Afternoon all. Another damp and humid day here in northern Michigan. We had a beautiful day here yesterday. Perfect summer day. Now back to the damp and humid for a couple of days and then this mess is supposed to move out of here. If it heads East like they normally do, you gals out there will have a few days of damp, humid weather not that you haven’t been having any anyway. This has been a funny system because over the weekend it was making funny looking clouds and was very stale and humid. As Cheryl mention, there was a tornado not far from the campground that she was in. First time one has ever occurred there. It was classified as an EF2 with wind about 120 miles an hour. Damaged several homes and of course trees. MI is not known as a big tornado state. Mostly EF-0-2 types when they do occur. The state has only had one EF-5 in it’s history and the last big one I can recall was an EF-4 in 1964. That one I remember because we were on our way up north when it passed over I-75 and we took shelter under an overpass due to the hail. Only after we got up here, did we learn it had been a tornado that had been on the ground, lifted up, crossed over I-75 and touched down a bit later, destroying the community it hit.
Being lazy here today, but am heading out to the garage to put the first coat of paint on my bench. Primed it yesterday. Will take time to dry, but that’s okay.
Cheryl, sorry to hear about your dad. As Tina said it so well, travels will be there as will your friends. Take care of dad and the business at hand. Things will fall into place as they are meant to. There is a time and a place for everything in our lives, and we know not where or when they will happen. But for every adversity we face, we become a stronger person and those do pass.
Velda, glad to hear things are looking up a bit more with the blood pressure and other issues you have been having. Karen, hope your heat wave breaks. Martha, as Barbie said, it is a winch you are thinking of. Beth, I get the drift you will be lookng else where for work next summer. May e back to WI or something for a change of scenery? Judy, sorry you have a boring wait down there, but at least things are getting fixed. Now, if the awning would arrive… I’m planning on GTG with you when you are at Hartwick Pines.
Guess I had best get with the paint brush. Have a nice day all and keep safe.
