Saturday November 6th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday November 6th

Mornin' ladies~~~
It's been a crazy week. Just 30 days after Dad passed his sister is now gone too. Guessing the original entire O'Malley Clan is now having a big party. My male cousin that lived with her is clueless about things, doesn't know where a will or life insurance policies are, etc. So I've been this week trying to help him, but he has to help himself first. Burial was yesterday.

Today, I'm back going thru Dad's paperwork. It's Neverending!

Mild temps here this weekend, then cold again. My poor old horseback riding hips are not enjoying these temps.

Have a good day ladies.
Cheryl

Cheryl, (((hugs))). You have a lot on your plate right now. You have all winter to hunker down and deal with all this stuff. Don't let it (or your cousin) overwhelm you.

Need to get up here. Lots to take care of around here today. Slept good and woke up at 7:30. Just getting caught up on FB and emails and WRV forum! And hugging up Lola! :D (she doesn't like it but I do it anyways! ).

Have a good day! :D

You are a good cousin both to help and to back off and encourage your cousin to take care of business. I was blessed that my dad had all his paper work in a folder and Trusts set up. My stepmothers wasn't quite as tidy but pretty good. The best part was that they both had great health insurance and I didn't have bills trickling in forever.

Bought a new computer and am enjoying the upgrade in speed and performance. I was able to load everything from the back up storage. Only a few programs are not supported and they are ones that I don't really use or hadn't used in a long time. I had printed out anything I considered priceless....

Looking to get out and enjoy some of the fall colors though tomorrow is suppose to be a bit warmer. I also admit that I forgot to share that I had lunch again last Thursday with Sharon. She got to meet Lark since it was a cool day and Lark got to do a ride along. I think she and Ted are heading back to the southwest this week trying to get out of Ohio before it freezes.
They probably caught some of the "chilly" earlier this week but I am sure New Mexico looks sunny about now.

Cheryl, sorry you lost your aunt too. Your cousin sounds about as clueless as my son will be if I'm gone. I have copies of things in a ring binder with a letter on the front telling him where to find things. Maybe he can find the ring binder. His girlfriend works for a law firm. It looks like she could help him with things but that doesn't seem to be the case. They are both about clueless. My mother had problems so I felt like I had to be competent at a young age. When my dad would be gone months at a time leaving her with 4 kids she would really fall apart. When he was home he took care of everything but cooking. When he retired he even started doing the cooking.

My hips don't bother me too much but the cold weather doesn't help my knees. I have to get on my knees to doctor Mr P and you should see me trying to get up. I can just see me kneeling down sometime and having to crawl to the road to get someone to get me up. I need to find a stool to sit on.

I should have gone to Walmart yesterday when I went to town but I didn't feel like going. Not that there was anything wrong with me, I just didn't want to go to Walmart. I need to decide what kind of soup I'm going to make for the campout and get that done. This is my month to make the dessert of the month for the club and deliver it. I would like to just buy a cake but guess I won't.

Tina, glad you got to have lunch with Sharon. It's been a long time since I have seen her.

It is a sunny but cold morning here. Cheryl I'm sorry to hear about your aunt passing. It is too bad her son doesn't know where the paperwork is located. I hope you can take a break and go some place warm for awhile.
I need to tell someone other than DH where 'stuff' is as he just isn't interested. We have no children and are not close to my niece and nephew and DH has no living relatives that we know of. Thank goodness for good friends! We do need to update our wills, we have a trust for the dogs but as vet expenses increased we need to increase the amount.
Time to think of getting food for lunch and dinner, always a chore when one isn't hungry.

