Thursday August 25

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday August 25

Morning All, still hot and humid. Maintenance came yesterday for quarterly visit, changing filters, checking safety detectors and whatever they do. Glad they do but it’s a pain, you know they are coming but not what time. #2 daughter is in Bar Harbor, Maine for a week and it has rained every day. Hope she is eating lobster everyday. Martha, thanks for the boot tray suggestion. Will wait until it’s less humid and can wick plants on the balcony using tray to catch soil. I have a new recipe for beef stroganoff hanging on the fridge. I ration pasta, just had spaghetti and meat balls last week so will wait another week. I don’t like sour cream in stroganoff so is it still stroganoff. Lol Used Crack Chicken Marinade recipe for chicken tenders in the air fryer last night. It’s a keeper. Usual household chores today. Shelia, I just got another batch of Covid tests from the post office. I ordered on line but check with your local post office to see if you can get them quickly. Be safe

Anita, are you doing ok after your COVID episode?

I have no cell service or internet in Kodachrome SP, so I am in town doing some important things, like checking the weather and answering emails!! Am considering changing my plans, also. All is well, otherwise, so this is quick posting.

Shirl I sure wish you would get a break for the awful weather you have been having for way to long. Barbie I know you must be suffering with the heat with that type of humidity. Stay safe.

I've been wondering about Anita, I watched Virgin River and wondered how she liked it.

Not much going on here today except frustration with my computer and the companies that keep changing their systems. Pippa surprised me awhile ago by alerting me my cell phone was ringing in the other room! She usually barks when the home phone rings but today she came running to me with little barks and then ran back toward my phone. I turn it down at night when I listen to books and usually forget to turn it back up.

Did a haircut in the park earlier today. Now just chillin' with Romeow. I have a whole list of things to do but not feeling very motivated yet. :?

The storms were all east of here yesterday and so far clear blue skies again today. Less dust in the air as well. I can see some thunderheads over the mountains by Joshua Tree NP. They have gotten a lot of rain over there the past several weeks.

Yeah, where is Anita? Haven't seen her on here for a bit.

Martha, did you get a lot of rain your way? Saw a lot of flooding I think it was in Alabama?

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I have received an inch and a half of rain since Sunday. That's on top of the inch and a half I got last week and I don't remember how much before that. Everything is so wet and soggy. Yesterday it was flooding in Mississippi. It might have moved to Alabama today. At least the ponds have filled back up so the fish are probably glad to have fresh water.

BJ, dogs are funny. Sugar can tell if it's me coming up the steps or someone else. The cats can tell too. I don't know if she can smell them or the sound is different. Our walks have turned into crawfish hunts. She found one tonight and ate it. I have to fight with her to keep her from digging in the neighbor's yard.

There is nothing I want to watch on TV. I wish the plumbers would hurry up and come so I can do something besides sitting at home.

before I forget I'd actually thought of a home test but you have to have proof of the results them being e-mailed to your phone type of proof....
Barbie that was awful about the freeway in Blythe... I really think though that diverting them up to Parker and down to the freeway in Q would have been closer than going down to I-8 by Yuma... but then I'm not CHP
I think I need to call my friend that lives in Q full time and see how she is doing... looks like they really got hit badly
went to the store... came home and made soup pretty good but forgot the milk to make it creamy... wondered why it looked different so in the left overs that we will have I added 1/2 &1/2 the rest will send over to my nieces her husband was even here and I totally forgot about it...
two rows on my crocheted afghan good news dd won't be here till labor day weekend have a chance of getting it fixed... we will hope...
I wish those storms would even out and everyone would get their share.. a bit cool the door is open could go close it but assume that mom must be comfortable as she hasn't gotten up to shut it... that is her job
just remembered that I haven't gotten anything out of the fridge for supper tomorrow tempted to find so hot dogs and have some chili dogs so I can get rid of the chili. it was going to be a day at home but the post office parking was full and I need to get the mail and dd want's pictures of the new floor.... so guess I go take pictures and go to the post office... I wish I could think of the name of that stuff that I used I'd go to Ace's and get some...
BJ you might be able to train Pippa to help
want to play a game really quick you all have a great day

Judy, Kodachrome SP is on my short list for a day trip with Ginger. Unfortunately you'll be gone before we could make it, I'd it happens.

BJ, I love that Pippa alerted you to the phone. How smart they can be. I bring the office doorbell in the rig after hours. Ty would alert me if that goes off when I'm sleeping.

It's after midnight and I'll be lucky for 6 hours sleep now so off I go. Night all.
