Saturday May 21

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday May 21

Morning All, going to be another hot humid day and chance of severe weather. Concerned about weather conditions everywhere. A storm moved north yesterday so hope Cheryl was hunkered down somewhere safe. Sharon, you too. Guess this weekend is the start of stay at home weekends because of traffic. I spend a lot of time searching for another apartment closer to family and away from traffic but there is nothing available. Received a flyer that a company will be coming to clean outside dryer vents and might need clear access to tenants dryers and or balcony mechanical room. Think I am in trouble because there are a lot of flower pots out there.Sheila I have given it a lot of thought and if I eat a banana split it will be ice cream and not yogurt. Lol
Be safe.

Good afternoon Shirl and all!

Shirl, we've had storms here the last couple days and the first one we lost our power for a couple hours. So we went into the motorhome, turned on the generator and a/c and watched TV till we got our power back. I've been thinking about Sue and the folks in Gaylord.

I just finished practicing for tomorrow's service which is on my Saturday to-do list every week. Since we had a mid morning brunch, we'll have a light dinner this evening.

Enjoy your day and be safe.

Good afternoon! Not sure where the morning went or for that matter that it’s already Saturday! Shirl, we had rain yesterday but nothing like was possible! And fortunately we didn’t get the high winds plus the temps were in the low 70’s and not the mid 80’s predicted. Winds are more today but at least in the 80’s. Yesterday I did go car shopping and think I want to stay with Subaru. Not sure yet what year etc until I hear back from the insurance company, don’t expect that until sometime next week….if I’m lucky! Sue, I saw some video of the town from the tornado the other day and saw that you were at least okay so good news there. I think the yard has dried out enough that I can get out and mow so hope to at least accomplish that today. Feeling okay as long as I don’t push my back to much. Admittedly it’s more sensitive and I hate it. I have lots of things to do and this is making it more difficult. But at least I’m walking and talking! Okay, rest time is over so I need to get back outside! Have a good day and stay safe .

No ladies~~~
Just popping in since I saw that Shirl was curious about the storm here in Eastern PA yesterday.

It was a nice morning, so the friend that I came to see and I walked along a Creek art park in the morning. Then stopped for a quick bite to eat around Easton.

The drive back to the CG was when wave #2 hit, so US-22 was horrible, but it has been evertime I'm on it. Got back to the CG just in time to take Punkin for a walk before wave #3 hit.

It definately poured, but no thunder that I heard, and Punk didn't seem upset when I got back.

Thanks for asking!

Another 80% chance of thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon now. If it's the same, we'll be ok.

I am worn out!!! Did three loads of laundry yesterday. Today, I cleaned out refrigerator and freezer and tossed some stuff and took rest to DIL, also put some cheese and a few things in their basement refrigerator. Then I picked up a prescription and headed back to campground, where I flushed out black tank and added clorox, plus water to my fresh water tank. (I need to remember to go out before dark and fill a jug with drinking water.) Finally, defrosted refrigerator, but still need to do freezer tonight. Also scrubbed shelves and walls inside refrig so I will have a nice clean refrigerator and freezer to put new food in when I get back!

I zipped my suitcase shut, so now all I have to do is put laptop and cords into carryone computer case. Got everything else packed, which is mostly 8 weeks of pills--two extra weeks in case I get covid. Also added inhalers of various kinds and other junk, plus a ton of masks. I think I will be OK, however.

Head out early tomorrow to make sure I can get into storage yard and get parked. Son will pick me up at noon and take me to airport, and then I can relax!! Maybe.

I am guessing Sue is out of power in Gaylord, by the way. Also possible cell towers and internet are down.

I thought today was Friday, I am not sure why but still doesnt feel like Saturday tonight LOL

Judy have fun on your trip will be looking at your blog for sure. Most of you gals are getting some rain and I am happy to say we had sunshine today and 68 after a chilly 37 this morning. Think it is going to be safe to plant this week. Liz has quite the garden going there. Her raspberries and blueberries looked so good. I got nothing planted yet so I better get on the stick...

