Friday Nay 26

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday Nay 26

Postby Shirlv » Fri May 26, 2023 7:35 am

Morning All, 57° sunny. I’m enjoying the pleasant weather. I went to the farmers market yesterday, always a friendly atmosphere. I’ve given up baking sourdough bread. The steps aren’t hard but the procedure stretches over 24 hours. The starter is still in the fridge and will asl family if they know anyone who wants it. There is a new bakery/restaurant that bakes everything sourdough, bread, pizza, cookies, etc. They are also at the farmers market so that cinched me not baking. I don’t eat a lot so cut the loaf in quarters and freeze. My days are pretty much stay at home, run a few errands now and then so not much to write about. I’m comfortable and content so can’t ask for more. Anne, your garden sounds wonder. I just saw a YouTube to use soapy water on squash bugs. I’m like the tortoise doing household chores, slow and steady so will get at it. Be safe

Mornin' Shirl & all that follow~~~
Being comfortable and content is good.

Not a whole lot new with me. Just doing some mini- sightseeing here in Richfield Utah. I did end up going to Bryce Canyon NP yesterday because I only ended up being 20 miles away after going to Butch Cassidy's childhood home and Red Canyon where he hid after an attempted murder. Decided i was close and wouldn't be as busy in the afternoon and with some schools still in session. Picked up a new Smokey Bear sweatshirt to replace some that are pretty ragged. Also A Bryce centennial decal to add to my collection.

Playing phone tag with lawyers and accountants for estate stuff. How am I supposed to straighten things out when professionals can't get their act together.

Nothing planned for the holiday weekend. Have a good day and Memorial Day.

Good morning, been out checking my garden plants...so far so good. I got most of my drip system set up yesterday and it seems to be working well. Still have to run another couple lines to the flower pots and squash but later today or early tomorrow.
I have my eye doc appt for injections this morning. Then my neighbor/handypan/painter LOL is meeting me at Home Depot to bring my new BBQ home. I dont use a BBQ often but this year I am really missing having one so took advantage of the amount they have on display AND I dont have to put it together it comes assembled.
Made stir fry for lunch yesterday and still have some left over so will make a small amount of rice and have that for dinner. Might see what I have in my freezer to take out to BBQ ha ha
Off to have some breakfast and hit the shower as I have an early morning appt. I like having the first appt of the day....doesnt get behind and I get it over with early so I have the rest of my day. My allergies are very bothersome in the morning lately. Guess I better start taking my allergy pills on a regular basis, maybe will stop my nose from running...one can only hope. I am just bothered in the morning mostly. Oh well the joys of getting older. I never used to have allergies until about 10 years ago and got them under control but moving to a totally new area they often flare up.

Good morning. A very chilly start to the day, frost in some areas. I just got home from having Lola inspected. So I’m legal for the next year! Good thing they don’t include how dirty she is…would have failed! I’m itching to give her a bath but need to get the yard mowed and some other things out back before it happens. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer so may try to do it then. I haven’t even turned my water on yet! I think it’s safe to do now!! GD had first surgery on Wednesday and supposed to have the second today since she tolerated the first so well. She is still under very heavy sedation and will remain so until the surgeries are done. At least this first round of surgeries. Buddy and I need to take a nice long walk later. I didn’t get him out the last couple of days just played in the yard. Helped run some of his energy out but not quite the same. So a busy day if I just get moving! Guess a lot will depend on my energy level! What I really wanted to do was just keep driving this morning! Hope everyone has a great day and stays safe.

Good Morning, other Sharon, that was tragic news about your GD. Glad she is in a good hospital that understands burn care. Continue to keep us informed.
Cheryl, sounds like you are enjoying yourself. Utah is a beautiful state.
Karen, I am fascinated by your garden. My garden has fallen on hard times.
My leg continues its healing.
I have eight softball games to watch today, and a soccer game tonight. I won’t be able to watch them all, but I will watch as much as I can. Hazel loves her walks, so that is at the top of my doings.
My daughter has begun saving her leftovers and freezing them for me. I have lost all my desire to cook.
I am starting Hazel on Farmers Dog today. I’ve lots about it and it’s worth a try I decided. She eats only 1/2 cup a day.
That’s my boring day. Lyn

Good afternoon. Sunny and 78° here. The old front the otber day shifted the winds as I mentioned and we have sunny blue skies for past three days. Desperately need rain though. My grass is more dirt than grass and I was filthy when I got done mowing a bit ago. Headed for the shower right afterI put my tractor away. That’s filthy too. Will put the hoses out and give it a bath tomorrow. Need to hose off the porch and decks too. Everything is covered in pole and dust.

Finally got down to the Greenhouse today. Bought home a bit over $100 worth of flowers between mine and the POA’s. Need a few more for POA bed and thought maybe I-would get some up here, but variety is better down there. One more place to check up town. Looking for a few white petunias. Will probably end up running back down there. The cold, wet spring that we had plus the cold we had these past few days has messed up a lot of the growers. Perennials won’t be really in for a couple weeks yet. They had a few but I’m gonna wait. I did pick up four today.

