Good afternoon Cheryl and everyone!

Cheryl, safe travels to your destination! Sandi, a friend of mine had a car with the pearl white color and it was awesome! Enjoy your Tesla and have fun on the trip with your daughter! Sheila, the cruise you took sounded wonderful! We've only been on one from Christmas to New Years Day and it was spectacular. Anita, have fun on your trip. Anne, I agree with what Judy said about going to the west coast, where she is, to enjoy the cooler weather. Barbie, keep going from room to room to continue down sizing. How is your Jeep acting? BJ, I hope your weather starts cooling off soon. Martha, lots of your posts have me laughing out loud. Beth, I'm glad you had stipulations about your working at the hotel again next summer. You might want to put those in writing.

As all of you know, we have Hurricane Ian practically staring us in the face, although it'll still be several days before it actually hits us. As of this morning, it looks like he's tracking a little to the northwest, so Tampa may not get a direct hit, and we're only an hour north of Tampa. Lots of things can change between now and then, so everyone is keeping a close eye on the storm. We started securing the lighter weight tables yesterday that we had in the pergola and they're in Steve's truck, which has a cover over the bed. We'll continue securing the heavier weight items with bungee cords with hopes things will stay in place. That's my itty bitty news wishing hurricanes were itty bitty.

I'm here. I moved my left shoulder in a somehow funny way this morning, and it has been very painful. In fact, it took me over two hours to get my shorts on. I managed to pull up my underwear very slowly, but the shorts were very painful. My right arm was able to easily pull up right side of undies and shorts, but I got sharp pains trying to pull up left side. Gave up with the shorts for a while and put up my front mesh privacy curtain so no one could see me wandering around in my underwear. Its strange because I can move my shoulder in certain ways, but other ways hurt like heck, and it sometimes changes. If I just hold my arm still and let it rest, it gets better. And last night, I slept on it off and on with no pain. In any case, I am got getting a shoulder replacement for a long time.

Barbie, you have a very funny cat. How about putting up a bird feeder near the bookcase window so he has something to watch? Actually, my son's cat is funny too because she came in as a tiny kitten and took over dominance with the dog immediately.

Love Sundays because the weekend crowd has packed up and left, so it is only us quieter and older folks. It will fill up this afternoon, but not with families.

Just finished lunch, cleaned up the kitchen and now will settle down for the afternoon. I went over to my neighbor Jerry's house for dinner last night. His daughter came down from Newberg (near Portland) to help him this weekend with some shopping and a couple of other chores while he is being treated with radiation. She hadn't seen me for a while so wanted me to come over so we could visit and she fixed a huge pot of spaghetti sauce to freeze in serving sizes for her Dad to just heat up. I recommended she get him the Fasta Pasta cooker. No fuss, no muss and it works great Dinner was very good. Had a good visit also.

Going to be warm again this afternoon. Think I better set my AC for later this afternoon. 86 predicted. Mon 89, Tue 81 then down in the 70's. Not bad weather at all. Several of you all on the move, hope you are having fun. Sandi is busy toodling around in her new car. Judy sorry to hear you have a bum shoulder today. Hopefully it will leave as quickly as it came. I am feeling pretty darn good the last few days so slowly building up my stamina after doing nothing for 8+ months. So far so good.

Fingers crossed for all my friends in Florida that the hurricane is not as bad as predicted. Those darn things scare me to death. This one looks pretty bad. I have several friends in Florida and they are busy contemplating what to do, go or stay. Most are staying. So fingers crossed they stay safe.

Karen, I neglected to say that I'm so happy you're finally feeling better, eating better and maybe putting on weight. I hope this continues for you. You've gone way too long with the long Covid mess and hopefully this will only be a memory to leave forever. Keep doing whatever you're doing.

Yes Irmi it was a long 9 months. I am eating good and I did gain 2lbs so I am heading in the right direction. I have never been that sick for that long. So it feels really good to be able to do normal things.

