Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers.
I like reading about all your activities and chores. Makes me wish I had just a tiny bit of your collective energy! I swear my butt will grow roots in my recliner.
OMG, Judy - I didn't realize the expense if you chose the wrong part of Medicare. Since I retired from a university, they pay all my health insurance costs and I have to admit I know very little about all the various plans out there. I do know that there are a number of gap insurance companies that are free here in CA. I've had a few friends on one of the more popular ones, and they always got the best of care with no worries about paying anything. I'm shocked at our country's health care - not surprised, but shocked. A person shouldn't have to choose between food or medicine; or worse, go without either of them.
I go to lunch twice a week with a group of other "seasoned" gals. We went to IHOP this week and we were in shock at their new menu prices! Most items on their menu were around $16.00 or more for breakfast or lunch. One of the appetizer items was a quesadilla. The picture looked so yummy until I read the description and discovered the price was $16.97! For just an appetizer? Couldn't believe the number of people there with kids, because even the kids menu was pricey and very limited. Senior menu was limited to only 2 lunch items. Our server was just a bit too perky announcing their wonderful new menu! Oh, it was gorgeous with all the pictures until you actually studied it. Sigh! Pandemic sure did change all our lives in ways we didn't expect.
