HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY, Not going to be doing the jig outside in the rain and fog. Daughter said all jugs have little green sprouts so I am glad for the rain today. Beth and Sheila thanks for thinking of me and I have watched the link you suggested. I’m not on Facebook. Spend all my time watching YouTube gardening. Lol The floor of the balcony is planks. I try very hard not to drop soil down on neighbors below so would be leery of bags. I have accumulated a number of pots. Thought about an outdoor carpet but don’t know what it would do to the floor over time. You are limited when you do not own the property. I’m also limited in space, need to save a path for maintenance to get to the mechanic closet. By Mother’s Day the lettuce should be gone and I will plant a Juliet tomato plant. Will be more aggressive in controlling the sassy girls growth. Lol
Going to go to the Dollar Tree looking for solar lights. I’m not sugar so won’t melt. Be safe

Good morning to All - it is starting out to be another nice, but windy day here in Vegas. Yesterday was perfect until the wind picked up - gusts over 40. Glad we didn't have to go any where. I put in another order to WalMart, made sure I poked the Delivery button - so will get it this morning around 8. But three of the items I wanted will not be delivered, they will be shipped to me via FedEx - what the heck. One I will get today the other two by tomorrow sometime. And I will get the lasagna noodles - didn't remember to take them off the order. We went to Albertson's for some produce and the had lots of noodles - so got some there. So not I will have lots of them. Also bought some Beyond Meat ground ?plants? sounds terrible doesn't it. Will try it and see.
I know what you mean about being behind someone with the baby items - that takes forever. And I too get more impatient then I used to. And Bill starts muttering under his breath. The other day we got in a line behind a really really new checker checking out a large order. Took for ever, and we had already unloaded. I started waving off people behind us. The poor checker was getting more and more flustered and making more and more mistakes.
Barbie the gourd is beautiful. I can relate to the ladies comment about losing a son.
I went with the walking group yesterday and ended up with over 10,000 steps for the day, but am paying for it today. Years ago I sprained an ankle and broke the long outer bone in my foot. Well between all the unloading etc and the long walk yesterday - today it is very unhappy with me. And both of my arch supports are still in the RV. Going to have to go get them sometime today.
A couple of years ago it wouldn't bother me so much. Times like this when I kind of feel my age.

Am still in bed catching up on FB and here. I was moved to tears again this morning by many more very touching and heartfelt comments on the FB gourd page. There are almost 500 likes and over 100 comments. The idea of Wabi Sabi is something that hit home with me too, as I am learning to heal and appreciate my "broken" places thru the years. It also reminds me to not be such a perfectionist with everything I do.

I need to get up here and start organizing my sale stuff. Need to go pick up the tables across the street from my neighbor first. Then start pricing things. Also gotta remember to get to the bank for cash. Maybe I should do that first so I don't forget.

The St Patty's golf cart parade starts at 1 and the dance is at 3. They usually have food and goodies but you have to bring your own this year if you want any. They are providing beverages tho. I am sure the "adult" beverages will be flowing by noon!

Will be in the mid 80's today with no wind, and, of course, sunny. :D The breeze felt good yesterday tho with the heat.

Enjoy your day!

Hot and muggy here at Midway Campground, and while the limestone ground has not absorbed the rain from yesterday, it is a beautiful day here. Met a young couple from Germany yesterday who was traveling across the eastern U.S. and Florida, sleeping in their car. (Obviously, recent college graduates, right?) Anyway, we chatted quite a while outside and not a mosquito to be seen. Then I made a serious mistake!

It was about an hour before dusk, so I went inside my motorhome to cook (reheat) something to eat. Except as it got dark, I kept noticing more inside mosquitos--very strange. In fact, I had trouble sleeping, so got up a couple of times to swat them with my handheld electric zapper. Finally, about 6 am, I decided to check all the windows. I had not really opened any, but sometimes I lean my elbow on the armrest when I am backing in, and sure enough, my driver's side window was open about an inch!! This is the same thing that happened about a month ago when the little tree frog hopped in and I found him/her climbing the wall in my bedroom!!!!! I really, really need to check this when I am done parking. Anyway, I started my engine and put the window up then spent half an hour walking around inside to catch any mosquitos I found.

Did dishes from yesterday and today, and fixed myself a good breakfast, so now reading my news online and soon will go out for a walk around the pond and maybe across the road to see what it in the "borrow ditch." (This is the ditch that was dug almost 100 years ago to make the roadway, and it is almost always full of birds and a couple of alligators.) It is only 87 out, but with 90% humidity, so AC is running and ran off and on all night.

