Light snow Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Light snow Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Feb 07, 2022 10:28 am

Morning all. Bit of light snow coming down, 23°And no wind. Guess there was a bit of freezing drizzle earlier. Not going anywhere anyway. Frontier Communications was here to mark their underground telephone line where it goes under my fence, so that’s done. Not using that line, but still need it marked. Now just need Spectrum for cable and Consumers for electric. At tbe same time he was marking my phone line, another truck was over marking a neighbor. Guess they need their lines done too. They just bought the house last fall.

Shirl, you crack me up. I can just picture you out at the trash bin in your Loungewear, but then these days anything goes I guess. My jammies or Lounge wear, are a pair of light athletic type pants and t-shirts. I’ve worn them to the showers at the park when I’m camping and back to my trailer rather than haul my clothes along. Sometimes even to the mailbox.

Sandi, nice to see you post. I see you joined the ranks of us RVless women  You can chime in with the mundane everyday stuff anytime you want. That’s mostly what we are doing now days. I won’t say my traveling days are over, but my RV days probably are. Barbie sorry you got lost driving around. Happens to all of us.

Finished painting the store room yesterday. Looks so much better. No more grungy, marks here and there white walls. Just need to put the stuff back on the shelves. As I said earlier, original owner finished the basement with drywall and just used the white primer, that was all, except for what is a 4th bedroom. That was painted. This house is almost 30 years old, so time for a facelift. Last owner had it 3 years, but other than repainting and adding some tile work on the shower walls in the bathroom I just had remodeled, nothing was changed. Now on to the next room. That’s a combined mechanicals/store room. Will have to buy some paint for that one probably. But first going to go through what’s in there and get stuff to donate out, advertise my spare RV extension power cord and Surge protector as it’s brand new, only used once. Had to replace the one that died last fall.

So guess I will head down and put the stuff back. Won’t take long and stsrt on the next room maybe. So have a nice day all.

Another dry, sunny day here in my part of northern California. Praying for rain soon. Will dress for Curves and go when Sean (Handyman) gets here. I'll work on last of pantry when back from Curves. It's Olympics here afternoon and evening, though I keep falling asleep later in evening. Mandy was awake when I woke and has had her breakfast and is waiting for sun to reach her favorite spot. Not anything else exciting here. Sure glad we didn't choose snow country for our after Navy long term living. I couldn't physically deal with it. Have a good week everyonr.

Afternoon All, it’s cloudy and 35°. Hot shower is the high point of my day. For a half an hour all my joints move smoothly. Lol Bed linens in the washer and soup out of the freezer for dinner. The trip to the dumpster in my lounge wear was uneventful since I didn’t see anyone. Wouldn’t have been a big deal since checked pants don’t stand out as much as the snowflake pants. Had a thought this morning about high humidity summer here. I live on an island so of course it will be more humid. Compared humidity levels here and daughters house, was 30 % less at her house. Sue, I miss Kmart and their basic sweat pants. I would love sweat pants and a tee shirt. Even clothing for mature women have yoga pants or stretchy material that show all my wrinkles. Washer has stopped so need to transfer to dryer. Man, this manual labor is hard. Lol. Becsafe

Sunshine here so snow/ice is melting but going to take awhile. The birds are really flocking to the places where the snow has melted off like under the eaves. Shirlv I have worn jeans and tee shirts since I was a kid and still do. I am tired of the peg legged jeans so ordered a couple of pairs of the straight legged ones and by some miracle both pair fit! The sweatpants don't seem warm enough for me in winter, maybe just have the wrong kind. I order a fleece lined pair and they weighed me down they were so heavy so back they went.

Barbie sorry your trip turned out so bad, (((hugs))) I know you were really frustrated over the top when you discovered your fanny pack missing. It is a miracle you found it.
Sandi good to see you back. I sold my RV too and I'm still here. I love seeing your art work.
We took Pippa to the vet this morning for her rabies shot, and next week she goes for the rest of her vaccines. She is so little he is separating thiem. I'm not sure when I will have her spayed, maybe if I don't Toby will like her 'someday'!
Sue wish I had your energy and your 'fix it' knowledge. I at least have my brother who can fix/build most anything to call for directions. He doesn't come help but at least i know what I need/or don't need! DH was raised in the city and his dad never did work around the house.
Velda I hope you get that much needed rain.! Karen glad you are starting to feel better!!!

