Mornin' ladies~~~

Decided to stay in place here in Somerset, PA for another day due to thunderstorms and chance of tornadoes near the I-95 corridor. OK by me! I can sit inside and stare at the rain instead of driving.

Anita your bday pics looked like so much fun! I'm guessing the wet suits were inside out so you kind of roll them up your body. And Happy birthday! I must have missed it.

So a sit around kind of day for me. Hope you ladies will be doing something more interesting.

Good morning Everybody.
Wise decision Cheryl,to stay put and watch the rain instead of driving.

I must have missed the photo of Anita in the wet suit!!! Where is it posted?

Judy, good luck with your upcoming trip to England. My body doesn’t like being in one position for hours at a time. Am thinking to give up the window seat for an aisle seat.
Enjoy today. Peggy

Morning All, guess what it’s raining. Lol Cheryl, wise decision. I’m waiting for severe storm and possible tornado. Moved plants away from the balcony railing and took trash to the dumpster. I bought a scrub vest with large pockets. I no longer have to dress completely to get mail or empty trash. The vest hangs on the back of a bar stool ready to grab and run outside with keys and cell phone in pockets. Humidity is 99% again so ac is on and used the inhaler to go outside. Half the time I don’t know whether to s&$#% or wind my watch. Last year I worried the balcony plants would get too dry. Now I worry they will get root rot. Making a batch of chili today so will have 5 taco salad dinners. Anita, ask Beth to post your rafting picture. Show me yours and I will show you mine. Lol Need to find my sweater, it’s cold in here. Hope the dehumidifier gets delivered tomorrow. Be safe

Good Morning, it is overcast this morning, however, sun supposed to come out. Am hoping it will before I swim.
Judy, I am hoping your trip goes well for you. Are you going to eat The Queens Jubilee pudding?
My daughter is still testing positive, although she feels good. Has never been “sick”.
I am reading Jodi Picoult’s latest book. For the first half I didn’t care for it. Now that I am halfway finished, it is becoming very good.

Good morning. I’ve been watching this weather today and looks like Cheryl would have been driving right in the middle of it. We had a break and I unhooked Lola and moved her to the front part of the driveway so I can just jump in and head to the garage. Annual inspection time but luckily the garage is just on the edge of town so only a couple of miles or so. We just finished round one of this storm and more to come later. Wind, thunder and lightning this round. I can do without the hail and so far doesn’t look like we’re getting the worst of it. I didn’t get much done this weekend and the aches started easing by last night. My mind was willing but the body said no way! So today will be an inside catch up day when I get back from the garage. I did manage to get the little air unit in my bedroom window yesterday and I sure enjoyed sleeping in the cooler temps. Don’t need it all the time yet but when we get a sunny day my upstairs gets hot from the western sun. And I have blackout curtains in my bedroom! Guess I should pull something out of the freezer for dinner but not sure yet what I’ll want! To early to think to hard about it! I found a box of shrimp scampi at Sam’s awhile ago and it’s really good. And easy to prepare…7-9 minutes on the stove and I was surprised how easy and good it was! I’ll definitely get it again. Box has 2 1 lb. bags so it’ll last awhile. I caught the early part of the eclipse last night but didn’t watch the whole thing. I must have missed Anita’s photos too! Exciting though for you, Anita! Guess I’d better get ready to head to the garage in the next few minutes! Hope you all have a wonderful day and stay safe.

Good morning!

I forgot to send photos to Beth and will do that before I hit the road today. Cheryl, the suits were inside out because they had washed them.

In the photos my grandson and his wife are in front. Daughter and son-in-law are on either side of me though I don't think you can see him.

Judy, have a wonderful trip!

Good morning. Cloudy out but supposed to warm up to 67 and sun so we shall see. I dug around in my freezer checking dates and what I need to use up soon. Put some pork country ribs in the crockpot planning to make pulled pork sandwiches tonight. Will make some potato salad to go with them. Shirl the humidity outside is very different from in my house. With the heat on it is very dry. Since I have such a dry cough still when I wake up decided I would try this. Also been using my nebulizer with just normal saline in it. Seems to help so far. I feel good but am still bothered at times by my cough. Wishing that dang thing would go away even tho it is much better that before.

