Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Lenora, have you thought about looking at a Born Free MH? They have what they call a "Built for Two" that just might be a size you are interested in. They have also just opened a factory on your coast in Lancaster, CA. This MH is probably the size of the R-vision that you just looked at. A B+, which is a little larger than a B. The company gets really good reviews year after year. Don't know how to do a clicky thingy but the website is www.bornfreemotorcoach.com. Hope it's OK to do this, if not delete.

Have you driven the PW Excel? There are some people on RV net and the PW forum that have had problems with the stability of these units while highway driving and are looking for ways to improve the ride. I know you mentioned that there were hardly any around your area but I thought I would bring up this point. The Excel (Ford) is wider than the others which might lead to the problem. If possible, maybe test drive both the PW models, Excel (Ford) and Luxor (Chevy) and compare the drive for yourself. PW also has a new Sprinter model as well.

Enjoy all the looking and driving for your new RV.

Linda, thanks for the site. I have seen the Born Free as they are generally at the beginning of every Trailer Life Mag. The floor plan in the R-Vision I looked at is almost identical to the Born Free. The R-Vision was a Chevy, though. The bathroom looks the same and that was pretty much the deal breaker for me. No I haven't driven any MH yet. As for the PW handling problem. The owner of the 2000 I looked at said the wheel width of the back tires were closer together than the front tires. Supposedly this was to help, when you are driving on highways that have the grooves in the asphalt caused from heavy trucks, so that when you try steering out of the rut you don't get thrown out. He said that his wife didn't like how it made the PW sway so he had someone made the back tires the same width as the front and all is fine. I wonder if that's the problem other owners are speaking of and if it's only older PWs that have this problem or if they are still making them with the different widths? Something to check out!

On Edit:
OK, I went to the other forum and read what was being said. That tells me that it has been an ongoing problem that has not been addressed. Have none of these owners contacted PW about the problem?? SO I went right to the top and emailed PW myself. I'm not about to put out that kind of money only to inherit an immediate problem! Thanks for the heads up!
