Muggy Subday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morni g. A bit muggy this morning, but expecting g rain and storms this afternoon and that will clear out this warm and humid weather. We’ve been in the mid 80’s, way above normal. Be glad when it goes back unto the 70’s, although supposed to be cooler by later part of the week. Figures. Memorial Day is coming.

I got my trailer back Friday afternoon. He went over it with a fine tooth comb. Says roof is good, checked out slide function, gears, bearings etc. tightened my drawer under kitchen sink as it wasn’t pulling out right, cleaned out both of my roof vents, as mouse had decided to store some leaves and pine needles in them this wi ter. First time for a mouse on any of my trailers I’ve had. But nothing inside. Tightened my screen door as it wasn’t tight, changed bulb in my one taillight as I noticed it wasn’t working this spring and checked the other one too. Greased bearings, aired up tires etc. and even washed my awning and checked it’s function. I had planned to wash my I didn’t after I got it back but now I win’t have to. So my trailer got the works. The only issue that we were having, is for some reason my battery will only run my jack for so long and then it quits. But if he hooked his battery up to my Jack, it’s fine. I’ve had my battery tested and checked out and nobody can find anything wrong with it. I can run the Jack with no problem, if I have it plugged into my truck because the truck battery is running the jack or if I’m p,ugged into Shore power. Strange. I have an audit trail right now and I will see what happens while I’m on my camping trip. If it keeps acting up, I will make an appointment with the dealer to have it checked out so that they can see what it’s doing. Otherwise my trailer is in top shape. Maybe I should put a for sale sign on it ha ha Ha. Not that I have been thinking about it anyway

O’Sharon, are those new steps you got for Rascal, open along the back by chance. I read that dogs are reluctant to go up steps that are open as thty don’t feel secure when they can see through them. Sone people who have those new type steps They are putting on RV’s now have mentioned issues with their dogs not wanting to go up them until they put something along the back to close them in.

Barbie, hope that situation gets resolved for you. Pat, cute cartoon. Shirl, tomato plants can get tall and yours may also be reaching for the sun, being it is on a balcony and not out in the open. Sou ds like you are having fun with your gardening project.

Need to get going here. Off to mass this morning and then stop in our parish hall to say goodbye to our Parochial Vicar, the church’s term for Associate Pastor who is being transferred to another parish. We are going to miss him and also his great singing voice. So have a nice day everyone.

Good morning Sue, hot and muggy here also. Sounds like you are ready to hit the road, Happy Times. My children thought I was weird when I said I would get butterflies when I turned the key on my class c and that big engine roared. :D Read up on sugar snap peas, they need a trellis. The raised bed can handle a trellis/teepee not sure what I will do on the balcony. Bit the bullet bought more iCloud space and backed up my IPad. The new IPad is still in the box on the coffee table. I’m trying to get the courage to try transferring data from the old IPad to the new. Will contact Apple support to see if it sounds too complicated. Going to be an unpleasant day, trapped in the apartment by heavy traffic with a new IPad in a box. Be safe

Good morning all. I haven’t been doing so well in the extreme heat here. Morning have been fine and it is only the hug over size fan hanging from the ceiling that make the fairground building at all comfortable. Between weather conditions and the fact that I walked over four miles yesterday I guess it isn’t surprising that I am experiencing some issues with my medication. I was so hoping that the stuff I started Friday would bring some improvement. But I continue forward because I like forward....it provides nice possibilities. I will be leaving Tuesday or Wednesday for Charlotte, NC, and my daughter’s driveway. Stay healthy, keep your imagination and your curiosity well fed.

