Let's start our day with a good morning here.

On Saturday Morning

Good Morning to all. Hope everyone that is traveling is having mostly good adventures as well as those of you that move through your everyday days.

Lark, Jane and I, are off towards Maryland for a meet up tryst with Jane's handsome suitor. She had a vet check up here in Ohio and some blood work completed yesterday and will get the results this morning that let us figure the best timing on her get together. Am hoping to slow down near Lori and Dock's place to wave hi, but will know more after the numbers come in regarding the timing. I expect to see some lovely fall colors along the way through the hills of PA, WV and Maryland. Ohio is pretty bright and beautiful, itself.

Afternoon here in northern Michigan. On my lunch lunch break from working outside. Cleaning up the ton of leaves from my yard and my neighbors. We have had so much wet damp weather over the past week plus the snow that nobody has been able to get out and then they just keep coming down. But we have a beautiful weather pattern right now and we may even hit 70° today so that is definitely helping dry things out.

Took an overnight run to downstate for my cousin’s funeral and on Wednesday. I was glad to get back home. There is so much road construction in that area and when you are not that familiar with the roads anymore, the heavy traffic, and some rainy weather occasionally, it is no picnic. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough  but it was nice to see my one cousin from Pennsylvania whom I haven’t seen for probably 20 years and a couple of my other cousins as well although we didn’t have much time to talk. Too many people there. The funeral was nice and he was laid out in his Firemans dress uniform with the lieutenant stripes on his sleeve. he joined the fire department right out of high school and stayed with it all these years until he retired. At that time he was in charge of one of the fire stations. He also what is the sole driving force behind the establishment of the Shelby Twp. FD establishing an EMS/Paramedic unit. At the time he joined the department Shelby Township was just a small area, but it is now a full grown city and has more than one station. He took paramedic training when the paramedic thing started and that’s how they eventually got a unit going. He dedicated his life to serving his community. He was also very active in his church. He will be missed. He was also the executor of my state so now I have got to find somebody else.

The pups had to stay home while I was gone and it was the first time that they had been away from me. They had Wednesday night after themselves here but my one cousin by marriage per se was coming to let them in and out and feed them and take them for a little walk and stuff. But she said that they missed me, because whenever they were out they would go to the fence looking for me. Needless to say there were two very happy dogs when I got home.

Time to get back to work here so you all have a good afternoon.

Good morning. Just finished breakfast and now I have to get busy for a while. I like to accomplish something each day. Makes housekeeping so much easier. Today I am cleaning out my dresser drawers and closet of most of my summer clothes. Get them packed up until next year. Of course I keep a few short sleeved things out, ya know just in case we have a heat wave ha ha.

Tina and Sue on roadtrips. Sue you did have a quick trip and I can imagine how the dogs did miss you. Tina taking Jane for an "encounter", good luck hoping for pups.

It's a nice cool 65° here, with sun in and out behind clouds. Leaves not really coming down much yet, but starting to turn color. This is the day my class from HS is having a get together, but it's a bit over 100 miles south, for 3-4 hour get together, then drive home in dark, I decided to skip it this year. My motivation for 200+ mile round trips for a few hour visit, just doesn't do ot anymore. I went last year when it was in a long time friends back yard, vs a smoky bar! Maybe next year!
Sue, do you hand rake yard or have a machine?
Slight chance of showers over next week. Sure hope they show up and sit a while over us. Temps finally staying below 90 and maybe even below 80, for a change. Not sure what I will get done today, but, like Karen, I try to get a few things done.

...vs a smoky bar!

Is there such a thing as a smokey bar anymore? I wish our reunions were in someone's back yard. They pick super expensive places and then don't offer anything but horsedeuvers ( :? ) and a boom box for music.

Woke up early bright eyed and bush tailed at 6:30am :o I guess there is no more sleeping in for me. I just wake up and that is it. I guess that is a good thing but I need to get to bed sooner if I am gonna keep waking up that early!

My back is sore this morning. Hoping it isn't too busy at work this afternoon.

Three more continental breakfast then it's clean, etc to close up. Yay. The airbnb rental was stupidity rented after the motel is closed. So my plans to be gone the 30th or 31st got dashed. I will leave the 1st and probably will not completely clean that like the motel rooms are getting done.

Winds are with us today. Snow coming overnight with bitter cold overnight (only showing low to mid 30's for tomorrow's high.) Brrrr. It'll improve some the rest of the month but nights mainly in the teens. Ty and I moved into the back room in the office to sleep for this week. The couch isn't too bad and it allows me to not have to run my propane furnace too warm and hopefully not run out of propane before heading out. Fingers crossed.

Barbie, I didn't even consider my hs reunion this fall. Some of there outside activities might have been ok, but I had no desire for the large venue, costing too much, etc.

It's 86, sunny and very windy today. I am doing almost zero. About the only thing I got done is bring Sugar's bed that I washed out to the motorhome. I probably need to unload a few things before I bring it to the shop but I have all week. I'm missing a campout. I thought about going and just ruffing it with no electricity but since I think the motorhome had an electrical short I'm afraid I might burn it down.

