Muggy Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Muggy Friday

Morning everybody. Muggy morning here, but that’s good because it’s being caused by rain showers making the atmosphere damp. We certainly need it. Not a lot of rain, but little by little it adds up. Grass is starting to Showa little green. I worked on my deck railing project and was able to finish the railing and paint all but the new balusters. They are pressure treated and still a little damp, so wanted to let them air for awhile. Won’t be doing any more out there till the weather clears. So decided to work on my porch table and also another project I want to do. Make a bench for front of garage, for under that ladder I put up, use it to set some decorations on. Just doing fun projects.

Reading about the comparison between the green of the Midwest and East as compared to the west reminded me of my trip to Yellowstone. By the time I headed home through southern Wyoming, and out across the plain, I was ready for the green hills of home. I missed my pine, spruce, blue lakes, rivers etc. was glad to start getting back into WI and north. From pictures I have seen, I know the SW and other areas west have their own beauty, but the desert areas have never appealed to me. I’ve been to WA, so know that states diverse topography. I’ve always though I would like to go back west and see Oregon and northern CA. But with the climate change, 100 degree weather etc., probably never will. I know there are times when it’s not that way, but by then winter weather is moving in, so no traveling across country. But who knows.

We’ll, guess I should get moving and do something constructive. Need to run the vac and then head south to Grayling. One store has T-Bone steak special todsy and want to get some. So best get moving here. Have a great dsy all.

Morning All, Pleasant weather holding here for a few more days. Been struggling with tomato plant. Have decided the plant is too big for the pot. Guess it was not meant for a small balcony garden so will stick with flowers in the future. :) I found a recipe for air fryer hard boiled eggs that said preheat fryer then add eggs. Don’t the cold eggs crack when added to the hot basket? Not much happening in my little corner of the world so will sign off. Stay cool and be safe

Update, found another recipe that doesn’t require preheating. Airfryer on, no explosion yet. :D

2nd update. Perfect eggs and easy to peel. 3.5 qt. airfryer. 6 eggs, 250° for 17 minutes then ice bath :D

Good morning to all. When I got up this morning I found the RV in front of the house. Bill had been up for hours I guess and walked over to get the RV - a couple of blocks away in storage. He decided to bring it home and wash it. I got up at 6:30...so now it is clean everything is working so later I will go out and make the bed and start putting some things away for our summer which will start next Wednesday. Going to Idaho, visit friends, then to Leavenworth, WA and then to the Oregon coast. Have four weeks of reservations along the coast in different 100 Trails parks. So because we weren't sure when we could get out of here we had no other reservations....Spent an entire day and half of another trying to find campgrounds with openings. A couple of times we will be detouring from our planned route just because nothing available where we thought we would go. Finally got all but one day taken care of. Bill doesn't want to drive more than around 150 miles a day so that put a few kinks in finding places. He also doesn't want to unhook car - if not stay more than one night especially if it is a back in. I can't believe how much it wore me out! A few years go it wouldn't have bothered me. We only have reservations until the last 1000 Trails - then we have to come home, but will wait to do those. Might be some rest stops involved in that portion of the trip! Prices of campgrounds now was a real eye opener. For nothing but a gravel spot.
Also had to up my GBs for my Verizon data plan. Took a couple of calls but finally got a hold of someone who knew what she was doing. So that is done. And the prescriptions they told me I couldn't get until tomorrow actually came through on Wednesday. If I'd known that we'd be leaving today...Oh well.
Storm moved through here yesterday - we got about 25 rain drops, my girlfriend on other side of town got 1/2 inch! But we did get 30 minutes solid of loud thunder and weather cooled off to high 80s for a while.
Today I hope to remember to go to the One Stroke Painting class in the clubhouse here. Got to remember it is at 1:00. I've been fooling with the paints I've had for years but still need some refreshing on the technique.
So that is what is going on here for now.
Time to get busy out in the RV before it gets too hot.

It stays green here year round. There is a horse show in Fort Worth that we went to every year. The show is in December so cold has killed the grass in fields. We looked at land several times but we didn't like the looks of everything in the winter. My dad's family moved to Louisiana from New Mexico in the 1930's when the dust bowl was going on. I don't think my grandmother ever got over how green Louisiana was. She loved that she could just put a stick in the ground and it would grow. If she went to visit someone she would come home with a cutting of something.

I had a weak moment and signed up for the Meetup breakfast in Lafayette tomorrow. It takes a lot of effort for me to get to Lafayette for 9:00. I have been wanting some new shorts so maybe I can make it by Kohl's or the mall. I need to go renew my Sam's membership. I don't shop there very often but the gas station is easy to get the motorhome into if I'm going to or coming home from a campout. I don't know why gas stations started making it so hard to get to the pumps.

Sue, I have been buying the steaks Judy told me about. I don't remember what she called them but Walmart calls them Chuck Eye Steak. Super 1 calls them something else. They are a good size to cook in my air fryer. Most of the time I can't get a T-Bone in the air fryer. Shirl, I'll have to try the eggs in the air fryer.

I was hoping the grass would dry up so I could mow but it just rained again.

I love my air fryer hard boiled eggs. The recipe I followed, 275 for 15 minutes. Similar and good to know both work. I never bother preheating the air fryer even when a recipe calls for it.

Today through Sunday will all be very busy work days. I went in early this morning but we had so much to discuss that I didn't get started any earlier than normal. Go figure. Monday should be pretty slow, then 2 days off. My intentions are to leave Monday afternoon and be gone two nights. Weather and time will tell.

Yesterday it rained here about 10 or 15 minutes. 5 minutes later you couldn't tell it had happened. It's raining right now, but I'm guessing it'll be about the same.

I like the desert, but would not stay here in southern Utah an entire summer again I don't think. The red rocks are beautiful but it's windy, dirty, dusty. I much prefer the desert in other areas and the green of the Black Hills that I spent so many summers in. I liked Vermont, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania and hope to do a summer out east, hopefully Maine next year.

Good afternoon from hot Washington!

Before I forget again - I was glad to see the car wash product you recommend brought up again, Sandi. Think that might work well here. Beth, thanks for mentioning The Good Witch - I started the series. I saw it way back when - may not have been a series at that time but just a movie or 2? Shirl, sorry the tomato plant is getting out of hand! Barbie, I hope the new opportunity works out well!

Wednesday I took the Sling for an overnight to ride the North Cascade Hwy. Started and ended in the 90s so appreciated the 70s and 80s in between. Stayed the night in Winthrop. Lots of beautiful mountains and waterfalls. Came home fairly early yesterday to beat the heat. I was really done in. Met a Sling on the way and as I was unloading at the motel, another pulled in!

I shopped this morning and then Monica came to help me get organized a little bit more. Dining room chairs came so we put those together. Easiest things so far!

Tomorrow I head to Port Angeles for the weekend. Need to stay home one of these days - the 4th of July will be perfect for that!

Gotta get laundry done and packed for weekend!

Made it home from down south after vet appt for Emma, and eye injections Thursday and Friday. I left shortly after todays injection. Had to go back to my friends house to pick up the dog. Too hot for her to wait for me in the car. Uneventful drive up here to home. Had a a pretty full mailbox and a couple of packages on the porch. My Prime Day stuff should be here today. Felt a wee bit like Christmas LOL

I need to go shopping as I have no fresh veggies, salad fixings or fruit so might head out early tomorrow or Sunday morning. The heat is on for this weekend but I will just stay hunkered down inside. Sunday predicted 112° Time to find something for dinner now.
