HAPPY EASTER

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

HAPPY EASTER

Postby Shirlv » Sun Apr 17, 2022 7:42 am

Morning All, sunny, windy and cooler. Had an unexpected t-storm last night. Hope it washed all the heavy pollen off the Subaru. The tulips look a little ragged. Moe and Floe sang a little song then flew away. I think they were checking to see if I made it through the night. A nice start to the day. A little house straightening and need to find something nice to wear for dinner. Afraid my nice clothes will dry rot just hanging in the closet. Wishing all a peaceful day. Be safe

Happy Easter Shirl and all. Just finished an Easter breakfast of French toast, sausage and pure Maple syrup. Bread was compliments of my church. They had a local bakery about 25 miles away, bake enough loaves of bread for all the families in the church to have a loaf. Those of us at the Easter Vigil got ours last night. So good.

Heading out for Easter brunch with friends and neighbors later. Have a Blessed Easter Dsy everyone.

I went to Walmart and got Sugar's pills. I was surprised at how many people were out on an Easter Sunday. Walmart was the usually crazy place. Judy, I think they are on to us with the chuck eye steaks. Chuck eye at Walmart today is $10.98 and rib eye steak is $11.98. If I see chuck eye in the $5 to $6 price range I put some in the freezer.

I talked to my son and he is happy he got out of going to Baton Rouge. He said he was having a ham sandwich. I had a frozen dinner.

My S-I-L sent me a picture of my brother out with his snow blower. I'm glad I live in the South, it's 83 today. It's still a little breeze. I wish it would calm down so I can spray the fence line and the ditch.

I managed to only buy one bag of the robin egg candy this year. A bag of them doesn't make the day.

Happy Easter!

I am still lounging in bed at noon, altho I did get dressed.

I have a half a ham sandwich in the fridge from yesterdays lunch that I was gonna have as my Easter meal but someone here on our FB page was offering leftovers to whomever wanted a plate so I volunteered. They just dropped it off! Ham, potatoes, roll, etc. They are the same couple who did that 2 years ago and brought me a basket of food and goodies then. So nice of them!

I really need to do my laundry today. I am totally out of clean pants and tops for work! :o

I must have allergies to something around here unless it is just all the dust in the air. My eyes are always itchy and watery lately. The cut on my thumb is healing pretty good now. Will still wear a bandaide on it during the day so it doesn't get dirt/germs in it.

Sunny, 80's and a light breeze here today! Hope you all have a good, relaxing day!

Happy Easter everyone!

We had a beautiful service in church this morning and the church was almost packed. It was so nice seeing so many people there.

We just got back from an Easter celebration in the club house where everyone brought a covered dish. It was good.

Barbie, when you mentioned the praying mantis, of which we have lots in MD, it never occurred to me that I have never seen any in FL. Thank you for moving the one you found.

One of our friends in the resort left here this morning to go home for the summer in NC and asked us if we'd like to take care of their golf cart and keep it charged for them while they're gone. Since we had lots of things to take to the clubhouse for the Easter gathering, we used it instead of walking. But where our lot is in regards to the clubhouse, we really don't need a golf cart, but I can see why others might like one, rather than use their car or truck.

Stay safe.

I too am having a lazy afternoon now. Took a shower then did a few things around the house. Need to go grocery shopping but NOT today. I didnt go before I went down south for my doc appts so tomorrow I will head out. I also need to get gas to maybe it will go down tomorrow after the holiday.

This day 5 years ago is Emma's "Gotcha Day". I had to drive from Medford to Sacramento airport to pick her up. She left O'Hare and arrived on time in Sac. Was a non=stop flight. She was so darn small, I was expecting a little bit bigger dog LOL After signing the cargo papers for her, texting my breeder, she pottied and I put the harness on her but had to stop and buy a smaller (much smaller) one at the pet store. She snuggled down in her carseat and went to sleep. UNTIL I stopped for gas. I got out to pump (I'm not yet in Oregon where they pump for you) and there was such a ruckus, whining, crying OMG I thought she was strangling herself. I open the door to massive tail wagging....the little turd. Well she had never been alone yet. Her littermates were gone, he Mom was missing, I was just glad to get back on the road. We got home and she settled in just fine until bedtime. Oh boy....there was some carrying on that night. But after a couple of weeks we were down to about 5 minutes. After her crate was dry for a week I let her come into my bed and that was the happiest day of her life and still is.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter.

I pretty much did nothing today except make some beef soup for dinner. Had cereal for lunch. Emma was at a dog show so rather quite around the house. I didn't go anywhere all day, I watched church on Zoom. The minister had been on a six month sabbatical and appeared to have definitely benefited from it.

Happy Gotcha Day Emma and Karen. She knew she had found her real Mom and wasn't going to let you out of her sight. It is hard to believe she is five!! I know what you mean about being tiny, Pippa weighed 2.5 pounds when we got her.

Martha I'm with you I have a hard time finding anything to watch on TV. I end up watching Shark Tank or reruns of Mom, NCIS or Law and Order. I do like the new season of Call the Mid Wife and reruns of As Time Goes By with Judith Dench on the PBS stations. I seem to spend more time reading books on Kindle on my phone than watching TV.

It has been chilly and raining off and on all day with possible freezing temps by morning but in the 80s at the end of the week.

They are taking on 60 Minutes about making something called eVtols that are a lot like the people in the Jetson's cartoon used to fly around in.

Yay Emma on your gotcha day... You got the perfect mom for you.

Only 3 check-ins for the motel today and I'm still waiting on one. Then I'm mainly off tomorrow. But it'll be the first time one of the housekeepers works the office part of the day so I'll stay close during those hours, just in case. I probably shouldn't sleep in but will not set the alarm.

I was walking up the sidewalk to go into the church when I saw some kids going around the corner looking at the other part of the church and coming back in the doors I was heading for looked to see why and there was a moose laying up against the building.... went into the chapel and sat down and people where going up and opening up the door and looking out at the moose... really began to wonder at the health of the moose and the people looking at it  they can be temperamental in their best moods  saw on FB where a friend posted that she happened to see 399 and her quads guess they have just left their den... makes one wonder how big that den would have to be to accommodate 5 bears... :o it would be good if she remained up in Yellowstone but she is used to roaming around here and she will be back down... it's the year she sends the cubs away I don't know how long into the summer before she does... she is pretty old so don't know if she will have another brood or not.... she is a good mom
made scalloped potatoes today didn't make rolls and wish I'd gotten ham steak instead of a ham not sure what to do with it.... nephew and his family is coming to supper next week as they are in CA right now not sure if it would be good in fridge that long... and the freezer is full guess I could look at the ice cream that has over wintered and see if it's still good if not get rid of some of that and create more room...
made what is called Harvard Beets... forgot how well I like them
Happy Easter to each and everyone of you
you all have a great day