Going to Furminate the dog today as it should be warm enough to do it outside. And no wind so will be easy to contain the fur LOL Might wander over to Lowes or Home Depot and see what their selections look like in the garden area.

Sharon I buy Tempura shrimp and Orange chicken at Costco and it is really good. Also comes in 1lb bags with 2 sauces, one for each bag and it is plenty. I just make up some rice to go with it and it is super good. Also bought some vegetable spring rolls and cook them in my Air Fryer also good. Making myself hungry so think it is time for breakfast.

Morning all. I was watching for Anita's pictures (and Anne mentioned sending some I haven't received). Anita did good with today's reminder and hers are posted in the general room now. :)

Smith's in Cedar City carries some Home Chef meals so I purchased a few and am eating a breakfast one right now. It's pretty tasty and no work. I bought a couple lunch or dinner ones to try also. I still have meals I've prepared in the freezer. And I made the simple potato soup the other day. With my hours etc, simple is a must. As is tasty and not filled with junk.

We are having a perfect day for which I am grateful!! Karen I had to laugh at your comment that you are 'Going to Furminate the dog today' it took me a minute to remember that is a type of brush!
I need to look at the meals everyone talks about. I am really tired of eating the same things. The Deli at the Coop used to have a good variety but since Covid between shortages and turnover in kitchen staff it isn't that good. Plus on Monday and Tuesday almost all of the places we get carry out are closed.
DH had his second booster this morning and he said he didn't feel a thing. I hope I get the same person when I get mine. So far he feels fine. I actually got a lot of papers moved off of my desk this morning and filed away. I think I deserve a reward. For some reason I have let it go since January. I keep an Excel spreadsheet with all our expenses each month so I have a good record at the end of the year. My next intention is to go through my file cabinet and toss as much as possible. Will wait on my next burst of energy.

You all can send some rain here for a change. Last year all I did was try to mow between the rain and this year it's really dry. The weather guys were hinting about a storm in the Gulf in a couple of weeks. I guess when the rain and hurricanes start we will get plenty. It's 92. I went out a couple of times last night to see the moon but missed the red part.

The parish is mowing the ditches. I'm glad because Sugar wants to mess around in the ditch and I'm afraid she will find a snake. A road grader passed this morning. The road is blacktop all the way to the river but there is a side gravel road.

I called Sugar's prescription in to Walmart but they have to order it. I was going to go to Walmart after lunch but that's out. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow so hope they get it in by tomorrow. I might make it by Sam's tomorrow and look for the Shrimp Scampi. I wanted to fill up at Sam's when I came through yesterday but my card is expired and I didn't feel like going inside to renew it. I went to Walmart in Abbeville and got gas. I want to keep the motorhome full this time of year. If they just say hurricane we will be out of gas. I am down to the last gas can for the mower so those need to be filled up too.

I washed a load of jeans this morning and threw one of my jackets in so I could put it away. I don't think I'll need a jacket for a few months.

Wait a minute, Shirl. Are you going outside with just a scrub vest on??? Sounds a little risque to me!

I am packed but have been repacking. I woke up at 11 am this morning with a brilliant idea--put all the camera stuff in one small bag instead of having the batteries, charger, cord, etc spread around in several places. Duh. So I unpacked everything, wrote the words "Camera & Charger" on a little orange nylon packing bag I have. And Tina, two of the shirts I am taking and all of my underwear are old throwaways. One of my problems is that last time I was in the UK, I had severe problems with ISB so I ended up losing 20 pounds in 40 days, and my pants kept falling off--literally. (I was avoiding eating and walking miles each day, especially in London.) This time I have new medication so should not have quite so much of a problem, but I did pack one pair of pants and one pair of shorts that are a little smaller. All are just thin cotton. And the weather looks amazingly decent next week in London with highs in upper 60s and just a bit of rain. I am leaving a couple of weeks earlier than last time when I had to bundle up there.

