Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday

Martha, I, too, am so sorry to hear about Sugar. My heart goes out to you.

I'll be heading to work shortly. It's a shorter day unless things get hectic at closing like last Sunday and I stick around to clean up again. :). This hasn't been a difficult job, but for a boss who told me before I took the job that he doesn't do drama, he sure doesn't realize the amount of drama that is going on with his employees. Drives me nuts. But my days are numbered, so I'll make it with most of my sanity lol

Today will be the best day this week here weatherwise. Up to low 70's for a high (was into upper 30's overnight) and the sun is out. This will probably be the last day too hit 70 before I leave. But at least I'm not showing weather going below freezing. My fingers are still crossed that I don't run out of propane before leaving day when I'll fill to the brim.

Sugar started having problems with diarrhea about March and I was kind of controlling it with probiotics. The vet finally did some blood work and her liver enzymes were off so he sent me to another vet to get an ultrasound. She had tumors on her liver. She just kept getting weaker and weaker and I let her go when she stopped eating. I miss my girl so much.

Not much going on today. I was trying to hang a picture and my son called. Then I was on Facebook and now on the forum. Doesn't take much to get me side tracked. I know I have a picture hanging kit somewhere so maybe the picture will get hung today.

It got down to 55 last night. I need to mow the yard and won't have to wait until almost dark because of the heat. It's only 78 now. I would like to take the air conditioner that I put in my office window down but need some muscle so I don't dorp it. Maybe if the carpenter shows up this week to work on the bathroom he can help me. It was a life saver when the central unit went out and it was in the 100's.

Martha, I'm sorry to hear about Sugar. My condolences.
It's only going to reach 92° here then dropping through next week. Only 70° tomorrow!
Some said they hope I get A Dr who helps! My group now includes my Primary care Internist, a pulmonary dr, Cardiologist, Spinal surgeon, and about to add a endocrinologist and a neurosurgeon plus pull my opthamologist into the team for ongoing dry eye issue (which could be either my BP RX or a inflammatory eye condition)! Hoping somebody comes up with answers!
Hope all of you stay healthy and those with issues improve. Heaven knows I'm trying!!
Stay safe everyone.

It's another beautiful day! That may end this week. I had my coffee and went to local store for more sauerkraut, got the soup in the crockpot and called my Kansas aunt. No breakfast or lunch yet - just not hungry. Aunt has no details on what happened with my son-in-law - small town so thought they might have heard something.

Martha, I am so sorry about Sugar. Beth, I wonder if there is a place without drama these days! Sheila, I hope your busy day was fun!

Good afternoon. Kept myself busy this morning, sorting and rearranging. My storage unit was getting very disorganized and finally finished my closet and the spare bedroom closet. Since my shed is nowhere near watertight I am careful what I store in there. I have some tubs and usually put a garbage bag inside and then put the stuff I dont want to get damp in it, so far it has worked pretty well. Threw in a load of laundry and then since it is sunny and warm out decided to finish spraying the yard. The weeds were starting to grow and I want them to die away so I can put my weed cloth and mulch down soon. It is 82 here right now but very warm on my deck so I am now inside for the rest of the day. Ate the rest of my Teriyaki chicken dinner for lunch, I dont think I will be too hungry for dinner. I am making a sausage, mushroom and cheese quiche later. I love having that for breakfast or lunch. Might pop one of my pizza's in the oven for dinner if I am hungry later and the oven will already be hot.
Martha I never knew Sugar was having problems. I am so sorry you had to let her go. Hope maybe you can find another companion. Velda with that array of doctors lets hope they all get on the same page, what do you think the chances of that are ??? LOL Beth I think Anita is right, there is always some sort of drama somewhere among workers. I know I live in a drama free zone so therefore I just used to observe and laugh to myself. As a traveler I am aka a visitor. So sometimes they tried to pull me in but I managed not to go down that road.
We might get a little rain this week and temps are dropping here also. I am okay with that. Just cant rain for too long, I still have lots to do outside!!!!!

Time for my blended Caramel mocha today and see if anything interesting on the tv.

I am still working on my to-do list I made several days ago. I really have to force myself to do some tasks. Anyway, yesterday, I cleaned the back bumper and washed off the steps to my cab on both the passenger and drivers side. The bumper wasn't very rusty, but it is supposed to be black but has a lot of little chips that show the white paint underneath. I also had to scrape off a bumper sticker with U of Michigan on it, which took a lot of effort. I put it on because with my Ohio license plates, I got tired of people asking if I went to Ohio State. Nope!! So, I have a newer bumper sticker that is in better condition I will add to it now. The steps were very rusty and the non-slip stuff is coming off in chunks.

Today, I did a bit more cleaning of the steps and painted everything a nice, shiny black. It may not improve the overall appearance of my rig, but at least I won't be constantly looking at the rust and white spots, at least for a while. Still waiting to hear from the side mirror company with news that my replacement mirror is in and ready to be shipped. I am guessing it will not be ready for shipping until I am in Florida in about 10 days.

I still have to put air in a couple of tires and to reprogram a couple of my tire pressure monitors. I am no where near the level of working that certain other people in this forum are, but at least I am getting a few things done. Now I need to get back to making some banana nut bread.

One last thing: Karen, how do you make a chocolate cherry cake? I still have a bunch of frozen cherries left and a chocolate cherry cake sounds interesting.

Judy, the chocolate chery cake I used to make used canned chery pie filling, butter and cake mix. Bet Pintetst has the recipe.

Judy here is the recipe I use

3 ingredient Chocolate Cherry Cake

2 large eggs
1 box Devil’s cake mix
1 can (21oz) cherry pie filling (I add a little cherry extract to pop out the cherry taste)

Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Spray 13×9-inch baking pan with a cooking spray.
In a large mixing bowl with a whisk attachment, beat the eggs for a minute until fluffy.
Add chocolate cake mix and cherry pie filling, and continue to beat the mixture until smooth, starting on low speed and gradually increasing the speed to medium high.
Pour the batter into the baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula. I use a bundt pan also sometimes.
Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Cool the cake on wire rack in the pan. Serve warm or cold Frost, or powdered sugar, or a ganache.

Anita it was a fun day.... we went ALL my kids and about 4 of the grandkids went to a "farm" one of those that has attractions going on we went on a wagon ride watched the kids do different things I think we needed a different place though... we then went to a place to eat I think it's been around for along time but one of those hard to get to places.. back to my son's house visited for a bit my eldest and her husband had tickets to go to see a comedian the other two went to see #2's son's X they dd and X have remained close and youngest had to run an errand so she left which left son and myself I'm sure that he was wishing that he could go to bed as he had to work today and it's usually at work by 6 the main thing we were all together and no fusses ... that is always a win win... no they usually get along really pretty good... :D
picked up a melon (the orange variety) from the Mexican store the other day just cut it up pretty good not the texture of cantaloupe nor of the white one boy my mind isn't functioning  perhaps a combo didn't catch the name of it...