Good morning. Sue you sound really ready to rock n roll. I miss this time of year getting my Motorhome ready for camping but it was a good decision to sell. Especially since my life is very different now. I have plenty to keep me busy around here. I was busy yesterday ALL day. Put my new bedspread on the guest bed. I just didnt like how "poofy" the other one was so will just store it away for another day LOL Then I put a small bookshelf together that I ordered for my office. Went together pretty easy, only had to fix one boo boo that I put on upside down LOL

It warmed up outside so got some paint out and painted and patched the siding where they had a hose hanger and somehow it got ripped off. Will hang the new one I got today. Then had to weed eat a small patch of grass (aka weeds) where Emma likes to potty. I threw some grass seed in but so far nothing growing. It is on rocks so I figured if the weeds could grow so could some grass. Will throw some garden soil down then some more grass seed when I get back from Memorial Day weekend. Unloaded all the mulch and potting soil out of my car. Set my drip tubing out in the sun so it would be more flexible. put it where I want it and will put the connections on today, punch the holes to attach the drip tubing and drippers voila, hopefully will just have to turn on the hose to water the squash and tomatoes out back. Will tackle the front next week. My final act was to rake the soil around my Lilac and Azalea and spread a few bags of mulch. DONE This gardening isn't for sissies. Today going to take it easy and just putter with the drip system.

Tina hope you are not overdoing it. Heat can knock you on your butt very easily but I know you will eat and keep hydrated. Shirl hope you find help with your IPAD, I am not an Apple user so I am not much help but I hear Apple support can walk you thru it. Good luck

Good morning. It’s going to be another hot day here also. I’m enjoying it, better then snow! We could use some rain though. I didn’t get much done yesterday just more puttering so guess I did do something! Nothing major but little bit at a time! I thought the pollen had slowed down to nothing but my poor car is covered with yellow again. Plus there’s been road work very close by so the dust is covering it too. Don’t know why it makes me so crazy but it does. Barbie, I think Rascal’s upset is partly the lack of normal house sounds and the total darkness. Mostly the sounds, I think. And Sue, I think you’re right about the open backs of the steps, I’m just not sure how to solve it and still be able to fold them. Plus he’s used to carpet on my house steps so that may be a problem too. I’m thinking of thin carpet taped to each step to see if that helps and still be able to fold them. So that’s my next project! Barbie, kinda wonder why the management isn’t willing to do more about the guy’s bad attitude. It’ll be interesting to hear what the owner has to say about it all. Anita, it’s getting exciting that you’re about ready to move into your apartment. Tina, hope your new med kicks in soon. It’s hard to keep a strong woman down! You’ve had a rough time but sounds like the pup is taking good care of you. So guess I need to get busy and accomplish something today! Have a good day, keep smiling and stay safe.

I know you want to make what you purchased work, but here's a picture of the folding steps I had for Peaches that covers carpeting and having a back... I knew she wouldn't work with anything see through.

Morning all, have to rush as I'm working today. But I'd rather have the warmth most of you seem to have... Our temps dropped considerably and I'm dealing with overnight hard freezes again. I'm hoping this will be the last of them, but I hoped that a couple weeks ago and they are back lol

Good morning gals!

Just waiting for the church service to start at 10:00. I woke up around 1am with a horrible aching pain around my knee. It wasn't a sharp pain in a specific spot but an aching pain from my knee up to my hip. Was very uncomfortable and I took some of the pills I got for my shoulder. Took about an hour and a half to get back to sleep. I sure hope that gets better soon! Feels OK this morning so far but I am still in bed. I am thinking it is more of a nerve thing than a joint or muscle thing. I am just falling apart!

Kept my windows open all night and that felt good. Very calm outside this morning tho. Probably means it is gonna get hot today.

Karen, when I put things together, I invariably put one piece on backwards or upside-down!

Sue, sounds like you are all ready to hit the road!

Tina, keep cool and pace yourself. You don't want to overdo it and end up having problems again. You need to stay healthy for your dogs. :D

Nothing big planned for today. Been a stressful past few days so I need a calm day. I will be watching the PGA golf tournament today tho. Phil Mickleson was in the lead yesterday and I love watching him. I hope he wins today! He hasn't won a tournament in a long time due to injuries and is getting older now (50, which is considered "senior" in the golf world).

Enjoy your day!

It is going to get steamy here with everything being so wet. It's already 85. The water in the pasture has gone down just a little. We should be ok since we have a week with no rain. I need to mow Sugar's yard. She rubs along the fence so I got some little stakes at Lowe's to keep her from pushing it off the cement. It's just to do it. I would like to spray some weed killer but it's too windy. Maybe I'll get ambitious enough to get the weed eater out.

