Saturday March 18

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, a sunny 44°. No plans will maybe do a load of laundry if the spirit moves me. Shelia,it was Barbie who liked soft scrambled eggs. I like eggs cooked anyway and there is always hard cooked in the fridge. Quiet today, no construction noise or operating cranes to watch. For a year I have watched a very tall woman creep past my window with her dog. The last couple of months she has picked up speed. Her little dog runs ahead, stops and waits for her to catch up and they continue. I saw her outside and commented that she was walking faster. She had both knees replaced and credited her fur friend for the new speed. Haven’t heard from OSharon, hope she isn’t dealing with horrible weather. Also hope Martha didn’t get the nasty weather in her area. I can’t keep up with who is dealing with serious weather or where. Be safe

If it wasn't for Ty I wouldn't be getting nearly the walking in I do. So I understand that. Good for her and the pup. I was just thinking about Sharon. She's been mia for a bit. Hope nothing is wrong. And I never remember who's getting the worst. I'm glad Anne keeps us updated on the California rains, etc. Highs only in the upper 50's, low 60's here again today and tomorrow. But should feel better as we'll still have winds but only moderate ones.

Good Morning Shirl and all who follow. It is 19° here with a real feel of about 10°. We are under a Winter Storm Warning from 5 p.m. last night to 8 p.m. tonight for heavy lake effect snow. This morning it has been partly cloudy because the wind died down a bit, and as is the case with lake effect, we wound up between four and 5 inches here. Some places got at least 10. The snow is starting again and winds are gusty, around 25 I would say. My morning entertainment was watching my neighbor out blowing the snow and made his usual runs up and down our road between our two houses. With the wind blowing it look like a snow cloud, going back-and-forth up and down the road  We do that so that when the county plows our road, they don’t brow all the snow back in our drives. He is the same neighbor I mentioned that I was doing their drive while they were gone on vacation for about three weeks. While he was out this morning, he did my drive for :) so all I had to do was just shovel off my decks and my path to my porch. :D

So now that I am back in, I’m going to get back into cleaning some more of my closets. I have two done. Doesn’t really take that long. I want to do a little rearranging in the one in my bathroom. The way the shelves are positions I have a little bit of wasted space with too much space between some. Towels to take out my room, then say smaller odds, and ends things that you keep in the closets. Might be a little bit of construction going on there

The lady who was out walking her dog that had the knee surgery is right. Or fur friends do get us out, many times are helpful with medical conditions such as she had, because they say when you have that you should be out walking. I credit mine for getting me out even on times when I sometimes think I don’t want to, but I know I should. It’s good to be in the fresh air.

So I guess I will make a grilled cheese sandwich on my Foreman grill and then get busy.

Good morning gals!

Yesterday, Dave came by and cut down my lattice pieces so now I need to find my zip ties in the shed and attach them to the railings on the deck.

Today is the last Saturday they are having the hamburger BBQ here for the season, so I will go over at noon and get my burger.

There was a St Patty's Day golf cart parade yesterday afternoon, which was fun to watch! Then the "goodbye for the season" dance later on. I don't do the dances because they are too loud. People will be starting to head out now, altho with all the snow up north, they will probably stay a bit longer here if they can. The Canadians need to get back before their 6 months are up so that depends on when they came down last fall.

More rain was predicted for this weekend but nothing here yet. Sunny and light breeze right now.

The wildflowers are blooming down at Anza Borrego by the Salton Sea now. I would like to take a drive down there this next week to check that out. I want to go over to Joshua Tree NP too before it gets too hot and spend a day there. I can pick up my Golden Senior Pass then too.

I ordered a little peddle machine that sits on the floor or on a table, to use for my knees and shoulders. I always use one (at sit on type) at PT to work my shoulders (last year) and now my sciatica and knees. Should be here today sometime. I have had those machines before but the cheap ones don't work very well or smoothly. I did a lot of research on Amazon and read lots of reviews and the one I ordered came with mostly 5 starts and comments about how smooth it moves. So am hoping it is a good one for me. It is small enough that I can take it along in an RV too.

Need to get up and have a little breakfast and get going here. Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It's a bright, sunny day here in the valley, predicted to hit 69°. Rain maybe tomorrow , maybe few clouds today. My morning chores are done and I'll do fitness dancing for 30 minutes before tackling rest of my day. Drinking a chocolate LMNT (electrolytes) drink with added chocolate collagen! Tastes like old fashioned chocolate milk but near zero carb and gets me my potassium and magnesium and sodium balance for the day, along with protein! Surprised how yummy it Is. I had gotten the chocolate a while back, but not tried it, prefering the fruit flavors in morning. But this is a win.
Most of CA has been given a delayed tax date of next October due to ongoing disasters from this years storms- including more slides and mud flows here in the foothills and mountains above us. Gives me a sigh of relief since my laptop died and we need to retrieve hard drive and get tax files and get new laptop set to accept files from back up drives. Ugh! It had been my goal in 23 to get back to using my laptop- I have almost 100% used my iPad and phone, but want bigger screen of my 17 inch laptop to start processing and sorting and scanning old photos. Seems the universe is against that idea, since roadblocks keep getting tossed in front of that plan!
Meanwhile, 18 year old Stormy is doing well for a senior kitty, enjoying time today in sunny windowsill. She is the only cat who we have had who has eaten 100% carnivore her entire life, though having access to dry and canned, she always said no thank you! And she has had the fewest health issues and best teeth of any of the 7 who have reigned as fur queens/kings in our home. She lost one tooth, breaking it on a bone, most likely, but otherwise has perfect teeth per every vet she has met! She has some arthritis in her knees, but otherwise is healthy per all observation and blood work! she's not thrilled with my application of CBD to ears or paws, but will meow at me each morning or evening to remind me she needs it, then happily take a nap once it begins to work.
Suzie, the Amazon parrot, with us since 1979, also continues to do very well for a senior parrot! Seems this house is mostly aging gracefully!
Hope you all have a wonderful day and accomplish what you set out to accomplish!