I wanted to be sure my propane gets filled before I leave. So I called the propane company this morning to see if they'd be out yet this week or Monday. Otherwise I'd plan to stop and get filled. They told me they'd come tomorrow. So walking Ty just now I told the mgr and got put in my place. I'm not allowed to call... I have to call the mgrs or owners and they will call. Ok lol. I know they don't like when people call a different propane company, but thought calling the preferred one to get the day they'd be here was ok.

It was supposed to hit 90 here today but I think we topped out in the upper 80's. Cloudy till mid afternoon when the sun took over. The clouds and wind didn't feel hot. Just now I was sweating the entire walk.

I've put bleach in my fresh water tank last two fills and will probably do so again before leaving so it sloshes around good. I'll bring some gallons of water for drinking purposes until I get through that tank and rinse it out.

Barbie, it's good to be reminded that I don't need to be a perfectionist all the time, too.

I think I'm far from a perfectionist. If I get something even half way done I'm doing good.

I brought Sugar to the LSU Vet School Clinic today to get some tests run on her. She would get so out of breath if she did anything. She has pulmonary hypertension. They think it can be controlled with medicine so she will be on 3 pills. I was afraid she has having heart failure. I'm sure it's from the heart worms she had when I took her. The clinic is in Baton Rouge and OMG I-10 is a nightmare. It took me 4 hours to go about 90 miles. Traffic would be flowing along and all of a sudden it would come to a complete stop. I hate to stop on the interstate. I would sit for a while and then traffic would creep and stop and creep and stop. Then it would start going again and in a few miles a complete stop again. I never did see what was causing it. I was hoping it would be better coming home but it was about the same. They want me to bring her back in 2 months.

I would like to be camping with my friends but it's not worth driving for 3 hours just for 2 days and there is bad weather coming through tonight. It is very windy here already. I'v had enough driving to last me for a while.

I can relate to the comments about losing a son too. I don't think you ever get over losing a child.

Busy day! Went to the bank after I got up, to get small bills for the sale. Stopped for breakfast and then home. I have a Coleman instant-up screen room I have had since I lived in MN. I put that up in front of the house. I am selling that, and am also using it to put all the free stuff I have in the sale.

Spent all day getting things cleaned up (from all the dust from the shed, porch, etc.) and price tagged. I already sold $45 worth of stuff from neighbors who were walking by while I was setting stuff up. I got signs ready to go and picked up some balloons to tie to them. The park provides maps highlighting all the lots that are having a sale but I like to advertise my sale better than that. I think I am the only one back in this corner of the park who is having a sale so I need to get people back here! Took a nice long shower afterward to get all the dust and what-not off me. :o

I met a nice couple from Canada who are renting a park model down the street from me. They just bought a park model behind me and will be moving in there next fall. A lot of renters end up buying here because they fall in love with the park while they are here.

I also met another new buyer just 2 lots down from me. He is single and will be living here year 'round. He is having his park model completely remodeled right now.

The St Patty's Day parade was good. Lots of golf carts in it and all very well decorated! I didn't go to the dance later because I was still getting things set up and I was all dirty and disheveled looking! By the time I got my shower done, the dance was over.

I feel like there is more of a mess in here than before I brought everything outside! I guess it is just because I brought things out of boxes, etc to go thru. Need to get it organized and put away again. I am selling a lot of bigger items so that should free up some space. My shed looks better but needs to be reorganized as well. Lots of wasted space in there right now.

I ordered black-out curtains for the windows in my porch to help keep some of the heat out this summer. I want to be able to work out there without dealing with the excessive heat. Got those today and they are a very pretty teal! I also ordered rods for them and will get it all put up when I get those. (Another project to add to the list! )

Lola pretty much stayed in my room all day because I was running in and out of the house and she wanted to stay out of my way. Later, she came out and was meowing at me very insistantly! She was very persistent until I finally figured out she wanted to go out on the porch and the door was closed! She likes to sit on the saucer chair in the sun out there. I think she is still out there tonight too. I need to get her in and get us both to bed soon! Gotta get up early in the morning since the sale starts at 8am and we all know people will be here just after 7am, and I still need to get some stuff repositioned (most is covered up under blankets for the night), and put out the signs and balloons!

Have a good night!
