Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday December 9

Morning All, it’s 41° and sunny. A good day to open the balcony door for a half an hour for fresh air. My balcony isn’t as messy from the bird feeders so grateful. Maybe I can thank all the rain for cleaning the balcony. Beth, hoping nice weather for your walks with Ty. Be safe

Morning Shirl. It is chilly outside. Took the dog out then took my garbage to the curb for pickup today. Got rid of some cardboard boxes. I am taking Emma to the groomer today and while she is there will run to the store. I need some things to make my stir fry today. I have some stuff but want more ha ha Also need a few other things. Trying to keep a bit stocked up because I dont want to get in the Christmas shopping crowd any more than I have to. I ordered a few things the other day from Walmart, which I rarely do. Got texts telling me when she left the store, when she arrived AND then she sent a picture of the stuff on my porch. I got a chuckle out of that. Never seen that before ha ha Amazon doesnt do that, heck my lazy a** mailman cant even ring my doorbell. But Alexa is always on the job so she lets me know.

Good afternoon gals!

She told me she, her granddaughter and the granddaughter husband were going to come to my house for Christmas. I told her I wouldn't be home. I don't know where I'm going but I won't be home.

Martha, you just crack me up!!

Well, I got up for work this morning to cover for one of the stylists who needed the day off (not the new girl). My old manager had texted me the other day asking, "pretty please with lots of chocolate", if I would do that. So I went in and found my new manager and the gal I was supposed to be covering for, there. We all just looked at each other like "what's going on?". Well, turns out it is for NEXT Friday! The text said "THIS Friday" and even underlined! So anyways, I left and since I was in the neighborhood, I stopped at Hobby Lobby to return some Christmas decorations I had bought for the tree I ended up returning to WM. Then stopped at Home Depot for a couple things. Then home.

There is a yard sale going on in the park again so I drove around but not very many are participating. One house I stopped at had 6 big bags of wine bottle corks for sale. My friend from the pot shop uses those for her Etsy projects, so I called her to see if she wanted me to grab them for her. She did so I paid $3 for all of them. We will get together for lunch next week so I can give them to her then. We haven't seen each other since I left there almost a year ago.

Just had 2 sloppy joes for lunch and now need to figure out what to take care of next. Still can't get the battery out of my bike. Probably should do laundry. Seems like I just did that last week but I am out of work clothes already so it must have been 2 weeks ago.

It turns out the "turkey card" is just a grocery store gift card that we can use to get a turkey if we want, or for anything else we need. Why don't they just call it a "Holiday gift card?? :? Now I do remember getting one of those each year, but they confused me with the "turkey" part. So the $20 card will come in handy for a couple things I want to get to contribute to our Christmas dinner here in the park. We are supposed to bring a side dish or appetizer so I am going to buy that good cole slaw I got for Thanksgiving and add a couple things to it (pineapple and mini marshmallows) and also some flowers to make a couple small table arrangements.

I put the harness on Romeow today and took him outside. He just laid on the grass and cried pitifully! I had to carry him back in the house. :( I will have to try putting him in the screened in cat pen I have and see if he does better in an enclosed space. Need to take him for some short car rides and see how he does with that too.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, I just hope my sister takes the hint. Don't call me Christmas because I won't be answering my phone. I would be the one that would have to wait on that bunch.

My son called me this morning and said he was weak. I went to see if I could get him to go to the hospital but of course he wouldn't. I took a blood pressure monitor and his blood pressure was 105. I don't remember what the bottom number was. One of the doctors he saw last week prescribed blood pressure pills. I'm no doctor but I told him to take his blood pressure before he takes another pill and if it is low don't take the pill. When we were camping my sister took her blood pressure one morning and it was 120. She takes a blood pressure pill morning and night. She took her morning pill and in about an hour her blood pressure was 83 and she was about to pass out. She called her doctor's office and they told her to get some adult Pedialyte. So I had to go to Walmart and get it for her.

