Snowy Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snowy Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Mar 07, 2022 11:19 am

Good MidMorning to you all. Snowing and 29°. We needed some snow to cover up all that ice, but it’s really coming down, to the point where I think there’s at least 3 inches out there already. Supposed to get between 3-6 inches. Dogs are in their element. thry live a snowy day and want out to lay in it, till the get covered. I think it’s because Thty love getting toweled off when they come in

So it’s good day to putter with stuff in the house. Bit busy around here today, as I just finished giving my kitchen a spring cleaning, washing the walls and wiping down cabinets. I do my cabinets at least once a mont with Murphy’s Oil Soap do that was routine there. Something a friend said makes keeping kitchen cleaning to a minimum Wipe the cabinets when you normally clean the kitchen and keeps them clean and less work in the long run.so I started doing that years ago and it’s become routine. I only do walls once a year in there. Looks nice and clean and smells so good. That plus cleaning pbathroom were the chores for toddy. And the newbathroom flooring is being installed and Garage door Company is coming later to check my door, as the door opener system isn’t working right. May or may not blow snow later. Depends on when it quits.

Beth, I agree with you on the cable tie outs for dogs. I don’t like them either. They get easily tangled and can hurt a dog if a leg gets tangled up in it. I used 20 foot web leads to tie mine out in the campgrounds. Just wrapped one end around the picnic table bench it was next to my trailer. They had enough line to roam our campsite, go in and out of the trailer but not in neighbors site or road. I use a 6 foot web lead, clipped to a 4 foot one to walk them. That gives them 10 feet to walk and snoop along the road. I keep the excess coiled in my hand if they aren’t walking that far ahead.

Velda, glad you and Chris are getting better and stronger. Tina, hope no serious issues for you. How did the show go in the end?
Everybody else seems to be doing okay. We all lead such exciting lives

Tine to get off here and get lunch going. Thrm May e some Genealogy for awhile. Have a great day all.

The mower started like a champ and I got all my mowing done. I called the mower shop to get it tuned up for the season. Something needs to be adjusted because it is leaving skips and I'm sure it needs a new blade. I am forever running over something. They are picking it up sometime today so have to hang around until they show up. I was going to go pick up another load of trash but that will have to wait.

The temperature is up to 77 but the radar shows a thin strip of rain that will come through soon. Then our temperatures will start going down.

I have a charger on my battery. It's quickly getting charged. It's sprinkling out and my high for the day has happened and it'll be mid 50's this afternoon and that's all we'll have for a high tomorrow.

Sue, my sister got that pretty white stuff in Wisconsin, too.

Two weeks from today I start my journey back to Utah.

Sun is shining, it's 60° and a brisk but intermittent breeze is blowing. Going to shower, dress, then head to get battery in car. Other than stiff painful neck and shoulder from all the laying around, I feel pretty good today, so far. Have a good day everyone!

Today is laundry day. Last campground had no washers or dryers, so have at least two weeks of clothing to wash. There is one washing machine directly across from me, so as soon as I eat my late breakfast, I will head over there. Everything is sorted and ready to go--even have lots of quarters.

Snow is pretty, but I am glad it is nice and warm here. Only problem with this site is that it is very unlevel to the point where even with one tire on boards, the back end is about 4" lower than the front, so I have to be careful when I walk. And I had to push water from the shower into the drain last night.

Good news is that I got three days next week in a campground closer to Venice where I have to pick up some things at a law office for my aunt. And I will get to drive and bike around the Ding Darling bird area and maybe do some other exploring.

Good Morning, I also dislike those retractable dog leashes. I do like Daylight Savings Time.
Everyone thinking about future living arrangements is very smart.
We have a mountain about 4 hours north of us. Big Bear. Friends of Bald Eagles have put a camera on a tree facing a nest. I been spending time watching it. The female laid two eggs and one has hatched. The baby is so tiny. Both male and female take turns sitting on the nest.
I have seen the baby being fed. This. Is. A. Very time consuming activity.!!!

Lynn, a few years ago someone posted a site that had a camera showing bears fishing for salmon. I spent a lot of time just watching the bears. It doesn't take much to entertain us. lol

I got the two boxes of papers burned. Slow progress but will keep plugging away.

love to see pictures of the Bald Eagle so very majestic... it amazes me that they mate for life I think that there are a few other's that do as well was reading something other day and thought I didn't know that but now don't remember the bird and they didn't say they mate for life but for more than two seasons... so perhaps they have just started noticing it... Swans I think is another but then I maybe wrong
so enjoyed your pictures Sandi so glad you got to go..
is your mower a rider Martha? I kinda thought it might be if it had to be picked up...
unreal that your winter is almost at an end Beth... it went by way fast... do you know how far you will be from SLC? perhaps if I make it down during the summer we can meet somewhere in the middle... if you weren't so busy I'd say come up here see the Teton's in all it's glory..
my understanding is that they are going to have people at the ranches on Mormon Row telling about the sites there it will be interesting to go to and hear what they have to say...
Sue you are so organized one thing I am not I so procrastinate the carpet that needed to be vacuumed still needs to be but hay I got the guide line on the Swedish Weave and niece brought over her sewing machine.. I decided that so I'd have a straight row I needed a guide and then the stitching I put in hopefully what doesn't get covered with the zigzag I can pull out wouldn't worry about it except that the fringe goes up to that line so want it to be somewhat "clean"
and I spent a productive 1.5 hours visiting with a good friend via phone so glad that we got to visit...
it was a good day

I fell asleep on my bed about 6pm last night and woke up near 10. Was up for a bit and then went to bed. Was so tired from two long, busy days at work!

Didn't do a ton of stuff today. Did work on a gourd project for a little while. Can't make up my mind what I want to do with it tho. The wind was blowing so hard today that I didn't do any outdoor things on my list, including trying out my bike. :( I work tomorrow, so hopefully, Wednesday will be a calmer day for outdoor things.

Ate another strawberry from my new plant. There are quite a few tiny strawberries on it so am hoping I can get them to grow to full size and ripen nice and juicy like these were.

California is another state that voted several years ago to keep daylight savings year 'round. I heard it has to go thru congress or something for all the states that want it, to be able to make it happen.

That bald eagle photo is precious! I have watched that video cam in years past. Very cool to watch. They always seem to lose one of the chicks tho. Hopefully not this year tho.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

And the best Monday news to sneak in at midnight, is, I finally tested Negative for CoVid by use of a special test at Med7, which they said is designed only to detect Live virus, vs the Rapid or home tests which can show positive even if you only have dead fragments of virus remainng (which they said i probably do). They wanted to be absolutely sure I was CoVid free so can go back to Curves! Yay, back to Curves Wednesday!
Took car to Les Schwab and they tested battery, because it was still under warranty and said yes, it's toast, so I got back 8% towards the new battery! Now PT is good to go! productive day for my first day out and about.