OMG it is really chilly outside this morning. 44° but there is a wind and dang that is chilly. Doing some maintenance chores this morning. I need to go to Lowe's and pick up 2 new outdoor motion lights to replace the phony ones on my back deck that sometimes work and other times not. They are old anyway. Was looking at reviews and people said the plastic ones are just fine and work just as well as the expensive ones. So found some for $12 - $14 dollars so will try them. I dont need fancy, I just like to see the dog out in the yard and make sure she does her business before we go to bed. Are easy to hook up ( two wires) just need to make sure I have some wire nuts, I know a few come with them BUT knowing me I could drop one and it would just disappear LOL

Going to go to the Arts and Crafts festival at the Fairgrounds tomorrow. Just for something to do and to get out of the house. I was going to go to the Farmers market this morning but since I am leaving town on Monday think I will wait until next weekend to do that. Unless it is too cold or windy or raining. Doesn't take a whole heck of alot to dissuade me.

Oh Velda what a mess. I hate it when things like that happen. Very frustrating. Cheryl so sorry about your aunt. Nice of you to try to help the cousin tho, some people are so helpless at times. Wahoo Tina got a new computer AND got to have lunch with Sharon. Martha I hate going to Walmart but I go because they just might have what I want.,...or not. If they dont have it I just go to trusty Amazon, they always have what I want.

The sun is out so opened my blinds to let it help heat the house. I dont keep my house real warm (usually 65 or 66) as I put on my long underwear (silky kind slides well under pants and tops) sweatshirts and if I am sitting I just cover up with my fleece blanket or my heated throw. Then it is just cold when I get up ha ha If I am working around the house I dont get that cold in fact I start shedding clothes.

Time for a shower and to find something to take out for dinner.

Karen, I have solar lights all around Sugar's yard but they are the kind that come on at dark and stay on. By midnight they are out of power. There is one that is motion activated and I need to find more of those so I can see what she is up to. I think I have all the places covered where a varmint (as in skunk, raccoon or possum) can get in. I usually have to order the motion activated ones from Amazon.

My motion detector lights are the ones Costco has in store. They were about $30, but, like everything else, have probably gone up. They run on solar and come on with flood light with a wide area detecting motion. I had Sean put the extra Mel had in a box, up on corner of house where it's 2nd story height facing side driveway. It lights up whole area if anyone walks through after dark. So handy not to have to recharge or replace batteries.
I'm procrastinating while my CBD kicks in , then will start again on kitchen. Turkeys have gotten quiet so they are either gone for day or busy out back grazing for grass and bugs.
I'm trying to make the transition after I die, as easy on my sons as I can. Everything is in a large binder from the lawyer and first of year I plan to type an updated list of accounts and passwords. My older son, who is disabled could not do it on his own, but with his younger brothers help, they will figure it out. It's tough when a parent dies without clear instructions and plans, and if you have no experience at this stuff, it's even harder. Your cousin is lucky to have your help.
I'm off to kitchen. Have a good day.

Hi ladies!

Cheryl, I'm so sorry about the loss of your aunt, too. I saw that a few days ago...I really need to make notes about things going on in everyone's lives. Steve & I don't have any children, either, so need to think about what we need to do. Tina, it is amazing to see the things you are doing after everything you've gone through. Beth, I'm glad you were able to spend some time with Linda & now Barbie will be doing the same.

It's cold in central FL and I'm not happy. I just went inside the motorhome and changed the clocks for falling back. Later this evening, I'll change the clocks in the casita. Tomorrow is church, so I need to practice for the service before we leave. We'll get into the high 40's tonight and lower 40's Sunday night. Starting Monday, we'll start warming up, but I'm not happy until we get back into the 80's. But this is still better than the weather in MD, so I should stop complaining.

I like solar lights but cant really have any because the sun would never hit where I have the lights attached under my awning on my big back deck. So will just change these out and call it good. Probably wont do it until I come back from Medford.

I got up early and bought biscuits and gravy to go when the diner opened at 7:30. Drove to Benson, got propane, settled in, opened up the casita are 1/2 the biscuits and gravy but am not doing much even with the dust in the casita as I'm only here about 10 days. And doubt I'll be back until this time next year. I individually packed several meals and got them in the casita freezer for now and saved the other 1/2 of the biscuit and gravy for tomorrow's breakfast. My RV fridge and freezer were jam packed.

