Steamy Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Steamy Sunday

I woke up in the middle of the night to a rumbling sound. Couldn't figure out what it was, but then I heard loud raindrops on my awning and looked out. It was pouring rain and then I saw the lightning. We were having a thunderstorm! Yay!....well for about 5 minutes and then it was all over. :( But it made it nice and steamy today. I noticed there is also a smokey smell outside this morning. Not sure what that is from. I don't see any smoke or know of any fires out this way.

Got up early to go pick up the kitty. She is a female and about 6-7 months old. They gave her some vaccinations and a microchip and clipped her ear. I was told that I need to keep her until tonight since she needs to stay inactive for several more hours. So I have her (still in the trap) in my bathtub with the door closed, so Lola doesn't get in there. I will release her later tonight. She is still very skittish but she has been thru a lot the last 24 hours! The TNR lady I am working with asked if I want to try again next weekend for another cat. I said I would.

Am tired so I think I will take a little nap for a bit here. I need to run to WM later for a few things.

Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good for you, Barbie. One down and hopefully more to go!

My son's cat, who has been very suspicious of me, suddenly yesterday came up to me as I was sitting and rubbed against me, purring. This is the cat who has been following me around, but from about 15 feet, watching my every move, but running away whenever I got nearby or even looked at her for too long. Cats are certainly weird! She was originally a stray, found wandering on the streets when she was about 6-7 weeks old. She was all by herself, so was picked up by someone and taken to a shelter, where my son and his family found her when they were looking for a kitten. She is certainly independent, but now she is a friendly cat toward me!!

Today, I am going to do a couple loads of laundry and get ready to head out early tomorrow. I am getting that tooth pulled, but there is no parking near the dentist, so I will park on the street in front of my son's house, take his car (he will be out of town) and drive to nearby dentist, then return car when I am done and pick up motorhome. Will head out onto Ohio Turnpike and get almost to Michigan where I will stay at one of the Turnpike RV electric sites for the night. Will be short drive to Sterling SP in Michigan the next day.

Sunny today, but power went out for several hours in the middle of the night. It was back on by late morning, so I don't know how long it was out. Hopefully no rain today. Supposed to be sunny tomorrow, also.

Today was a lazy day for me. Warm outside & since I keep my a/c fairly high I don't feel like doing much.

Granddaughter is coming on Wed & will stay a week at my place. Just had a friend from KS here for a week so need to get the guest bed linens washed & back on.

The day after granddaughter leaves, my son & his family fly to Hawaii for a week so I get a week off!!!! So ready for retirement again. Trying to keep a 20-month occupied, playing with his toys & going on walks is getting harder as he gets older. Still cute as ever but I know he needs more than I offer him. They've lined up a 3-day preschool for him starting in Jan. We're hoping we can snag a full-time slot, but we're happy to get him in at least part-time. Many of the teachers from Olivia's preschool teach there now so it'll feel like leaving him with family members. :D I'm going to start taking him to story-time at the library which is starting up in August to get him used to being around other kids & adults. He's a little more shy than Olivia was at this age.

Hope they can get those fires under control & things cool down a bit, but doesn't sound like that's going to happen any time soon.
Good going on getting that kitten fixed, Barbie. Wish more people would do that.
Sorry you won't be traveling for a while, Cheryl. Glad you found a place for your trailer though - I know how tough that can be.
Good to hear from Lyn & Peggy. ;)
Good luck at the dentist tomorrow, Judyb.

Well, I'd better get that bed fixed up.
Take care & stay cool.
