Super windy Saturday morn

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Super windy Saturday morn

Postby Bethers » Sat Jul 29, 2023 9:40 am

All intentions of an early start today are gone with the wind. Haha. Not predicted and as Ty and I were being blown over walking I checked weather apps and none showed any wind here. Just now they are beginning to change that lol. If they are right, it'll be ok after noon or 1 and I'll get on the road then.

Judy, wow, and he admitted to putting it on wrong. I guess I like the honesty, but I wonder how long he'll have a job. I'm glad they got an after market one and you're able to be on the road.

I might take a nap. Later all.

Morning All, still hot and humid. Beach traffic still creating havoc. My life has slowed to a crawl also. #2 daughter has been keeping me stocked with fresh vegetables from her garden so have been eating lots of salads. Be safe

Hooray it is much cooler today. I's still pretty hot but nothing like the last few days. It is almost 1:00 and actual temp is 84 but the humidity is 77% and dew point 76% making it feel like 93 but sure better than the feel like of 110 we've been having. I went to the farmers market a little before 8 and found Asian Pears! My cantaloupe unfortunately wasn't quite ripe but one of the farmers told me it has a lot to do with the hot weather. He said one day some thing isn't ripe and the next day it can be overripe. No wonder food is so expensive! One of my friends came over yesterday with several bags of tomatoes and two dozen eggs:) . She has canned all she wants but they planted too many not expecting such a big crop since they moved their garden to a new area this year. Another friend was here and she took a few bags with her to drop off at friends, so they are not going to waste.
Beth hope the wind stops and you can get on the road safely. Everyone in the heat take care, Barbie..that means you too.

Afternoon. Spent the morning sorting out some things in the office. Watered outside and noticed those dang deer have nibbled my flowers off my hydrangeas....only thing left is the stalks. They arent eating the leaves so there is that. Hey they arent bothering my tomatoes, maybe because of the fence, (altho it is only 4ft tall) or how about they are FULL. LOL
So I have several solar yard lights and I put new batteries in them and stuck them in the ground around the hydrangeas, dont know if they will do anything or not but I also have some flags I can put out. Altho it seems a little late for that. Dang deer. Could be worse tho. I would have to sleep outside if they start bothering my tomatoes. This is the first year since I moved her that I have decent tomatoes.

Beth sorry you had to wait to leave, I hate that when I am traveling but of course we have all been there. Sometimes have to hold up for a few days glad the winds should die down as that is one thing I avoided when possible of driving in, oh yeah that and snow. It is a great day here 55/82....almost perfect weather. Will be creeping up Tues 90 but then back down into the high 80's. Could be way worse like it is for some of you. The good thing is it isnt smoky here today, looks like we have high smoke but no smell today and it was much lower. I could barely see the planes taking off from the airport, that fly directly over my house. In fact they often fly right over my skylight and it surprises me every time with the dimming of the sunlight ..... a mini eclipse LOL Shirl nice you daughter has such a good garden. I have harvested a couple of tomatoes with many more starting to turn so that is good. I am done for today so just a load to put in the dryer and will make myself an iced caramel mocha and relax.

I love to watch deer, but they are certainly destructive. One of my friends lives in Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula, but outside of town, and the deer who come out of the woods stand on their hind legs to eat the flowers in her hanging baskets on her front porch. Her husband built her a garden with a 6 foot fence so she can grow a few vegetables.

I am relaxing in my free casino camp site. Only a few miles from place last night, and temps are on upper 70s, with winds coming across Lake Michigan, which is a couple of miles away. I did drive around Manistee a bit, but was still tired from getting up early last few nights and not sleeping well, so decided to skip getting a couple of things I really did not need at Meijers and head here. Place is really full, during weekdays and weekends, but I will not be gambling--just having a meal with my cousin tomorrow. Got my laundry done last night, so don't need to worry about that until I get to Ohio. Nice thing about Ohio state parks is that every one of them has a couple of washers and dryers in each restroom building. Ditto for Florida. Makes it a lot easier.

