Monday March 29

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday March 29

Good Morning All, sunshine today after all the rain yesterday. Nothing exciting here just spend the days moving containers to sunshine or out of harms way. Temperatures dropping into low 30’s the end of the week. Looking forward to a ride and some girl talk tomorrow after a year of texting. Have thought about the missing Anne. Hope she is just selling lettuce from a stand in front of her house. Fun to read of hopes and travel plans from members. Be safe

Good Morning from Vegas. Looks like we are going to have a few nice days except for the wind. And pollen in the air. Glad we got the air purifier last year. The one day I had turned it off Bill was sneezing and snuffing like crazy.
Tomorrow we get our 2nd Phizer shot first thing in the morning.
Other than that not much going on. Bill is going to have to go to a hematologist - we had our lab work Tuesday and Thursday got a call from the doctor about the results. He is very very anemic and can't take any oral remedies so will need an iron infusion. ASAP. Hope it gets done soon. Need to call the specialist today to find out about seeing him. Doctor has already sent the referral.
And my tests do show I have an autoimmune disease of some kind. Leaning towards lupus. Will know more next week when we go back to doctor. Oh well. I have no symptoms of anything...
Mouse problem seems to be solved, no new droppings for a couple of weeks. I've been doing some embroidery on the machine and some beading to keep amused. It is finally warm enough for Bill to work on a wood project in the garage.
And we are talking about trying to take a few short trips in the summer in the RV. But I think I will also have to go get the cataracts on my eyes taken care of. Isn't getting older fun.
Just going to enjoy every day - now that mice are gone - and weather is good.
Glad everyone made it through the storms. Today going to watch the NASCAR races from the dirt track at Bristol - postponed from the weekend due to rain.
Stay safe and have fun.

Winnie is getting her wash and wax. Barbie, I tried to nap in the casita but just relaxed. I've started on today's project and pleased with my progress so far. Taking a short break.

It's sunny, to reach mid 80's and lower winds. Funny, I'll be going back to colder weather when I arrive in Utah. Oh well, I knew what I signed up for and it will pass. Weather apps are showing mid 50's for a high and upper 20's as the low when I get there. Actually probably not much different than what I'd arrive in SD to for the past 7 summers.

Ok, back to my project! Have a great day everyone.

Beth, you worked in SD for 7 summers? Boy time fly's when you are having fun. lol

It got cool last night but is back up to 75. The noon weather says we will have a cold front Thursday and maybe a frost. The weather channel said there have been 70 tornadoes in the last week and flooding in Tennessee. We have been lucky here. If I would ever build a house I would sure put a safe room.

The internet is scary. I looked up the ship Peggy is taking a cruise on and now I'm getting cruise ads. Sometimes I think my computer can read my mind.

I need to get my stuff together and go get the missing 1099. Then I can drop off my tax papers and go to Walmart. I use to have a container full of binder clips and today I can only find 2. The paper clips have disappeared too. I'm sure I'll remember that when I get to Walmart.

Sunny, breezy day here and 70. Nights are warming. About a week ago it was 39 when I went to bed, last night 54!
Please stay safe, those in tornado areas!
I am scheduled to start PT on my neck April 12, twice a week for a month. Hope it makes a difference. I need sleep!
Went to Curves, gradually more people allowed and now we get to use the stretching bars/apparatus. At moment 5-6 people in facility at a time, so 5-6 start every 30 min. It's gratifying o hear that most members kept up paid membership throughout the past year, using her online zoom and FB live, to help be sure she would survive to come through this! And all her employees are back working full time! Good community of gals, ranging from 30's to a few 90 year olds! We each carry a rag sprayed with soapy water to wipe down handholds plus we all wear masks and each machine gets a more detailed wipe down as each group finishes. I feel safer there than almost anywhere else!
I think I'll call Anne to be sure everything is ok. I'll let you know when I reach her.
Velda

First day of in-person kindergarten for Olivia today.

This is what the first day of school looks like for so many in 2021.
I am delighted that the kids will soon be back in the classrooms. Today they attended for 2 hours. They will resume zoom classes for the next 3 weeks & then attend in-person for a 2-hour session twice a week.

I'm amazed at what they have learned this year so far & give kudos to all the teachers, children & families who have managed to stay focused on education in such a trying time.

Catherine, teachers are certainly exceptional. During this year we need to remember them and our medical people, and all those necessary people. And Olivia looks adorable.

Velda, I can see that Anne has been coming on the forum. Hopefully she'll start posting again. She is missed.

