Monday the 21st

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday the 21st

Postby Bethers » Mon Feb 21, 2022 11:43 am

Yes, February only has one week left. Amazing how days can seem to drag but weeks and months just fly by. I'll be paying my last month's rent here this week. A month from now I'll start my journey back to Utah, starting with a 4 day stay at the beach in Port Aransas. That's where I really hope for good weather!

Nothing planned for today. 4 days in the mid-80's before temps drop again. Cloudy most of these days.

Sunny Monday

Postby Othersharon » Mon Feb 21, 2022 12:16 pm

Good morning. At least for a few more minutes! Sun is out and temperature is already up to 51! I’m going to enjoy it since it sounds like rain and later in the week another snow storm. Friends staying down in Myrtle Beach called me yesterday late in the day telling me they were making a quick trip back here. Apparently the winds blew the little shed type structure blew into a neighbors yard and the motorcycles were exposed to the elements. The plan was that maybe they would use my garage to store them but apparently they were able to secure the structure and continue to store them at their house. They plan to leave again Wednesday to finish their last month down there. That way they’ll avoid the bad storm and probably just deal with rain. I’m going to finish here and go at least have coffee with them this afternoon and drop my taxes off too. Furnace is working sinceI gave it the “gentle” tap with the hammer! It’s a temporary fix but at this point I’ll take it. It buys us some time to get into the warmer weather at least before we have to shut it off for further repairs. Shelia, hoping you can take to heart about you needing to stay warm too. Sue, looks like your snow is coming my way again! It’s making me happy to hear that I’m not the only one that stays up late at night and likes to sleep in in the morning. Of course Rascal often has other ideas of when I should be getting up and it’s usually earlier then I want to get out of bed! But naps are good too! So that’s about it for me today. I need to get going and finish up here and head out. Need to take advantage of the one day of sun and warmth! Hope you all have a great day.

It's up to 77 today. I think we have a chance of rain almost all week. For once I'm hoping that it rains here. I think I will have to turn the air conditioner on.

Beth, I ordered meals for 2 weeks but skipped the third week because I won't be home. I guess I'll hear from them later.

Martha, I've been skipping every other week and will skip a few weeks going to Utah. Very easy to do. Also, because I don't eat them everyday I freeze several of them to not worry about them going out of date.

Finally fixed my drawer pull today and also fixed the shower handle. I am a terrific procrastinator, and in order to force myself to do something, I put it out on the couch to keep reminding me. When I get to the point that I might want to actually sit on the couch, I have to do the task. (Except when i just move the stuff.) The shower handle had been loose for a while, so last night after my shower it completely fell off, which forced me to do that job before I leave tomorrow for Ortona South.

Got two bags to take to the dumpster. Only real problem with this and a few other campgrounds is that they put the dumpster a long walk away, so i have only been taking mine out every two days. I think they are trying to avoid attracting animals to campgrounds, or at least that is what I have been told lately.

Judy, that sounds just like me! I do the same thing!

Looong day!! I worked at another shop today. It was very busy all day long! I did 20 haircuts but made $95 in tips. :D Then I came home and did 2 more haircuts here. Got $60 for those.

Am very tired tonight so am going to bed early. My mom was always staying up late until 2 or 3 am reading and then sleeping late. I started getting into that habit when I was working later shifts at GC's for a long time. Then when I started working with the cannabis company, I had to get up at 5:30am, so that all changed in a hurry. Now I pretty much get to bed before midnight and wake up around 7am. Altho if I am not working, I will lay in bed playing on my laptop for a couple hours before getting up.

It has been extremely windy again today and tonight. The temps are going down as well, into the 60's for highs. I don't mind that at all but lots of people are complaining about it. It will be super hot soon enough, so I like the cooler temps.

Tomorrow, I have putters golf in the morning. Then am going to check with the wood carving group that meets on Tuesdays to find out where they are doing their dremel work to see if there is a better place for me to do carving instead of on my deck. Then I go out to lunch with the putters league ladies. After that, I am going to a birthday party of a man here turning 90. His daughter is the one I went up to Oak Glen last fall for the apple festival and he is also a customer of mine here, as is his son and his wife. I guess I should get him a card before I go.

So it will be a busy day. Not much time left over to do stuff around here. Will have to wait until Friday for that. Back to work tomorrow and Thursday. I need to do laundry but they just installed new washers and dryers with a new company and I guess they are all messed up and need to be fixed (prices on them, temps, time, etc  ) so I will wait until they get that all fixed this week sometime.

I got my fitness tracker I ordered so I will have to find time to play with that and try and figure out how it works.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sheila, I'll get to my job in Utah by April 1st and will be there until around Nov 1st (I'm hoping to be out sooner, but that's the latest).

It's almost 2 am and I'm going to head to bed.