Karen, I saw a post on Facebook about a Walmart delivery. A woman said someone delivered her order, took a picture and then took her order. She saw him do it.

Nothing really to say. I don't join into a lot of park activities, etc, so it's interesting that yesterday and today all kinds of people are finding me to welcome me back and give me hugs, etc. So what do I do? Sign up to go out to a neighboring town for Christmas decorations and dinner next Thursday. I actually think it'll have more of the new people than returnees but I'm determined to be a tad more social. I did a couple loads of laundry and Ty and I walked the canals and the part of the park I didn't walk yesterday. I've run my AC more today because I looked and don't have my dehumidifier with me, so that's bringing the humidity down in here. It's set at 78-80 so doesn't come on often. In a few days the humidity should be at a better level. That said, my breathing and sinuses are already better than they've been in months.

Oh, and the ongoing saga of my TV is still ongoing. Not sure if I posted about it here. Yesterday my remote wouldn't turn on my TV. This TV has absolutely NO controls on the actual TV. I tried googling solutions. Nothing worked. The 3rd time I tried new batteries, it worked. I thought I was going insane. So I was going through the channels to write down the ones I'd most want, when, yep, the remote stopped working. On a Spanish speaking sports show. At this time today, the only way to turn the TV off or on is to unplug it and plug it back in. Of course it turns on automatically when plugged in and is locked on that Spanish channel. Finding a universal remote that should work with this TV was challenging, but I found one and it'll be here sometime late next week. If it doesn't work, it'll get returned and I'll be TV shopping. Probably should have just started with a new TV, but I'm cheap.

On another note I sent in my paperwork a few months ago to start taking social security after this last birthday. I thought all was set and knew I'd put the wrong month to start but wasn't going to do anything to cause problems for one month. Then today I got a call from a wonderful lady from social security who had to clarify something on one of my returns. That took two seconds then she said it's probably not her business but do I realize I could start getting benefits this month instead of January at my maximum rate? I told her I thought I answered a question wrong that screwed up the date and I'd have to live with it. She laughed and said with two clicks on her computer she could change it. So now I'll start getting benefits next week.

Ok, for nothing to say, you just got a book. Night all.

I can look back on the day and say I did all I planned on doing... there are things that I should have done but it will happen another day... went to the Christmas party tonight had the best roast beef ...I took peanut butter pie... it was suppose to have chopped peanuts on the top but I forgot to get some so tasted some here that has been hanging out for as long as I've been here... not good need to give them a toss... have any of you heard of flaky sea salt? it was also suppose to be on the top of the pie that I couldn't find... so it didn't happen either... but when I licked off the scraper it tasted good.. I went back to get a piece to take home... none left... which is probably good... mom didn't want to go it's like I told some one there are just some battles that I give on... if she doesn't want to go it's not worth forcing her
I nephew got the battery replaced in the fob... even works...
we all know that I can ramble on forever so good to see you do it Beth lol
Barbie have you tried to put the harness on Romeow and just let him wander around inside the house... perhaps when he gets used to the harness he will be more willing to move around... and inside the house is his comfort zone...
I think I need to go find a sweat shirt I am chilled
you all have a great day

Sheila, yes I have a box of Maldin flaked salt I use on certain things, like a fresh broiled steak, or on certain desserts. It gives both crunch and hit of salt flavor.
Barbie, you need to put that harness on him a few minutes every single day and even if he just lays there, pet him amd praise him, and give him a treat. He's young, I suspect he just needs time. When we got our girls their walking jackets years ago, Stormy was excited and like she had worn one every day of her life. Mandy, laid down and would not move , but watched her sister having fun, so decided very soon ,hey, I don't want to miss out, so she adapted to having one of us on the other end of the leash. They both loved it , once they figured out it was fun.
Our Amazon people always take photos after setting package on deck. In fact, that's how a neighbor proved her package was missing, because the photo was not of her porch!
Storm headed in, wind coming in next few hours.