Beth, I didn't realize your motel season was almost over. I'm sure you will be glad to head South.

Karen, it would be a waste of time for me to put my summer clothes away and I don't know where I would put them. It is seldom cold enough to even wear long sleeve shirts. Most of the time I won't even wear a coat to go in a store because I would be too hot in the store and I don't want to carry my coat around.

I have missed a few funerals mostly because I don't read the local paper and don't know someone has died unless someone posts the obituary on Facebook. A few I wouldn't go to because there would be too many people. When covid started funerals seemed to be the super spreaders.

I need to go to sleep earlier because Sugar is not going to let me sleep late. I usually put the tv on the Hallmark channel after the late shows are over and watch Frazier. Last night they started with the Christmas Movies. I need an emoji of someone throwing up. I would like the late show host's jobs. They film a couple of weeks of shows and then rerun them several times. I know I have a short memory but even I remember seeing them before.

Last night one of the cats left a dead rat in Sugar's yard and she ate it. Gross! There was no way I was going to get it away from her. So far it doesn't look like it made her sick.

Tina, hope the 'hot date' goes well!

Karen and Sue, sorry about your relatives and neighbors.

I also try to get at least one thing done a day. Did clean my bedroom except the very large, messy closet. Martha, I read obituaries online. Sometimes I'll see one in Kansas I can let my aunt know about. RV friends had a memorial for their 46-year-old son in Virginia today.

Woke up to sunshine and no smoke! Only in the 50s, but I took the Sling out for a ride. Rain predicted yesterday and today has not arrived.

Woman in town near shops walked her dog before light this morning and was surprised by a black bear which attacked her. Non-life-threatening injuries thank goodness. Lots of FB posts that bear is often seen with 2 cubs in that neighborhood (where woman lives) so not sure why anyone would not be prepared or more cautious. Of course, people are upset bears weren't relocated and because bear was euthanized.

Time for another football game!

Anita, that is sad! Did they locate the cubs at least? Mom was probably just trying to protect her cubs.

just got home from work. Fairly steady today. I had a Mexican gal who didn't speak English so my coworker came over to find out what she wanted. They talked for awhile and then he told me "she wants a wedge", and walked away! :? Well, there are lots of variations of wedge cuts! I did a very conservative wedge on her and she seemed to like it. I will be so glad to be done working there!

It is getting windier out now, so the dust will be blowing around tonight. I closed my porch windows this morning just in case the wind started earlier in the day like predicted. At least I don't have to worry about losing any more trees, as long as the palm trees stay put!

Gonna just relax tonight and try to get to bed earlier. Work from 10-4 tomorrow. I dropped of the stuff in my car at the thrift store on the way to work this morning. Tomorrow I will stop at the storage unit after work and take out the camper stuff I put in there so I can put that in the shed and have more room for the storage stuff.

Have a good night!

Watching surprise surprise a new Christmas movie on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries suppose to have new movie's every Saturday it will surprise me if they do... I'm with Martha of the two half movies I've seen in the past couple of days I remembered both of them :?
it started out good this morning two looks that if looks would kill well I wouldn't be posting tonight
my youngest brother is coming for supper tomorrow... I text him when he said he could come and asked him what he would like no reply so went with my original idea and got hamburger for meatloaf... so he finally text me after I got home what time we discuss that for a bit then he says pork chops and mashed potatoes hmm says I pork chops didn't get into the basket but I can look in the freezer see if any are in there he said no to go with what I had planned so meatloaf it is
I had a thought on Monday that I should have bought some groceries for my dear daughter whose refrigerator I cleaned out so they would at leas had food for Sunday dinner well by Monday that was a bit too late so today I talked with my #3 dd and since she was going to see her sister she agreed to pick up some stuff so sent her a list text her awhile ago and asked what it came to... she said that they had had so many dinner's brought it that we shouldn't do it ... foiled again!!!! the first because I just didn't think of it and now because other's beat me too it!!!
the missionaries stopped by the other day and I said I heard you two were looking for service projects they said yes... so I asked if they could come trim the bushes that I seem to brush up against when existing the garage... they came today so that is done... went to the store... and read scriptures about all that I did not much huh????
I'm going to be saying it's cold now cause it's cold ... and so far not gotten the pellet store started I had my nephew look at it to see if it needed cleaning out he did and said it was ok although he took some ashes out thing is he never looks in the other area it was so full of ash so got rid of it vacuumed it out might need to try vacuuming it out again it's hard to get down into the very bottom of the whatever it's called
hmm so far not remembering this movie which is too bad if I remember them then I don't feel bad if I go to my room in the middle of it
glad your smoke as cleared out some Anita bet it felt good to take the sling out..
read on FB that one of my Q friends passed away really surprised me... her husband has been so sick for several years and fully expect to hear that he has passed away not his wife....
a rat Martha???? ugh :o
and hopefully puppies how fun that will be ... Lyn are you still planning on getting a dog? or did you change your mind?
you all have a great day
