I just dont know where the time goes.

Being a bit of a sloth today. I found some Mary Higgins Clark mysteries on TUBI so have been watching a couple of those. Laura and I watched a couple of really good ones a few years back I think they were on Netflix but of course gone now. But since Tubi is free I am watching The Mary Higgins Clark Collection, so far so good. Quite a few shows in the collection but I wont sloth all day ha ha

Thawing out some Chicken Tortellini soup for dinner with some garlic bread. So that is covered. I guess I should pay my property taxes this week and be done with the bigger bills until Decembers house insurance comes due. Then I am good until March when car insurance is due. Will be getting my interest from my CD's the end of the month so that should cover those expenses. Well time for another episode of my show. I like that every one is different story and characters. Mocha time.

Beth, when the Pink FlaminGoes had a campout at one of the big RV resorts in Donna, TX I noticed that there were a lot of the small park model type trailers for sale all over. I would have liked to have had one for a camp. I think they were asking around $10,000 for them. Of course, that was about 10 years ago.

Glad Buddy is behaving so well. Just make sure you are consistent in how you reward him. A treat when he comes would be nice, but make him sit in front of you when he comes before you give him anything. No jumping up on you or racing to get through the door before you tell him it is OK. I wish I had had more time to work with my son's dog, but at least I always made her sit before I let him in or out. Dogs will push you as far as they can if you let them get away with it. Sitting tells them you are in control, not them in control. (Getting them to leave chasing an animal is pretty hard, as Martha pointed out, because they are still dogs with doggy instincts.)

I went out to Walmarts and got a few groceries, and also stopped to pick up a prescription. I did not have the time today to put the outside things away, and it got dusk too soon. I'll put things away in the morning before I leave--less chance of getting bit in late morning or middle of day. Got four more mosquito bites last night on my right ankle in the hour I was on the beach. Was also chatting with neighbors for a while so might have been then also. Anyway, I have zapped them all several times this morning and today. The little Bite Away thing really works, though it does sting. If I can zap them soon enough, they will stay flat instead of getting puffy and inflamed. Go away faster also, and a lot less itching and stinging.

sometimes I listen to an ad and think I need that in this case it's called a socketfan a fan that fits into an existing ceiling light even has an extension thing if your lights are too recessed ... it sounds good it would if it actually has any wind to it work in the bed room a lot easier than getting grandson to install a ceiling fan for me :?
we had our children's program today was really good my great niece I actually couldn't hear at all so is very soft spoken anyway let alone in front of what I'm sure in her eyes looked like a million people... there was a lot there but not a million  one little boy was grateful for many things that was created including McDonald's he made the room laugh...
it was a later meeting than normal so the whole day was sorta different we actually had lunch like almost 2 or later so wasn't in the mood to fix supper at 5:30 ended up opening a can of soup... got in the mood for popcorn so made some tonight tasted good...
even though the afternoon was different time wise I got scriptures read and a nap in so guess it wasn't much different than normal... since that will be our schedule come the new year will need to do something so we aren't eating quite so late... or figure out something so that will be the main meal and soup or sandwiches will be ok for supper...
Beth if you leave a trailer down in Texas what will you do about the motor home?
good news about Buddy Sharon
Barbie how did your day go? it was sounding like it could be pretty bad although having the third person should have helped a lot
you all have a great day