I'm off for a nap while Pippa continues to sleep off her Dramamine I gave her before the drive to the vet!

Hi ladies,

I c/p all of my posts but somehow I missed the top half and am too lazy to rethink what I said. Next time...

Sandi, thanks for checking in. I miss your art work, too.

Barbie, I missed that you lost your fanny pack but glad to hear you found it.

Beth, I enjoy reading about your walks with Ty and your other adventures.

Sheila, since you post so late, late for me anyway, I always have your post to catch up on your adventures when I wake.

Judy, where are you going next?

It was about 49 when I got up and now it is 63 and the sun is finally shining. We were going to visit Brenda and the gals at Hardee Lake tomorrow but the weather is going to be rainy and raw again, so that has been rescheduled. My sister & her hubby, who just bought a new Airstream travel trailer and pickup, will be staying at a campground on the same road we are on only about 3/4 mile away and will arrive later on Thursday. Friday we will show them some of the sites and horse country in Ocala and Saturday, my other sister from Daytona, will meet us in Mount Dora for lunch. Us 3 sisters are all that is left of our immediate family in the states, so it will be fun getting together.

Good afternoon. Sun is shining and it is 61° outside. I sat out on my back deck for a while enjoying the sunshine. I am actually on the mend and starting to feel so much better...finally

I still need to get outside and take my Christmas lights down. They have been off of course but now just need to roll them up and get all the Christmas stuff around my house put away also. Actually have some motivation but I am not pushing it. I go to Medford on Wednesday for my eye doc appts and will come home Friday. Glad I am feeling better or I would have had to cancel and that is not good.

Load of laundry in and tomorrow will run the vacuum. Have been using the robot vacuum but I need to get the heavy duty dirt sucked up. I haven't done hardly anything around here except keep the bathrooms clean and change the sheets each week. So when I get back from Medford I need to start some housecleaning chores for sure.

Irmi, I will be leaving for Lake Louisa on Tuesday, Feb 15 and staying through Feb 21. How far away from you and the others is this??? Maybe I can meet you somewhere or even drive up there. I also have a reservation for Ortona South starting on Feb 22, so will be checking out of Lake Louisa early, if anyone wants my spots. The extra spots are Feb 22 thru Feb 27, checking out the 28th.

Called another mobile RV repair guy today and he returned my call, said he would be able to get over to fix my problems this week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Went out today to get a few groceries and pick up prescriptions. It took 25 minutes of waiting in line and then another 20 minutes while they tried to find one of my prescriptions. Apparently they were training a new person and had not had time to file all the prescriptions! When I got there I was #3 in line, but when i left, there were 8 people in line!! They are probably still there waiting, at the rate things were going.

Been trying to catch up on my reading during these cold and rainy days. I downloaded a biography of James Herriot written by his son, which is interesting. He's the guy who wrote the books about being a veterinarian in North Yorkshire a few years ago. Remember All Creatures Great and Small and All Things Bright and Beautiful?? Those were some of my favorite books in the 80s and 90s. There is a series based on those books on PBS these days.

I also watched the old movie with Sidney Poitier, To Sir With Love, so ordered the book the movie was based on, but have not started it yet. That was a fantastic move with Lulu singing the song by the same name.

Irmi, I posted about my lost fanny pack last night. Had to drive back over the mountains an hour and a half each way to get it, after driving 4 hours earlier over 2 mountain ranges! I was exhausted!

Was very busy today at work for being a Monday! My back is sore tonight. I am sure all that driving didn't do it any good. After work, bought a few food items to bring with on my next trip. I have a lot of packing to do yet for that one. Will be gone 6 days so I need to pack a lot more clothes, snacks, my gourd stuff, etc. Glad I got most of my house chores done last week.

I lost my second set of house keys so I had to stop at a locksmith shop this morning on the way to work to get another set made for my cat sitter.

I better get busy with some packing here...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sheila, my parents came from Germany in May 1952 along with my oldest sister, who was 3 at the time. The rest of our relatives are still in Germany, but those numbers have quickly dwindled the last few years. Other than cousins, I have only one aunt and uncle still living.

Judy, Webster, where we live, is maybe 45 minutes or so from Clermont. It would be nice to gtg with you again.