Need to vacuum and do some dusting, but that can wait for a couple of days.

And by the way, I can easily watch Dr. Pimple Popper and even some surgery shows, but accidentally watched opening to My Strange Addiction, and got grossed out by quick summary of stories for that show--one lady was addicted to eating cat hair, another was addicted to eating rotten canned tuna, and a couple of others drank their urine!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quickly changed channel.

Thanks for telling me about the show that grossed you out, Judy. I don't think I want to try that one.

I finally got on the road this afternoon and stopped at another city park (this one in Nebraska) shortly after 7 with electric and water for donations only. I'm impressed with the park but not with the area for RVs. If it rains, which it did yesterday, it's grass and mud. But it's doable and I'm happy to have it available. I'm not as far as I originally intended to drive today, but I'm only left with about 200 miles for tomorrow. Only necessary stop will be for gas (and both Ty and I always need potty breaks).

Oh, tonight's the first night of have been ok boondocking. But nice to not have to

I can watch all sorts of blood and gore shows like NCSI the one no longer on but was really gory at times but I don't believe that I could have handled that show either...
Cheryl and I drove around a lot... went out to the ranch then up to slide lake then North to Moran and into the park up to signal mt summit and then around the lakes and then to Jackson via the Moose-Wilson road it's only open on the weekends right now due to road work but now Cheryl knows were she wants to go... we stopped for a hamburger but with Punkin in the truck we took take out should have checked her plain cheeseburger and my loaded cheeseburger turned out to be a plain burger totally plain!!! my husband would have liked it as would my son in law...me not so much perhaps if the cheese had been there :? when we discovered it was when we sat down in the park should make sure one checks the to go box
it was a beautiful day a nice one to drive
have my start working for tomorrow ... dd #1 and son in law and some of her kids will be here for brunch the two military ones (my eldest granddaughter and her husband need to be gone by noon as they are heading back to the east coast.. so should be hectic for a few then totally quite
had a lot of fun with Cheryl so glad she stopped by
you all have a great day

Got up at 9am and finished up a few things in the kitchen and then started on the living room. That took awhile because of some bins of misc. stuff I needed to go thru. I hate dealing with that stuff! Some of it was my hair cutting stuff so I went thru the stuff I brought home from work, extra tools and things I had in my closet, and the bag I use for doing home haircuts. I sorted it all out, threw out a bunch of stuff I no longer need, duplicates, things that no longer work, etc. So that took awhile but finally got that done and down to one bag for doing haircuts. I still have one small bin of papers that need to be gone thru but will do that when I have more time. I finished up the living room and decided to call it a day.

Tomorrow I will get up at o'dark thirty (I hope!) and start on the porch and deck before it gets super hot. The humidity is getting higher now which makes it feel so much worse. I hate sweating! I wish I had a bandana to put around my forehead to keep the sweat out of my eyes. Got some in my eye yesterday and it really stings! It will only get down to 89* by 6am before heading back up to 115*. Maybe I should wear my swim suit so I can spray myself off with the hose! I think I have more work to do in the porch than outside tho. We'll see how far I get before I give up! My agent wants to get the house listed on Monday. I need to get the house on the park website too. I need to do that myself since I need to use my password to get in to it. I printed up the info to put on the For Sale sign I got from the office. He is going to put up a box with flyers in it too.

Got my new shower curtain and it looks nice! Matches the valence perfect, and my towels too. No more girly frou frou

Whew! Still have a few smaller projects to work on this week as well. One thing at a time... :| I am sure I won't have a crowd of people busting my door down on Monday morning to see the place.

Beth, glad things are getting cooler as you move north.

Judy, hope things calm down for you with the RV. Enjoy your visit with your cousin.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie when I sold my places and had it listed they always scheduled a day just for other realtors to come and view the place. I think that was helpful to them and me for them to see the place and decide if they had clients that would be interested. The bad part is your place has to be pretty well show ready at all times. You may not get alot of notice, as some people drop in to the realtor and are anxious to see it NOW. Other times you have way more time to spiff it up.