If you ever go to the UK or Ireland, it is important to remember that days are very long in May and June, but very short in October, which is when I went to Scotland several years ago. Next week, sun in London rises at 5 am and sets at 9 pm. In Edinburgh, it rises a little before 5 am and sets at 9:30 pm. In June, days are even longer.

I have done this trip before, so I know what to expect. I think my kids are worried about my driving on the wrong side, but I have done it several times before. You just have to really focus and plan your turns so you end up in the right lane going the right way! Freeways are easy because you just follow the cars in front of you, and small towns have little traffic. Love the little country roads and the one-lane roads! Hardest parts are parking lots, believe it or not, because I forget what side to go on when driving around other vehicles. Parking is a little tricky for me anyway because I have not been driving cars for so long.

Waiting for severe weather to pass me by. Made a quick air fryer fish and chips before the weather. Sharon, added shrimp scampi to my Sam’s list, thanks. Judy I will do anything for attention, polka dots, wild socks, purple cane and half naked 85 yr old emptying trash. Anita, safe travels. Cheryl, stay safe.

I looked up the Jubilee Pudding and decided it looked like a whole lot of work, but if someone serves me some, I will eat it. One thing I did learn to love in past trips was Victoria Sponge. It is a basic sponge cake with a filling of whipping cream and jam. Yum. I promise to take more photos of food this trip. Surprisingly, the UK has some great food, and when you get up to Scotland and Orkney, it gets even better because they have fantastic beef and some of the best seafood anywhere--scallops, crab, even lobster because it is in the North Sea.

went to a nursery today and yes I came away with plants just a few though... just pansy's have a spot that I believe they will look good in although I'll have to admit that I bet I will wish I'd gotten more had forgotten that I wanted to look for some prim roses forgot and then I have a feeling I will wish I had some trailer's.... not the way it's spelled though I'm sure
have a safe trip Anita...
my nephew got a new truck they are both tall so for them it works but I couldn't even crawl in with the help of a running board had to use a step stool as well so glad that they had it ... and when we got to the nursery I slid out really thinking it would be ok... not so knew better when I got back to mom's out came the step stool... had one thing I've wished my truck had and that was the mirrors that you can make them come in to window that way you won't have issues if the area going through is narrow...
was warm yesterday and warmer today... looked at the temp about 6:30 or later... when mom came to ask me if I was going to leave the plants on the deck or put them in the garage... it was still 66 I think looked at the app and it wasn't going to go lower that like 42 or so... so tomorrow guess I will have to plant some pansy's :D it's too early to plant the other planters as I will use plants that need the higher heat... still want to order some plants from Brecks will see if that happens... anyone every planted Freeses... I am not sure how they are spelled a bulb plant very fragrant from what I understand...
usually go to bedroom now but Murder She Wrote is continued and so far haven't played a game either... don't know why I'm so late today in everything...
need to figure out what to fix for supper... we are two hours away from Costco so getting frozen foods are not the best thing to get but they all sounded good...
you all have a great day

Was a slow day at work. Now that the snowbirds are gone, it has gotten very quiet out here all over.

There is a large older RV that has been parked in the WalMart parking lot for almost a month now. I asked a WM employee (greeter) about it today. She said that the owner is paying rent to WM to park it there for awhile. I have never heard of that before. Obviously no one is living in it since it hasn't moved for almost 4 weeks and has no hookups or solar. I was just concerned that no one was checking on it to see if someone had died in there or something! :o

Tonight the winds are whipping good around here! Yay! More dirt and dust! I have my favorite willow tree out back (the one I have to protect from getting chopped up every year by the landscape guys) but there is one small branch that is right over my porch and when the wind blows it bang on the roof. I need to find out who to contact to trim that branch (and ONLY that branch!) for me. My neighbor lady said that there was a nest of Roadrunners in the tree and the babies finally flew out last week. I know there have been Mourning Doves nesting in it before.

Last night, I didn't get to sleep until after 3am and had to get up at 7:30 this morning. I guess that is what happens when you sleep 12 hours the night before! :( Hopefully, I will sleep better tonight.

To those traveling, stay safe and have fun!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