When the weather is nice I really want to go camping again. I would like to go up to the lake but not with my sister. She is still having problems with diarrhea. I would be sick from taking all the pills she takes. She went to the doctor but it didn't sound like they were much help. Some of my camping group are going to the beach that is about an hour West of here for Memorial Day. I'm just afraid to bring my camper and get it stuck. If the weather is nice it will be a zoo over there. Before the hurricanes destroyed all the rental places on the beach we would go with the neighbors sometimes. The kids would have a blast.

Barbie, I'm with you, I think I'm falling apart too. I have a pain behind my left knee. It's usually my right knee I have problems with. When I reach for something with my right arm I get a pain in my shoulder. I have to be careful not to drop things. At least they don't hurt if I don't move but I need to keep moving.

Tina, have a good trip and be careful of the heat. I'm not looking forward to our 100 degree days.

I haven't fixed lunch yet. I got some thick cut pork chops the other day and think I'll try cooking one in the Air Fryer. I had bought two bags of the small potatoes for the Crawfish boil but didn't use them. I boiled them and have been making hash browns out of them. If the hurricane season is already started I need to get the food in the freezers down so I can bring it to my son's if I have to leave.

Spent a few hours at my son's yesterday. They had her father and his wife, and some teaching friends who have two boys that are about the same age as my two teenaged grandkids--14 and 16. Mostly four kids played in pool and then went inside to play games on the TV--lots of screaming and yelling. Adults were outside, but they have three cats who mostly hang around people, but with the screaming over the games, not a cat was to be found anywhere. I suspect they were under beds or hiding somewhere. Anyway, I left after dinner to get some work done at home. Napa EXPO (fairgrounds RV park) is less than a mile from kids house, so easy to drop me off. Except I was really wiped out and achy, partly from rough driving through LA and then the Bay Area previous two days.

Got my mail and a bunch of Amazon packages that had been mailed to my son, so spent quite a bit of time unpacking and putting stuff away. Kids thought it was funny that one package was dried celery flakes and another were gentle band-aids, but I got tired of trying to find certain things in grocery stores or Walgreens, so just bought a lot of stuff online!

Son is coming over later to help me decide if I can put some extra weatherstripping on slides, inside and out. He is 6'3" so it is a lot easier for him to reach high places, and this RV park at the fairgrounds has paved sites that are all 12' wide and 75' long, so easy to work on stuff here. Also want him to show me how to take top off my stove so I can clean under there where stuff goes when it spills!!

Have been watching golf off and on today. Phil Mickleson is still in the lead!

I went over to my friend Cindy's house earlier to give her a haircut. We had a nice long chat. She is trying to sell her parents place (who both passed away in the past 5 months) and also her house, so she can move up closer to the rest of her family. We might go hang out at the pool tomorrow.

I got a letter from my health insurance saying they denied a request by my orthopedic specialist for a drug called Duexis. He gave me a sample of it and it is basically ibuprofin with something in it to prevent ulcers. Not sure why they would deny something like that. I haven't been taking too much ibuprofin anyways so not a big deal for me right now. I do remember a few years ago when I had a lot of problems and pain with my shoulder and was taking it like candy and did get an ulcer from it, so I can see why he wanted to subscribe it for me.

My knee feels OK today so far. I need to make something for dinner. Haven't eaten much yet today. Still haven't tried to see if the oven will light since Easter :o . I just don't use it much so haven't thought to do that lately.

Good news! My son came over in the early afternoon, so he helped me add air to my front tires, checked my slides inside and out and replaced some weatherstripping, plus took my stove top off so I could clean where stuff had spilled and burned. Then he took me to winery and olive oil specialty stores where I got a bottle of wine and some olive oil for when i see my nephew in about three weeks. He lives in Denver, and I am going to be driving past there in mid-June on my way back to Ohio and Michigan for the summer.

Feels good to get some maintenance chores done! Yea!

I've been ordering odd things I can't find at the drug store from Amazon also Judy. Why is it they never have the gentle bad=aids even before the pandemic. There were several things I needed recently and they either didn't have them or only had them in really large sizes. Glad your son was able to help you. It is frustrating trying to find someone to do the little odd little maintenance issues.