Watched a couple of shows on tv today talking about the possible upcoming recession. They were giving tips on how to prepare. 1. Have an emergency fund for at least 3 months of wages, more if possible 2. Pay off or down high interest credit cards if possible. 3. Stock up. Food is going to dramatically increase over the summer. Due to Covid, Gas, Wheat, etc 4. Do not make any large purchases avoid taking on any more debt if you dont have to. 5. The stock market has now declined for 8 weeks in a row.
They say there is an 81% chance of a recession. Kind of scary I think.

Good info, Karen. I've been totally debt free since I went full-time in 2005. It's made a ton of difference for me. I do have a couple credit cards and use them for almost all purchases. One gives me 5% off on all my gas purchases. I guarantee I use it every time. My Amazon card gets used for most other purchases and every month I use the points on something I need from Amazon. That's a win win, also. Both those cards are paid in full every month automatically.

Judy, I, too, am looking forward to your travels. And I'm loving everyone's plants and veggies, etc.

I'm hoping that Sue gets power soon and can report first hand on the state of affairs there.

Judy, sounds like you have a hectic night ahead of you. Coming home to a clean fridge will be nice though. Yes, you'll get to relax when you get to the airport. What's done is done at that point. That's actually why I like to get to the airport super-early. Take care & enjoy!!!!!!

Cheryl, glad the storms weren't that bad where you were. Wish you could send some of that rain out west.

Not much happening here - just adjusting to not having to study so doing little things around the condo.

Hope everyone stays safe.
Take care,

My meetup meal was in a town 10 miles North of Lafayette which made it about 40 miles for me. I was afraid I was going to be late because I usually get lost in that area. For once my phone cooperated and gave me directions. We were going to a very popular restaurant and there was a line by the time they opened at 11:00. I had a chicken fried ribeye, twice baked potato and green beans. It was very good and I brought half of it home. I usually order chicken fried steak when I eat at Cracker Barrel. Their steak seems to be getting smaller and smaller.

Our rain got here about 8:00 and stormed for about 15 minutes. This rain came from the East. We are suppose to have a lot more coming from the Northwest about 5:00 in the morning.

Judy, hope your departure goes smoothly.

I was on my way to work this morning when my low fuel light came on! Stopped at the next gas station and filled my tank... $98.50!!!! :o  What a shock that was! Yikes! ;) I can't imagine how much it costs for those with diesel pusher RV's! I have also definitely noticed the increase at the grocery stores! Luckily, I am pretty much debt free. Just one CC with a couple hundred dollars on it. I heard that our HOA dues are going up but I don't know how much.

Was a busy day at work in the morning. We only do perms on Saturdays when there are 3 of us working so we always have 2 stylists available for haircuts. And we will only schedule one perm each Saturday. Somehow we ended up with 2 perms this morning and since I can't do them, the other two stylists got them. So I was doing lots of haircuts all morning! It got pretty quiet after lunch tho.

Was hot and breezy today but nothing like yesterday! I guess I shouldn't complain tho. At least we don't have tornadoes to deal with. The dust storms are just annoying!

I have a couple of cat-sitting jobs this summer here in the park. That will give me a little extra money and get more cat lovin' fixes! :D

Got my haircut today, just needed to get some areas thinned out. Still trying to grow it longer tho. I really need to frost it soon! Most of the frosting is cut off now and it is too dark. And I can see my little spot of gray hairs!

Have a good night and stay safe! Judy, have a safe flight. Will be looking forward to hearing about your adventures!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Rv and credit cards are paid off though I will be charging a lot in Uk. Heading to Napa slowly in July and august. Then was going to head to Washington and Oregon and then to Las Vegas but might skip Washington and Oregon and spend that two months in a couple of COE. Campgrounds in Ca and then just head to LV to save gas. Will still go to LV for November and part of December.

Also because of my age I have to withdraw a specific amount each year from 401k and I did that a month ago just in case of recession. Don’t need money right now so that will be my emergency fund!!!

If anyone hears from Sue please let us all know!!
