Beautiful fall Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Beautiful fall Thursday

Postby MandysMom » Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:05 pm

Its a beautiful, cool morning, starting at 49°, now 56° with mostly clear skies and no breeze. I heard wild turkeys chattering outside a few minutes ago! No big plans for me, as we got fuel and food yesterday. I plan to get my walks in, do a few chores and catch up on a few things , and enjoy my day. I slept better than usual, yay me!
Beth, are you about ready to travel? Judy, did you hear about mirror yet? Barbara, wishing you luck on your sale.
My biggest fun report, is, yesterday, I just happened to look up at the right moment, and 4 western Bluebirds had landed at my seed and water station to check out the fare! In 34+ years here, I had heard there were bluebirds , but had not seen one, nor knew what they looked like, until this group visited! My list of sightings in my own yard, grows! I'm loving it!
Hoping everyone has a great day!

No word about the mirror yet. I probably need to call them.

It rained all last night, but is becoming sunny this afternoon. Very chilly, so had to put on a sweatshirt to pack up at noon today to move to another site. High of 65 today. Normally, I put outdoor things away the day before, but I was visiting my aunt yesterday and it was raining when I got back. So everything was wet and sandy this morning, so I stuffed it partly away. It is now back out and hopefully drying so I can shake or brush stuff out before I leave on Sunday. More rain on Friday, but I am now on a paved handicap site, so stuff will not get dirty. I hate putting stuff away and getting my storage areas dirty.

Going to get my printer out and try to print some stuff up--especially a sign to put in my rear window that thanks drivers for letting me change lanes!

Good morning. 53 here right now. Cloudy and foggy but supposed to get up to 70, we shall see. Not alot on my agenda this morning. Already went and picked up my online order, put away, and now having another cup of coffee, just cause it sounded so good. Kicked my heat on for a bit this morning as it was only 61 in here. So now it is a balmy 64. I have my sweatshirt on and covered up with my heated thro, I cant see heating the whole house when I am just sitting. So just cover up a bit with my throw. Emma loves it, she is curled up next to me enjoying the heat.

Going to make some soup on Sunday so had to get the fixin's for that. Groceries are incredibly expensive now. Doesnt take long to get $30 worth so my pickup is free. Was going to see what Fred Meyer (Krogers) had on sale but decided not to. I have plenty of stuff to eat. Laura is coming down this weekend and we are going to go to Food Truck Friday and then will kick around on Saturday and she heads home on Sunday so we will probably just eat out some of the local fair. She is on her last camping trip of the year then will button up her trailer until Spring. If weather permits we will "Day Camp" at her spot if not we will be at my house as she is only 3 miles from me ha ha Emma will be happy to have Penny for company.

Velda glad you have some visitors to your food and bath. I love the birds but dont have any feeders in my yard as we have several feral cats around so dont want to have any issues. They dont often come in my yard anyway mostly because of the activity and the dog. Happy to hear you had a good nights sleep. So did I after waking up at 3:45 the day before. I dont nap because then I dont sleep as well the next night and I dont want to get into that syndrome LOL

Time to check out the news, local only, I am sick of politics and wars!!! And the billions of dollars we spend, which could be spent here helping our less fortunate people. Oh well that is my soapbox for the day.

Velda, I'll leave this coming Tuesday or Wednesday. It was in the 50's and raining this morning with promises the rain would be over by 10 or so and we'd get to 72. Well rain or drizzle had hung around all day and should get more overnight and tomorrow morning. And the temp hasn't hit 60 yet so I don't believe 72 will be happening lol

Tomorrow will be a full work day. Saturday close to full, then only a few hours Sunday. Sunday night the appreciation dinner. I'm still hemming and hawing about it but am more in the go feelings at the moment. We shall see. Monday will be clean up and get ready and depending on weather, etc could pull out Tuesday. But I'm also considering staying the one extra day and seeing my bff Conni again. But I also want to get on the road and she's already hugged me goodbye.

After two weekends celebrating Halloween here, the rain might put a damper on the third and final weekend.

I guess social security decided I deserve a few extra dollars. I got a little over $50 deposited today and went online and see that my next payments for the rest of this year will be about $5 higher. I'll take every penny lol

Things quieting down here finally today. Vet appointment was early this morning so left extra early since they are doing work on the highway and only one lane and it ended up taking about 20 minutes extra to get through that mess. Test results were good so now we should be all ready for Buddy’s training to start Saturday. Near as we could tell Buddy is about 90 pounds. He wasn’t in favor of getting on the scale so they grabbed that number since it popped up a couple of times as he tried to avoid being on it! Have to work on that! So was home for a couple of hours and it was time for hair appointment. Luckily here in town so I didn’t have to deal with the construction again! So now the day is pretty much done! The sun never came out today so temperature stayed lower than predicted. I have a big pile of leaves from yesterday that I need to bag. As I mentioned Buddy was such a big help with what I did bag! I think tomorrow is supposed to be a bit sunny before it all falls apart on Saturday. Rain supposed to move in Friday night and will rain all weekend. Feel sorry for all the people coming in for the PSU game. Better them than me! Not my idea of fun! They don’t allow RV parking near the stadium on rainy days so don’t know where they all go to park and party. Or do they stay home and watch it on tv? I’m clueless! Beth, hope you can get your tooth taken care of soon. Sue, this is the time of year I wish I had a mower with attachment to make short work of the leaves around my house! Would sure make my life easier! I’m hoping the wind has died down enough to make it easier to blow or rake. I think it must are twice as long to get them all together so I just do what I can each day. Karen, hope you have a good visit with Laura. It’s getting to be time to get some dinner and get the boy fed. Have a good evening.

my trip over the pass to help my dd#2 didn't happen dd#1 text me late explaining that her husband hadn't been feeling well so decided to go for a COVID test this morning so she wasn't leaving as early if at all..so to wait until she contacted me... so then I pondered what do we do if he tests positive??? as we have all been exposed...thankfully he was negative.... so don't have to worry... now... but dd#1 wasn't going to be up as early so by the time she would be there and I got there it didn't give me much time to help before it would be time to leave to avoid dark sorta feel bad but my kids I think are convinced that I can't help anyway dd#2 didn't even know that I was coming over as she was working today my first born has fall break this weekend so she was coming up to help and I was going to go over for a few hours and also help while dd#2 was working not sure if she is working tomorrow or not... so now I feel bad for telling brother that I would be gone... oh well he will bring mom tomorrow I did get the floors vacuumed while wishing I had a "Henry" took a couple of plants outside as niece didn't bring in the ones I wanted also brought in hummingbird feeder and spent way too much time on FB need not to pulled into those stupid stories... am I a jerk stories... realize that many of them are made up but still get pulled into them grumbling at myself for doing so... I even got a nap in not planned and missed a movie on Hallmark Mysteries that I wanted to see thought it came on at 5 but it came on at 3 it was one that was first on just as I left and I was disappointed not to see it... oh well it will resurface
and I still have stuff to bring in from the car... had hope that niece would come over but her car was in the shop
hopefully they will leave later in the morning and I will get out of bed earlier than I did today and attempt to get it all out of the car...
so that was my day I decided that scrambled eggs sounded good but usually don't like mine they tend to be dry so looked for a "recipe" for scrambled eggs yes I've been cooking for over 60 years and I looked up a "recipe" for scrambled eggs.... but think they were the best I've ever made or at least that I remember making not dry either...
you all have a great day
