Sunday November 13

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday November 13

Afternoon All, It’s sunny, chilly 50° bur 83° on the balcony. Predicted 32°tonight so will continue to cover plants at night since winter has arrived. Read an article with a bold heading of snow coming for 2000 miles across the country. In the article were the words, May, possibly, could, might. Lol The bay bridge run is today so traffic back ups. #1 daughter and I had a long text conversation about the run and the fact that we do not like to even drive across the bridge. Todays temps of 50°, winds17 mph, gusts 27 mph, bridge sways when windy. You can see down through the expansions sections. Nope. I have been emptying the closet of holiday items that #1 daughter can use or not since she has taken over family dinners. I don’t contribute food anymore since it’s too difficult to transport the items. I think she appreciates monetary contribution more. I’m having a piece of marinated salmon with a balcony salad for dinner. Just putzing the rest of the afternoon. Be safe.

Sunday

Postby Othersharon » Sun Nov 13, 2022 2:46 pm

It’s already into the afternoon and here I sit. Plenty of things to do but haven’t gotten into them yet. I think winter has arrived. It’s cold and we’ve had rain, wind snow flurries and a bout 5 minutes of sun. Thanks for the warning, Sue! We haven’t gotten this snow other then the flurries earlier but we’re sure getting some of what you’ve had. So today just seems like a day to just stay in and cozy. Judy, I have the same situation with the cold air coming from the cab. The curtain that came with my camper is short like yours. It wasn’t something I wanted to change when I had the dogs since they liked to curl up on the seats in front and the shorter one made it easier for them. But now I think I should do a longer one. I use it sometimes to block some of the heat on hot days. I’ve thought about a tension rod across since there are only 2 snaps on the curtain and so far I haven’t found anything that will stick to the material on the overhang. And I’ve hesitated putting holes in the material. I’m certainly open to any ideas! Not much else happening so I’ll post this and get back to my not so busy day!

I'll post on this posting because it was posted first.

Slept in again. I go to bed at midnight but have trouble getting to sleep and then wake up several times in the night, sometimes for 30 minutes to an hour, so I really lose sleep. Probably heading out for a walk and to get some propane today. Almost out and it is going to be cold again every night this week.

It got down to 38 last night and it's up to 62. It will probably start dropping soon. I think I would rather complain about the hot weather than the cold. lol I need to go walk Sugar but don't want to. We got a little over an inch of rain the other night. I guess the ground was so dry it soaked it all up and I couldn't tell it rained.

The front curtain in my motorhome is short too and it's on a track. I just put the insulated curtains on a rod and fasten it behind the front seats. There's usually so much stuff in the front seats Sugar can't get in them anyway. When my motorhome was in the shop they put the shade by one of the beds all the way to the top. That shade needs to be restrung. I don't know what's going to happen when I pull it down. I restrung a single curtain one time but this one is a double. I have read the directions on how to do it. When I was camped at the campground with the lazy river we burnt out a fuse that goes to the 12 volt lighter plug in front blowing up floats. The fuse box is up under the steering wheel. I need to replace that fuse so I can use my GPS but I have a hard time looking up at things.

I was late getting lunch cooked. I made a Hashbrown and Ham recipe that I'm going to cook in 2 pans and freeze. I baked a small bowl of it and it's ok but not great. I started out mixing it in a 12 cup bowl but had to move it to the gumbo pot. There's a lot of it. I baked two chicken thighs and found some dressing in the freezer. The other day I had bought a package of okra that you cook in an air frier. It didn't cook very well in my air fryer so I cooked the rest of it in the oven. It doesn't cook very well in the oven either.

There was a cat explosion last night. Annie laid down on the controls for the recliner, the seat went up and dumped everything that was in the seat in the floor and Annie freaked out. When one cat freaks out they all do.

Last night I got a pillow to put under my arm when I went to bed and slept all night without waking up.

Barbie, I sent you a message on Facebook.

I'm surprised the phone and the computer both agree on the temp it's 12 degree's I don't know what it got to but not very high I'm sure if it got above freezing I'd be surprised... it's doesn't look like it's going to warmer any time soon... so I guess I will just complain about the cold daily :o
I have this throw I put over my legs but then the back is exposed to the chilly room that space heater that they advertise on tv ??? it sounds so good and saw it only costs pennies a day to use but I look around and no exposed wall plug in stuff if front of them so she has ran power strips... and that one it shows it being plugged in to the wall...
it's just been a typical Sunday even caught an hour nap...
that said I can't even think of what to ramble on about...
tomorrow I need to go to the store nephew and family coming for supper and I need to pick up mom's medicine the only prescription she takes... bought a bunch of lemon's the other day as cold as it is we might still have lemon aid have seen this recipe for a pasta where the cheese think its a block of can't remember which one now and tomatoes the cherry ones and she uses asparagus pop that in the oven till the tomatoes pop (oh forgot olive oil lots of it) and you cook the penne according to directions then mix it all together the stuff in the oven is suppose to make a really nice sauce...we will see... probably have strawberry/spinach salad and garlic bread... that is the thought anyway
you all have a great day

We had a mini gtg today. Cheryl, Brenda, my friend Ginger and I had a fun lunch (where we all ordered breakfast). It was a good time. Ginger then headed back home and Cheryl brought me back which excited Ty who hadn't seen her for a couple years Tomorrow I meet a childhood friend and her husband who are cooking for us. I usually plan things to avoid driving at night, but that'll be unavoidable tomorrow. Tuesday is my first medical appt, to the dermatologist. Then to Benson and my annual doctor's appts and any tests.

Sheila-NEVER plug a space heater into a "power strip". A heater carries too much amperage and can start a fire.
We spent a quiet day, as usual. Learned on zoom church that a childhood friend of my boys, is a professor at BYU and an expert (PHD) in biblical history and was guest speaker on a popular podcast. It was fun watching it on YouTube, since we knew him as a small boy.
Tomorrow I have lunch with church friends. Tuesday Chris has a Dr appointment down in Sacramento. One day, we need to finish shopping for thanksgiving, which we are keeping simple.
Have a good week.
