Morning All, will be a cloudy 59°today. I will be busy in the kitchen today.. corned beef and cabbage and Irish Soda Bread on the menu. While that cooks will plant some basil seeds. Already planted 5 sugar snap peas seeds this week. Should be a fun day. Be safe.

Good morning. Getting ready to head north to my BFF Laura's house later today. We are going to kick around in her part of the state for the weekend. Was a spur of the moment decision last night while chatting. Decided this was going to be a great weekend to do that. 63 here today despite a chllly morning of 31. Saturday 65/45. In her neck of the woods it is 64/52 and sunny. Tomorrow 66/45 we have very similar weather other than she gets more rain than I do. Light rain predicted for Sunday but who cares. Just a driving day home, freeway most of the way. Rain with showers here off and on the rest of the week. Oh well Spring will be soon I hope.

Henry is on the job this morning and he will do a couple of other rooms tomorrow morning so I will come home to a clean house. Time to finish my coffee and get a shower and suitcase packed. Can't forget the dog stuff LOL

Good morning gals!

I am not big on St Patty's day stuff but I did find a t-shirt that is kind of a mint green to wear. There is a parade and dance later on today. Not sure if I will go to the dance since the music is usually too loud. There will be a lot of drinking going on today! Last year a big group decided to jump in the pool fully clothed! :o

I am waiting for Dave to come over this morning. I decided I need to put the lattice back up around my deck railing because the stray male cats are coming up and marking at night again. But I am going to have him cut them down to just 12 inches high so they aren't quite as obvious but still block the open area under the railings. I have a gate I close at night so nothing can get up there (unless they are super determined and jump over it but they never did that before).

I got a text message from my former roommate up in Vista. She still lives in the park where I lived. Well, from all the heavy rains there, a couple of sink holes opened up along the hillside on the back side of the park where there is a row of mobile homes. One lady called 911 yesterday morning saying she felt like her home was starting to move! They have now evacuated 18 homes there for fear of the whole hillside coming down! :o My roommate isn't in one of those homes but says they have shut off the water in the whole park for at least a week until they figure out how severe the situation is and what can be done about it. How scary is that? I have been wondering about my old house along the creek. I imagine that got pretty scary high and fierce! I had a couple of sleepless nights after a heavy rain. The homes along the creek could easily collapse and fall into the creek when it is rushing that fast and high. Glad I don't have to worry about that anymore!

Meanwhile, here in the desert, sunny skies, light breeze, singing birds, and a high in the low 70's. :D

I called my SIL in Tucson yesterday. We had a nice conversation and I got to talk to my brother for a few minutes. She did ask me to try and work things out with my other brother and his wife tho. I haven't spoken to him since the whole wedding controversy 4 years ago. His wife and I occasionally email back and forth but keep it light. I told my SIL I would think about it. :? Well, I thought about it all night long  , about all the crap he has said and done to me my whole life and the whole overreaction to me not going to the wedding and the scathing emails they both sent to me afterward. Hard to just "get over" all that, and move on... :(

Anyways, I need to find something for breakfast and get moving here. I have a few errands to run later and then just clean up the house a bit, maybe do some laundry. I am going to start back on my autobiography. Pulled out some of my notes and outlines yesterday. My daughter's birthday is coming up in a couple weeks. She will be 22.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I went in the rec hall kitchen and admit it smells good in there. I didn't sign up for it because I'm not a fan of corned beef or cooked cabbage. I wouldn't mind trying some of the breads I know people are bringing though.

It was about 72 degrees at 6 this morning and in the 50's and super windy by 9 or so. Temps wouldn't bother me if these winds would let up. But better now than in a week when I'll be getting on the road.

Phone just let me know my washer is done so time to go move things into the dryer. Way too windy to consider hanging outside.

Barbie, I read about your old RV Park in this mornings paper. It sounds like a horrible situation!
So glad you are out of there.
Wonderful so many are contributing to keep this forum going. It is important to me as I am stuck at home most of the time.
Shirl, I love watching thos huge chains working. We have many buildings going up around here. The operators are so skillful.
Suns out here. I am watching basketball. Parade here, but I don’t do crowds.

Good afternoon,

Sun is shining and snow piles are being moved. Snow removal budget must really take a hit. I noticed the apartments available here are now listed at a lower rate. I made the deposit this morning for the moving company to move my furniture May 22. I have been going through and cleaning out genealogy files - don't need to move them again!

Lyn, lots of basketball here, too! Karen, I'm sure you and Laura will have a great weekend! Shirl, I wish I had potted some tulip bulbs!

Hope everyone has a good weekend! I'm taking the kids out for their belated 50th birthday dinner. Mongolian grill will be interesting.

Today is going to be a 100% indoor day. It rained a little last night, and the high today is only going to be 52. It was a little cold inside last night, and I should have checked windows and vents because one vent was open. Done that before and wondered why it was so chilly inside here!

I started cooking some ribs I got yesterday on sale. Cut them up, but they were really big so instead of two-rib chunks, some of these are only one-rib chunks. I put some garlic powder on them and will cook them very slowly for maybe three hours, or longer since some are very thick. Want them falling apart. When they are done, I will wrap the chunks up individually and freeze them. Then when I want ribs for dinner, I take one or two out and reheat them in the microwave and then put my homemade barbecue sauce on them.

Also need to get my vacuum cleaner out and vacuum a few things. I noticed last night that my shoe cabinet is really dusty. I keep all my shoes in little stretchy bags I got on Amazon, so they are fine. Just need to pull them out and make sure the bags are not dusty, then get to the bottom of the little cabinet. Will find other things that need vacuuming while I am at it.

the alarm beat me today again... however I fooled it set two didn't hear the first but did the 2nd .... :o
read scriptures then got dressed and we went to the library to get a document notarized afterwards we went to a restaurant for lunch it's been around for lots and lots of years... told mom it had been a gazillion years since I'd been there... I literally can't remember if I've been there since high school... at the time it was expensive it still is... but now I won't look at the place and say I want to go there .... it was great food and good service but hard to justify the price... and I really didn't go all out mom had an elk slider I had a rueban and took a dessert home... almost 50 dollars then add in tip and it's well over 50 dollars
then home
saw several trucks or trailers full of snow had to wonder where they take and dump the snow?
I finally recalled what I wanted to mention last night but it was way later than I was on the computer...
Shirl was talking about liking scrambled eggs soft I think it was Shirl anyway I saw a video awhile back I think it was Chef Irvine that was doing a tutorial on eggs but I bet if one went to food net work you could get lots of ideas of making the "perfect" soft scrambled eggs.. It seems like I even tried on not from them but off yahoo think they were called French scrambled eggs..lots of butter
we had dessert for supper...
you all have a great day
