Sunny chilly Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny chilly Sunday

Good afternoon friends!

It is mid afternoon and 55 degrees in central FL. I woke up to 31 degrees and we had a heavy frost. Church was this morning and that service went well. I'm playing for a Requiem Mass in the morning and the family chose hymns not in our hymnal, so I found them online and have some serious practicing to do. The hymns are beautiful but the prelude, Ave Maria, is difficult to play.

Only a sampling. All had fun. Very windy today so we mainly hung out outside the rec hall. Three prizes awarded. I think Ty was the overall winner but we just had a good time.

Now I hope some of you are awake lol Irmi you beat me by one minute lol I merged them.

Beth, Ty is so cute! Congrats to him! I had my ferrets in Halloween costume contests and they always won!

Irmi, when I was about 7 or 8 my dad bought me a little organ for Christmas. He loved Ave Maria and made me learn to play it (obviously a very simplified version). I only learned that one and "On Top Of Old Smokey!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Oh how fun. Way to go Ty. I love the costumes.. Wonder how the owner convinced the cat to dress up? Not much going on here. But the sun is out and I did get a short walk in. I have a ski pole to use on the ice and do the penguin wa#le to keep upright. For those unfamiliar with the penguin waddle. It is walking with toes pointed outward and taking short steps and keeping the elbows pointed outward a bit. Keeps the body upright. No long fast strides on the ice. Time to put the meat loaf in the oven.

Good afternoon. Just been puttering around the house, finished lunch, cleaned up the kitchen. Now going to look at some recipes of something I can do with the hamburger I took out yesterday. In the mood for something different. Besides I like looking at recipes, especially on the onedishcooking website. I can make 2 different recipes with a pound of hamburger. LOL My freezer is pretty full so I am trying to eat out of it but so far have not made a huge dent LOL I need to go to the store and get some lettuce as I want to make a taco salad. I buy those bowls, add some refried beans, hamburger, cheese, lettuce, tomato, guacamole and salsa. Just heat the bowl up in the air fryer and it stays crunchy. They are often hard to find so I will be on the hunt. They come in packs of 4 and that is perfect for me to eat over the month or two. Took my Christmas lights down and the batteries out of the timer. So ready for next year hah.

Edited to add I found a taco shell pan on Amazon so I can cook my own, no more searching for premade bowls in the store. And these would be super fresh. Oh yes my hunt is over LOL

Thursday when I left to go camping it was so windy I had trouble staying on the road. The wind wasn't as bad after I got North of Lafayette. Two friends that I haven't see in a couple of years were at the campout. It was good to camp with them. It was cold so we had a campfire going every night. Now my coat and jackets need to be washed because they smell like smoke. Friday night it got down to 31 and it was cool in the motorhome. Saturday it wasn't quite as cold and today it was in the 60's . This coming week it's going to be in the 70's until Friday. I got home about 1:00. I'm glad I got home early because it got very windy later.

My electric step was working when I left home but when I got to the campground it wouldn't work. I have a short stool I use sometimes but it was quite a step up to get in the motorhome. I was afraid to put my slide out if I was having electric problems. I didn't want to be stuck up there. I can't tell you how many times Sugar or I turned over her water bowl because there was no place to put it out of the way. I hope the RV shop isn't closed tomorrow so I can make an appointment. This is really getting old.

Ty's costume is cute. We use to put doll clothes on one cat we had and pushed her around in a doll stroller. That poor cat put up with a lot from us. I don't think the cats I have now would put up with that.

I am in a campground just east of Barstow, CA, and about halfway to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in the very southern part of Arizona. So far, good driving. I left Saturday morning during a lull in the rain and made it to Coalinga, then drove today to here--still missed the rain, though it is raining tonight. Tomorrow I head to Parker and the next night will be at Organ Pipe. Whew--four days of driving in a row.

My very expensive front end alignment and new shock absorbers have made a difference in my ride--a little stiffer, but overall much smoother. No bottoming out on even shallow chuckholes. Hope this is the last time I will have to have that job done!

Stopped at the bakery in Tehachapi, and stocked up. Amazing little bakery and cafe in the older, original main street of that town, and it has made the older downtown area really busy. Lots of parked cars and always a line waiting to buy goodies, plus the cafe part is almost always full any time I am there. Good food makes a business successful.

I came back on last night to see if anyone posted after me.... oops I was gone I didn't look to see if it posted just assumed that it did but it was late enough that I didn't want to come back on and try to redo what I'd already forgotten what I wrote..
I did make it to the store yesterday .. as I was going there was a lot of elk down by the south wall of the refuge it really was neat to see...
I had to laugh although admittedly I was somewhat irritated at the same time.. shouldn't have been but you know how it goes... there is a rack with the weekly paper on it as well as what we call the daily it's a free paper that comes out yes daily except Sundays... this guy was looking at the front cover of the weekly then picked up the daily scanned the front cover put it back and took the one under it... weird huh??? so I did the same... not sure why he didn't want the one... the front cover has 390 chase ends in arrest... so took a look at it this taxi driver was stopped for speeding and evading police... his excuse??? he thought he was getting a escort to pick up Harrison Ford... good thinking on the spot driver... although I don't doubt that he is in the valley...
Anne your Esty page... really neat jewelry I will have to look more closely and see if I can figure out which one...
Was reading the weather news on the phone and it said one of the CA lakes is full don't remember what the name was but it's the first time since 2007 I believe was the year...
today was the a typical Sunday Niece came over I was going to give her the mail I forgot to mail at the post office while I was there... was going to text and see if they would get it out of the car... forgot to do that so thought I would just give it to them when they came forgot to do that as well guess who will have to get her butt out of the house before 3 and get the mail to the post office so they can go out??? :? and here I wasn't going to go anywhere tomorrow... guess I could wait till they come tomorrow for supper... if I dare
you all have a great day
