Wet Tuesday, August 22

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wet Tuesday, August 22

Postby Colliemom » Tue Aug 22, 2023 9:53 am

Mid morning here at the 45th. Een raining all morning, but is now stopped. Supposed to be spotty showers todsy. Current temp is 57°. Supposed to be low 70’s today.

Just got home from the vet with Molly. Went up for eye pressure check. Not too good in both eyes now. So will be putting drops in both eyes. Vet is pretty sure there’s inflammation coming from somewhere within her body, but question is where. So next week Monday, since Piper has an appt., I’m taking Both dogs and they are going to do an ultrasound on Molly’s abdominal area to see if there could be cancer or some other disease in there. It’s the last recourse left here. Next up would be going to a specialist.

Since it’s wet outside, won’t be doing anything out there. I finished my sidewide caulking yesterday. Glad that’s done. Sprayed painted the fence gates too. So basically all my exterior house/yard maintenance is done for this year. This as one of those do stuff you only need to do every couple years or so or when it needs it years. So next year I won’t be doing as much. But it’s nice having it all done. So am going to spend the afternoon catching up on bookwork, filing some papers etc and painting on my woodcrafts etc.

Barbie, I would walk away from that sale. Those people want you to pay for stuff they want and can get after they buy the house. You are selling as is. Those demands are unreasonable. Having something repaired is one thing, but those are another. I saw the picture of the corner of your shed and yes you can fix that yourself. Just bend it back in place, and get the nail out, replace it with a nut, washer and bolt. That will hold it in place. Put a couple along that panel if you want.

So, guess I will get in to my office and get busy.

Good morning, going to be 80 today yay. Heating into the low 90's Thurs and Fri but then back to upper 80's I will take it. C'mon FALL. I am going to Costco this morning to do a little shopping and pick up my prescription. Got pork chops in the slow cooker so dinner is covered.

Happy everyone I know survived Hilary with only minimal damage for some. My friends in San Diego said nothing more than a passing storm. Sue so sorry you did not get better news for Molly. Hope they find the cause.

Off to Costco, chat later

Barbie, did you have an offer on your house?? Guess I missed something. And how is the lake behind your place? Is it drained yet?

Slept in until noon today--felt nice to finally get a good night's rest. Have had trouble sleeping last couple of nights. It was chilly last night, so that always helps. Been making calls today to set up appointments at a couple of libraries tomorrow to get census record info on property locations transferred to addresses. And treating the couple of dozen mosquito bites that I have gotten in last couple of days. I need to go out today to hookup water hose and sewer connection, so going to put on mosquito head net and wear a jacket and long pants, regardless of it being sunny and warm!!! Also ordered a mosquito net jacket from Amazon!!

Also got some invoices for my aunt to get straightened out, since it appears we paid one big bill twice!

Got up early this morning and left an hour and a half before my appointment. The traffic was fairly bad due to some stoplights still being out so that backed everything up. The clinic called while I was on my way to see if I was gonna make it. I told them I might be late, but I ended up 15 minutes early. No one else was there and I heard the girls calling people to reschedule. So many roads up that way are still closed. The freeway finally opened up completely this morning.
The Dr needs an MRI done of my back before he can give me an epidural for the nerve pain. So I need to get that scheduled and then go back there. He did give me a prescription for nerve pain but it makes you sleepy so will maybe take one the night before if I am going to work the next day and see how that works.

Stopped at Denny's for breakfast and then WM for my prescription and then Home Depot for the screws I need to fix the shed door. Then I laid down and took a nap. Just woke up but have a headache now.

Judy, I haven't gotten an offer yet but these people want me to replace the dishwasher that doesn't work, but also to put in a washer and dryer for them! :o I wonder if they will want me to buy them a golf cart too! I am getting fed up with it and told my agent that.

Oh, and yes, my backyard was drained out by yesterday afternoon.

This happened to my Mom. Of course the buyers had actually made an offer (unlike your situation), but their demands were ridiculous. They didn't like the kitchen faucet and wanted her to replace it. They didn't say what kind of faucet they wanted, just that they didn't like it and to replace it. They also wanted her to do all the prep work on the outside of the house so they could paint it. They wanted a bunch of the trim work replaced even though there was nothing wrong with it. The list went on and on....My Mom was going to do it but I told her no. Don't replace anything that isn't broken. They bought the house anyway (without any reduction in price) so it was good that she didn't spend any money on any of the stupid things they wanted replaced.

Barbie, I'm glad you didn't have any damage (other than the shed wall) in that storm. You definitely dodged a bullet!

I had a great time camping last week. I went fishing but only caught one fish before I got seasick. I've never been seasick before in my whole life! It was horrible but I marked "ocean fishing" off my bucket list so I don't have to out there again. The boat captain even said the conditions were bad so I didn't feel like too much of a wimp. I was also not the only person on the boat that was sick so that made me feel a tiny bit better about it. There was some 7 year old on there that was catching fish right and left so I still left with my 5 fish limit!

I am headed out again in a few weeks for a week in SE Oregon (hundreds of miles from the ocean LOL). Should be a fun trip to see Steens Mountain and attend the Harney County fair. I haven't been to a rural county fair in decades. I'm looking forward to seeing all the animals and the local crafts. I'll miss the rodeo because I have to leave before it happens, but it will still be fun. The weather so far over there looks to just be in the 80's and I'm hopeful it doesn't change much as it gets closer.

Okay, time to take the pup out for her last walk of the night.

Oh, Laura, I'm sorry you got seasick. But good thing that youngster caught enough fish that you got your limit. :)

I'm exhausted. It was busy at work tonight. But I enjoyed the person I worked with last night and tonight. We worked very well together. I can't say that about everyone. I don't like the heat and humidity still with us. We should start seeing temps going down starting on Friday. Fingers crossed.

Now my bed is calling.

I did finally make it the post office.... stopped on the way (sorta on the way) at DQ and got a chicken finger meal the one with both fries and onion rings... took it home and added what was left over from the last trip to DQ fries don't reheat well even in the A/F but all else did so sorta emptied up the left overs from the fridge other than the soup from last night... or the salmon think that is all that is left in there the problem with the salmon is it's too much for mom and not enough for the two of us I just may toss it in the freezer.... which is something that I again need to reorganize and start using
finally got the scarf to where I believe that it's a good width better be cause not pulling it out again 4 times is more than enough... and now it's 14 inches long so not coming out...
and it rained again today but not suppose to tomorrow I don't think.... I will have to look again... not going to complain as we do need the moisture... I saw pictures today on the weather app... so pretty bad damage in SO CA from what I saw it's good you were able to make it to the drs appt Barbie oh you know there is something you might ask about and it maybe early to do it but both a friend of mine and my sister in law have had a stimulater put in their backs that helps block the pain not sure that is the correct word but they seem to do well with it....
you all have a great night