Ty remembers the place and I think is frustrated we didn't make it into the desert today. Hopefully tomorrow. And that, in a nutshell, is how I've spent my birthday. I'll probably be sleeping early. I should probably try to keep these hours but I'm exhausted by mid afternoon when I get up so early (before 7 lately). Ty is sound asleep now because of I get up then, so must he.

Cheryl, your cousin is lucky to have your guidance.

I have no children, but need to update anything with a person listed to get anything. I think most everything will be changed to charities with possibly a couple little exceptions. Then again, I may spend everything first. I'm ok with doing that. :)

Happy birthday Beth!!

I worked on the outside of the house again (gets so dirty in a very short time!) and cleaned out my car and took out the trash from the house (way behind on that). Still have a little organizing of stuff left over from a few weeks ago but will do that another day.

Will get the Jeep washed on the way to see Linda in the morning. She is planning to stay put for the winter out here but that depends on her finding a good part-time job. I know the new owners of where I work, are planning to hire more people but don't know when that will happen. Could be weeks or months away. Amazon has a new fulfillment center here in the desert that they are hiring for, but not sure she wants to do that again. Lot of jobs tho, out here during "season" with all the snowbirds coming back.

I don't have much for anyone to deal with when I am gone but have no clue who will do that. Chances are, my brothers will go before I do, so I really won't have anyone to take care of that. I have a file folder that I have all my info contained in. Maybe by then, I will be living in an RV and won't even have a house to deal with. I don't own anything of any value. I am planning to have my ashes put around a tree in a forested memorial park somewhere out here. So that will make things simple. If I am ever in contact with my daughter again, I will hand it all over to her.

Need to jump in the shower to get all the dust off and find something to eat before I go to bed.

Cheryl very sorry to hear about your aunt... right now I have 3 aunts one is my husband's aunt one is my aunt on my dad's side and one is a aunt on my mom's side ... I think it is a race between my mom and her sister has to who will be the last one of a huge family my aunt is in a care center as she had what they call a mini stroke and can't seem to regain her strength to do things with just one helping her ... I understand that although we pretty much have it worked out so that mom is only needing one person most of the time.. my sister in law is much better at it than I am but then she has had over 15 years practice...
today mom needed to go to the bathroom no one awake so she got herself into her wheelchair and got to the bathroom was just pulling down her bottom's when sister in law found her but she was proud of herself as she did it herself... still in lots of pain it's sorta a catch 22 as she hurts enough that she doesn't want to move but it would be best for her to do so... and her feet are swelling up... suppose to get home health but they are busy and won't make it in till I don't know when I would have thought that at least the day of discharge or the next day to just be on top of things would be proper... but what do I know... BJ you sound like my mom it is so hard to find something for her as she just isn't hungry although today she ate almost 2 pancakes and one slice of bacon... then she started spitting up phlegm it's gotten to be each meal where it used to be occasionally... I feel like I am on repeat...I've probably mentioned that in the past.
How nice Tina to get to meet up with Sharon it's been so long since I've seen her...
Have a really good recipe for a dessert if you want Martha yummy and they will think you did a lot of work where not much is done... actually have two recipes :D
back from giving med's and taking mom to restroom so now not sure if I recall everyone's news... that is way to bad Velda about your water issues... it's irritating isn't it when you have plans and something unforeseen makes you change them...
my kids will split whatever I have left which won't be much have to life insurances but one is mostly for burial and the other isn't a heck of a lot either.... not sure what to tell them to do with the 5th providing I still have it... guess well have to give it much thought...
went to a craft fair today with my sister in law saw some really pretty stuff some stuff was so high... a hat 53$ and change wow!!!... then as we were heading for the car a lady was stepping up on to the sidewalk and face planted and slid.... hurried to her gave her some kleenix that I found while others called family and 911 one lady applied pressure bad cut over the eye and found out later that her nose was broken sore shoulder could have been so much worse...glasses were really scratched up...
need to go to bed but think I will play one game you all have a great night