I found out last night that one of my neighbors died. He and his wife have a park model across the street from me. They are snowbirds and live in Washington. They are the ones who let me use their golf cart this summer. He was a really nice, funny guy. He had a stroke about 3 years ago and that left him with some physical disabilities but was still very sharp mentally. I don't know what caused his death. She just posted about it on our community FB page yesterday. I would imagine she will sell the park model. I will have to call her soon and find out when she will be coming down here. I have the keys to their place and shed. I need to clean up the golf cart real nice before she comes back.

I picked up some BBQ sauce after work so will heat up some tri-tip for supper.

Irmi, my car is still not wanting to start on the first try. I am going to take it to the Jeep repair place later this week and see if they can figure it out. Stay safe from the hurricane! I think Donna is heading out and maybe Liz too.

Judy, sorry to hear about your shoulder. I can mess mine up if I sleep on my side the wrong way. Ice or heat can help a lot. I still have some of the CBD balm I got from the lady I worked with at the pot shop, and that works really great!

Tomorrow is a long 9 hour day for me  . But Mondays are usually a little on the slow side so I can sit and read in between haircuts.

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

we left youngest daughter's house yesterday morning and drove and drove my dd that I was driving with son and wife were at her sister's for a family thing... dd wanted to see her grandkids and it was getting late so we stopped and spent the night if was so nice of her sister... however my dd's granddaughter is still mad at her grandma... wouldn't cuddle wouldn't give or accept hugs... although she did allow her to read to her... she will get over it loves her grandma but I'm betting that dd was sad although understanding about it...we drove around the town a bit today before leaving quite a few of the houses were built really close to each other took a picture and posted it on FB the eves of both houses touched... I told dd that they were so close that they could hear each other gargle...
Ace's had a sign out that said Fall our second favorite F word... the mind wants to know what the first is???
went to Idaho Falls to the hospital to see my son in law he is having another surgery tomorrow to finish up what they started on the one leg... when they can get him to what ever point he needs to be in he will go to rehab... they are hoping for one in a town that is closer to home... it would make it easier for my dd to see him plus his son goes to school in that town...he had a good friend that extensive issues I think following an accident and he gave great reviews for this rehab so sil is hoping the insurance will let him go there... he is doing better actually better than expected but has so far to go... I can imagine that his feet are really in bad shape as he landed on them but if he had landed on his back he would be paralyzed and on his hear probably dead... so we are still counting our blessings..
Sandi is so good to hear of you and your daughter doing things together... and a new car what fun..
had to put the oxygen back on when we got to Idaho... but the concentrater keeps beeping so I am just checking my numbers often trying to save the big tank for night time hopefully it has enough in it to last all night might use one of the smaller tanks when I go to bed while reading ect then switch to the larger one... the problem is that the tank is going to be so much in the way...
I need to unpack but that will happen tomorrow other than what is on my bed... it needs to be put away...
and my feet are swollen again not that they have ever gone down much... tomorrow when I go to get my stuff for the nebulizer I'll see about getting some water pills over the counter stuff didn't want to while traveling... and will need to go to the store no milk or bread or fresh stuff...
it's cooler here Anne
well I need to go to the room and figure out what to do first to find the bed...
before getting back on the ship at Victoria I went to this gift shop and no they didn't have the bear either nor the stuff animal... but wandered through and found this wolf figurine (when I had checked in with my dd who's husband had fallen I asked her if she would feel upset if I brought back something from Alaska since they didn't get to go... I told her that I had seen a mug that said mama bear and thought of her... she said look for some mama wolf... saw this figurine that was a wolf sorta the wolf with in ... so hard to describe wish I'd taken a picture of it... but walked past it then back to it and found some maple syrup and a trivet got to check out and the wanted to charge .25 cents for a bag hmmm there was this really pretty bag so took it cost 17 to save .25 doesn't make any sense at all but I don't regret it...it's so pretty...
you all have a great day

Thanks, Irmi. It was 70 degrees here this morning at 2 a.m., I think it made it to about 93 yesterday afternoon. Cool weather would certainly be nice!

Irmi, thinking of you this morning. . . I have been watching the hurricane models just now, might not be looking too good for Tampa at the moment. . . but as you say, things can change Hope you have battened down the hatches. . . you might want to be thinking about trekking north.

Please post when you can, we are all rooting for you!

Stay safe!