Winnie is clean and waxed. It's sad to continue seeing her get more dull every year. When they say not to buy anything in it's first year Winnie is an example as far as the paint job. It was the first year they used this design/color and she started dulling immediately. If course when I tried to get help I was told it was outside the warranty for that... 3 months only. I know the day will come I'll need to get her painted. Meantime she's dull but spotless. I'll see how dirty I can get her going to Utah this weekend lol

Ty's exhausted. He loves this man who did the rig. He convinced him to take occasional breaks to visit him. I don't even think he took any naps. So even though he usually starts begging for dinner around 4:30 and I make him wait till 5, he is sound asleep and 5 is about to happen. And that's after his earlier than normal breakfast. It's cracking me up.

Beth, your new job must be at a higher altitude. That will help in the summer so it isn't too terribly hot. Do you get nervous starting a new job? I hope it works well for you there.

It is hot here this week, in the mid 90's. In a few months tho. 90's will sound wonderful! Supposed to get more wind over the next few days again. Yay  I feel guilty complaining about the weather here tho, with all the horrible weather happening across the country.

Golf in the morning and then my last PT session. Also our last golf game for the season. The winter season here really flew by!

My shoulder was still sore this morning and we had a super busy day today so that didn't help it any. Was hurting all day. I did 19 haircuts! :o Almost half of those were requests which was nice. I am very tired tonight tho. Luckily, no headache today.

Today is my daughter, Naomi's 20th birthday. Just sent her a nice card.

Barbie, it's close to 7000. And, yes, I try to pick places that don't get as hot and have lots to hold my interest.

I can't believe I just took Ty out for his last outing. I usually do that a couple hours later. But we also don't usually start the day so early except when I'm working and have to. I might, I hope, be able to get to sleep early tonight.

Sweet dreams everybody.

before I forget... Beth there are wild fires around the Black Hills homes have been evacuated however I didn't read the article... just saw it on yahoo news...
I actually got up on time even earlier than the alarm other that I took Shadow out then crawled back into bed until the alarm  but I actually didn't stay in bed for awhile...
got water what a joke that can be
1st thing was forgot to turn the nozzle so the water would flow then the hose kept popping out then I noticed that the barrel was starting to suck in what the heck forgot to unscrew the cap not sure why the hose kept popping out..
so after I finished that I went to change the oil in the generator (can you tell we had little wind??? changes tomorrow) so unscrew that screw that lets the oil out and drop it but the oil goes where it is suppose to so glad that I discovered that part opens  after the oil drained does it much faster when it has someplace to go... :o then put the cap on the container with the old oil and shook it yep that is where the screw went now what???? so emptied a container of water into the bird water feeders and transferred the used oil from one container to the other and there the screw was cleaned it up and put it back on... and added clean oil... even had enough .... decided I'd been in the sun long enough so went inside and read scriptures took a nap and went to get my pedi.... looks so much nicer still rough but that is the way it is .... if you had seen my feet you know how nice of a job she did given what she had to work with... came home took Shadow outside and he had to pee didn't even get out of my way peed on my foot eesh so grabbed a bottle of water was so surprised at how hot it was.... rinsed off feet and flip flops happened to have a blue paper towel (was going to make sure I had read the stick right) so used it to dry stuff off then propped up my feet for a bit till they were drier...
didn't do anything inside like I should have but did all my outside stuff....
this morning I was sitting out thinking of what I should do like dump out that water with the dead bodies in it :? when I heard scratching sound looked around went and checked the water another squirrel so dumped out the water and turned it upside down... looked this even he must be ok as there was only 2 bodies... still feel bad I will have to remember not to leave water in containers again
not sure what tomorrow will bring
you all have a good day

Hello everyone.

Just checking in, since a few have asked. Thanks for the phone call, Velda.

I think I have just run out of things to say.

Probably a bad case of 'Pandemic Fatigue' is setting in. I'm just tired of it - but then, so is everyone. I am well, and working on acquiring a more positive attitude.

Thanks to all for your concern.

Sheila, can you leave out a shallow pan of water for the squirrels? Obviously they are thirsty. Glad you saved the one squirrel.

Ann, glad you are doing OK. Just pop in and say "hi" so we know you are doing well. Hope you can get your mood up some. Maybe you can start writing a new book. I read that writing can help when you are feeling out of sorts.

The wind has really picked up tonight. Will open my bedroom windows for a good cross breeze. Will be in the low 60's over night.

I am off to bed...