And then there’s the “Hey mom, I think it’s time I come in. She was out wandering around the yard for a few minutes. My two love this weather as evidenced byMolly who loves to lay it it. Their coats keep them warm.

Silly pups, I love the photos. I did read you were going to get hammered. How do you ever get them dry?

As anyone watching the weather will know it is again winter cold and blustery here in SW Ohio. I headed out this morning in search of a new microwave after spending more time than I wanted reviewing what is out there these days. Crossing the parking lot the only thing missing was the Christmas music. It is bad enough having the concentrate each morning to remember what day it is but getting the time of the year confused is too much. The celebration of the morning was when my shivering bones had be seek out a heavy duty zip up sweatshirt that I don't think I had worn for a year or two even....and I reached in the pocket to find one of my favorite pair of reading glasses from long ago. It was as much fun as finding $10 tucked in the jacket pocket and certainly more exciting than finding a pocket of plastic dog poop bags, empty of course, but all ready accompany some nice dogs on long walks.

I did get an email from the scoring corporation with an off to work a contract for nine week starting the second week of April. This time I wasn't even a little tempted to accept. After years of avoiding formal exercise routines other than hiking with dogs, I am actually regularly attending the water exercise class twice a week (good cardiac without pounding the old joints) and two difference gentle yoga classes. I think they are the only reason am able to move around at all. I think that if I did nothing but sit in my office chair and score tests for 7-8 hours a day you might as well just shovel me on to a pile of blankets and roll me up at the end of the day. I will figure out a budget without those $$$ in them. I have managed for two years. I think it is realistic for me to consider that I might never go back. What time I have that my body is still agreeing to work I think I should spend with my dogs and doing what fun things I can afford...So maybe not big travel but still some travel.

As long as I can keep the wheels rolling without a bank loan. Lark and I are heading out later next week for the Jordan Lake GTG in North Carolina. I am driving Rowan up to Cindy's were she will stay for two weeks or longer. Lark and I need to make some plans.

But first I need some hot tea and a few extra blankets to layer around me and see if I can get my body to warm up. Maybe a nice movie to stream with a warm Jane dog curled up on my lap......

This weather too shall pass. I hope that it does not leave too many homeless in its path of freezing and watery destruction. Stay safe out there.

I looked up the temperatures estimated for North Carolina the end of next week and it made me smile......

Barbie, I've thought about getting one of those. Maybe someday. Sue, I love the pictures. The Eskie I had when I started out rving absolutely loved snow. Peaches enjoyed it. But Moxie had to be begged to come back inside even on the coldest days. Got to love them.

Tina, I hear you clearly. Luckily I try to get my steps in and having Ty helps but I've become too much of a couch potato. So I'm going to see if I can do a combination. My volunteer stint is 3 8 hour days a week. I don't know how busy the place is but my brain needs more stimulation than the boob tube provides. And this place has lots of trails Then my late summer gig is 5 6 hour days and it's supposedly very busy however I like the shorter days and it will pay which won't hurt my bank account. But neither are the hours and days of last summer which I'll never do again. And I'll continue to walk, hopefully as much, as that happened even last summer.

Speaking of walking it's been shorter ones so far today, so time to bundle up and get more steps in.

Sue, it would make a really neat Christmas card photo for next year if you could get both dogs to be that snowy and stand side-by-side! Oh, and may not have Christmas carols in stores, but Hallmark has been sneaking in a few Christmas stories---AACCCKKK!

It has been really cold here in southern New Mexico for the last couple of days. After a week or so of 70 degree days, yesterday's high was 53 and today's high was 49. Tonight is supposed to be 30 and tomorrow 54!! Some rain, and no sun to help warm things up during the day. Quite a shock to my system, so I stayed indoors all day today, and got my new small printer out to figure out how to use it. Also, cleaned and straightened out my refrigerator and make a loaf of bread using a new brand of bread flower I got. Turned out really good.

Tomorrow, I have to dump my tanks and go out to do a couple of loads of laundry. Not having a washer and dryer is one of the big things I dislike about full-time RVing. Luckily, both Ohio and FLorida have them in all state parks!!

Which reminds me, I am going to cancel Jan 6 through Jan 14 at Grayton Beach SP in the Florida Panhandle. I will wait a week of so, but let me know if someone wants them, and I will let you know exactly when I cancel them. Sites are full hookup and very nice. Not directly on the beach, but walking distance to some wonderful shoreline. I have decided to go to the Panhandle in April or May, not January.
