Wednesday September 21

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday September 21

Afternoon all, still warm but not unbearable. Looking ahead, Saturday the temps drop to the 70’s and I am so happy. This time of year Marylanders are always concerned about hurricanes but looking forward to fall. Well, not Edith but she doesn’t weigh 100 lbs and hates cold weather. I really just stopped in to post on gardening. Think a nap is on the agenda. Plump rotisserie chicken on a big salad for dinner, Found a recipe for creamy chicken and pasta for tomorrow. Will add some steamed broccoli, need those veggies. Be safe

It's 96 here and the noon weather said it feels like 107. I don't know because I'm in the house where it's 76. I'm so glad I have electricity from Slemco Co-op instead of Entergy. The Entergy customers have a Facebook site where they are complaining about their bills. People are getting their electricity cut off because they can't pay their bills. Their bills have gone up 4 times what they were a year ago. Some are trying to go without air conditioning. We bought the property in Maurice in case we would ever have to move. It has Entergy electricity. After seeing all this I would never build a house there. The Entergy CEO got a 4 million dollar bonus and then I think I saw where he resigned. He better leave the country.

I have been wanting to get a rotisserie chicken but Walmart is alway out. I use to be able to get the ones that are marked down and put in the refrigeration section. Not any more. I have been trying to stay away from Sam's because I always get too much. At the campout someone brought some Lemon cupcakes from Costco. They were so good but huge. We cut them in 1/4 and it was still a lot of cake. I probably should eat lunch instead of thinking about cake.

The weather channel is saying we could have a storm in the Gulf in about 10 days. Oh Joy! I wish it would go North and out to sea.

Shirl, Your creamy pasta and chicken sounds good. I love pasta. Since my appetite has picked up many things sound good. Just had a ham sandwich for lunch. My neighbor brought me some chicken noodle soup last night so will have that for dinner tonight.
We have had rain the last couple of nights but not alot. Last night around 6 we had a downpour and it rained all night because I heard it on the roof and skylights. Hope it keeps coming......but this week our temps just keep going up and up into the high 80's. Hope it is summers last hurrah.
I really like Costco's baked goods BUT your right Martha they are huge and you have to buy so many at a time. I have several cake mixes so might have to drag one out and make either a cake or cupcakes. I will share with my neighbors.

I finally found the right AC unit in stock somewhere. It is in Oregon at a Camping World, just south of Portland, which is going to be convenient and not require me to drive a lot out of my way. So, I have an appointment for October 13, and they are holding it for me! Yea!

Also, I love the little strawberry cakes that Walmart has. They are in the refrigerated place in the bakery area, and are only 6" in diameter and one layer, so I cut each one into several small pieces and freeze them. (Except for the one I eat, obviously.)

I've been working to do more cleaning out things I do not wear and getting rid of them. My closet shelves already look better. Next step is to go through a couple of my outside storage areas to get rid of stuff there. I also need to find the sand samples I have tucked away there. OK, I know this sounds strange, but I decided a few years ago to save something that would remind me of places I have been. I decided to collect sand, and so far probably have a dozen samples. I would try to find clean beach sand and then bake it in my microwave to kill any critters, etc. I originally found some little spice bottles, but they had wire closures like old- fashioned canning jars, and they rusted. So I asked for a spice rack and some bottles for my birthday. Unfortunately, the bottles my son got that I had picked out on Amazon did not fit the spice rack, so when i was in Napa for Labor Day, we went to Michaels and found some that were perfect--right size and also no metal on them. Here are two samples--one from Henderson Beach on the Florida Panhandle and the other from Gamble Rogers on the Atlantic. The Henderson Beach sample is the pure white one, below, and the one from the Atlantic is mostly ground up shells and is dark. Eventually, I need to print out nice labels. Bottles are about4" tall.

that is a fun thing Judy shouldn't weigh too much and very unique...
don't know why my dd choose high benches for her table and the chairs are even higher...my legs are so tired of dangling  just can't get comfy
although looking at the time I should get off and read scriptures and go to bed... it's been another full day of not sure what...the girls went into the antique stores I started but walking and I are not friends at this moment ...my knee's just aren't happy at me not sure if it was sitting on the scooter, bracing myself on the ship or new shoes or they are just finally really complaining but so sore right now...oh well not much I can do about it right now... so need to go and get those walking sticks and see if they will aid me in walking more..
my niece and her husband and daughter came over and I gave her her afghan and had a good visit... it's been a few years since I've seen her... then we all went to have something to eat and then to aid in getting the kids asleep we went for a drive... I am sure it was beautiful it was in the dark so bet it would be better in the day time. but it did the job the kids were asleep before we got home...
it's going to be hard to go over the cruise... I should have gotten it all out in one night but truly have been so tired... partly sleeping on the couch as this short fat old body can't get up into the guest bed... so next time will need to bring a step stool or try the one they have not sure it's tall enough and #2 daughter doesn't want to share so if she slept out on the couch she wouldn't get much sleep either so it's better for me ... I don't get as grumpy
ship life is so different you have people that just cater to you and what you might want..or need...
and food every were if you couldn't find something to eat you weren't looking... lounges all over... even though we don't drink we consumed a lot of "virgin" drinks I know I'm sure they don't taste the same but for one who has never drank one doesn't know right??? regardless of the "free flowing" all day long I think I only saw one person that was visibly over the top and even he was still walking... they told us in the orientation (sorta) that if we wanted more than one entree to do so want three lobster's get them... they had one night where lobster was on the menu.... so when they told us that they were pretty small I did get two... very good...I don't know what potato they used for bakers but so yummy... so creamy :o
they had activities going on all the time... some I'm sure to encourage one to spend money like in the Spa but some were just that fun I loved watching the girls my older 3 love music love to see along and love to dance and it was fun seeing them doing this... my middle of the three of course didn't make it due to her husband's accident (she posted on FB he so owes me!!!) but the two there sure enjoyed getting up and naming the tune or whatever the activity was...even my interverted dd got up to the mike once I was very impressed... she must have done it twice has she had two rings...
will continue on another time