Molly had her eye checked yesterday and there is some bleeding in there. Not sure of exact cause as yet, but her blood pressure was high.so she is on a regime of eye drops and pills. And I have to watch the clock as drops are every 8 hours, One pill once a day, one every 12 hours and then there’s the Rimadyl for the arthritis too  Had to make a chart to keep track of it all. We see the vet again on Tuesday. She doesn’t seem fazed by any of it and hasn’t exhibited signs of pain or anything.

Checked this morning and radiator reservoir still seems to be full, and there are no drips on the camp site asphalt, so I went out to pick up my new small electric heater. I had tried at several hardware stores a few weeks ago, and got the only one I could find, but I do not like it because it is too tall and wobbly. Apparently, electric heaters are only sold in late fall and winter, no matter the temperature outside. Anyway, I ordered a new one from Amazon that is like the old one I had. I will donate the wobbly one one of these days.

Also picked up a couple of things from Whole Foods, which is where the Amazon locker was, but wow are their prices high, so literally only got two things I really needed.

It has literally rained every day here at 9,200' but tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, so I am driving the 35 miles to Leadville, especially now that I know my radiator is OK. And a photo of my afternoon snack: pickled beets and egg.

Picked up my new BBQ grill. It is really nice. Think it might be overkill tho ha ha I ordered it online last night and my neighbor picked it up with me today. I dont think it is the one I ordered but they brought it out and helped load it but when we unloaded it it is much bigger. Oh well it isnt going back LOL

Not doing anything this afternoon as they dilated my eyes and the sunlight bothers them still. It should all wear off soon. So just relaxing and contemplating dinner. Oh I did get my new Air Fryer so my house is whole again LOL

Sharon, what state is granddaughter in? I ask because I know a very excellent burn coach in Wichita Ks. My step nephew got horrific burns in his early 20's in a fire outdoors, burning brush. He is in his 50's now, but still coaches burn victims of all ages.
I had blood drawn today to begin checking off possible reasons for my sudden change in BP. Probably be next week before I hear about PFT (pulmonary function test) and a night time oxygen monitor. Then we go from their, while meantime , I keep frequent monitoring and taking the as needed pill 3-5 times a day on top of my regular doses.
We will be home all weekend. Chris is going to set up the new toaster oven air fry feature and do hotdogs. One day I'll get my BBQ going again.
Karen, show us your new BBQ?
Have a safe weekend.

Went to the interview at the employment agency. They asked about the live scan. I told them I went and had it done and showed them the paper work. Well, I didn't know that there is more I need to do for it. No one told me I need to now go online and get registered and fill out some information and then wait to get approved. She said that could take anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks! :o I sure hope it is much closer to 3 days!!

Then went to my doctor appointment to get referred to a psychiatrist to get tested for ADHD. I gave her a list of symptoms and things I have had problems with that are typical of ADHD. She said "no problem" and put in the referral. Now to wait for the insurance to OK it and then I can make an appointment.

Been super windy here since last night. It is cooler tho, in the low 80's so I haven't had to run my AC much. Just have the windows open on the opposite side of the house from the wind (and dust!)

Got a headache and am tired so might take a nap before my TV shows come on later.

Karen, looks like you need to have a party now! Invite the neighbors over for a BBQ!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good evening!

Slow and steady is good motto, Shirl! Sure been that way here and will continue! Had to leave a few things behind at the old apartment to be picked up tomorrow, but almost done! Just a bit worn out! So exciting to finally get to drive the Sling today just to move it here!

No plans for the weekend once I'm done at old apartment except unpacking - and probably shopping online. :) I see they put lounge chairs by the pool so maybe it's open.

Anita, having a pool would be a plus to living in an apartment. I don't think there are any public swimming pools left around here. There is a campground just out of Lafayette that has several pools and a big hot tub. They were just taken over by the Margaritaville company and the site fees are out of sight. They are one of the places that won't guarantee your site unless you pay extra. That is BS as far as I'm concerned. I have seen several people complaining on Facebook that the water pressure is so low at that campground they had to use their water pump.

I have a BBQ grill on the back porch but haven't used it in over 5 years. My son had mounted a fire extinguisher on the porch and I noticed that it needed to be recharged. I just bought another one when I bought a new smoke alarm. One of the lumber companies in Lafayette is advertising a sales tax free weekend. I need to think of what I need from a lumber company if I make it to Lafayette.

My son and his girlfriend brought me to pick up the motorhome. Sharon, I just wanted to keep going too. Instead we went and had lunch at the local seafood restaurant. There were three long tables of teachers celebrating the end of school. It was so noisy in there you couldn't carry on a conversation.

I have the hospice dine around Sunday. I looked the restaurant up on the computer and it kind of looks like it's at a truck stop on I-10. Surely not. I said I was going but it's a pain for me to make it to Lafayette by 10:30 on a Sunday morning or any morning.
