Good Morning Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning Friday

Postby Colliemom » Fri Feb 26, 2021 6:45 am

Hi everyone. Here we are, heading into the last weekend of February already. Seems like it was just New Years. Monday is the first day of meteorological Spring, It’s used by meteorologists to denote the changing of the seasons rather than the equinox date of the calendar. It’s based on the natural seasonal changes rather than the position of the sun, as those changes are already starting to take place. Here in the north, the sun is getting higher in the sky and you can feel it’s warmth. The temperatures are warming up, the birds are chirping and if you are Observant, you can see little subtle changes in the natural scheme of things. Meteorological Fall and Winter are probably the most noticeable seasons here in the north, as we start getting cooler and trees start changing before the calendar tells us it’s Fall. And cold and snow come before the winter solstice even happens. Supposed to be sunny and around 40 todsy and next week is looking pretty much the same. What snow we have is going to be on the melt. Enough weather lesson for today.

Sorry about your awning Judy. Those things aren’t cheap to repair. Those velcro straps come in handy. I carry some with me too as well as the trust duct tape. I saw an RV pulled over on I-75 last fall with it’s awning sticking straight out. Figured one arm must have broken loose from the side as it was still rolled up. Actually, it’s not a bad idea to strap your awning rails when it’s rolled up before you hit the road. Bouncing, jarring and wind can vibrate them and cause issues. Little added insurance. I used to do mine all the time even though the rails came with straps on them.

LOL Karen. Love your take on the reevaluate” the doc says he has to do. In all actuality though, the situation has changed from when the eye surgery was scheduled. At the time I saw him in December, it was for a dislocation of the implant. He was goi g to go in and take hold of it and attach it back in place. But this past week, I noticed a change in that If I look up, I can actually see the entire implant floating in my eye and my vision has become really clear as opposed to the hazy film that I was experiencing on and off the past year and a half. . When I told him about it, he looked at my eye with his high powered light thing and said that it has fallen into the back of the eye. That changes the entire scope of things in terms of tbe type of surgery needed and other options. I have an appt. next Friday to assess the situation. I’m sure he will examine my eye in more depth, as I was in the surgery prep area when he checked it and not in his exam room. Then we can discuss where we go from here.

Not sure what is on today’s agenda. Might take a ride to Mackinaw just to get out on the open road and a change of scenery. The “blue ice” as it’s called has been in the straits since the cold snap earlier this month and it won’t last much longer with the mild temps. . It’s a phenomenon that occurs under certain conditions and causes the ice to reflect the light in a certain way, causing it to turn blue. It’s really pretty and attracts a lot of people who want to see it. It’s not a yearly thing. The weather plays a big factor in it. Have a nice day everyone.

I am heading off in about45 minutes to get in line for my second vaccine. The CVS that is providing mine is only about 20 minutes a way and is very organized. I had to have another Covid test yesterday because I am scheduled for another procedure on Monday. This one is a scope and MRI to look at my insides and check to be sure there are no hidden surprises hiding but that the healing has continued.

I may even feel up to scheduling a massage and the chiropractor appointment to check out my back discomfort. I can't say it is related to my Gallbladder anymore. Lark wants me to walk longer than one loop around the yard.....

The snow down here is mostly gone for now and at last I was able to make my own Dog "poop" patrol of the yard. There was mucho poop oh, hidden under that melting snow. In December and January, there hadn't been any snow and twice I paid my cat sitter to come out and pick up the poops when I was barely making it off the couch...... Friends that like animals are precious.

stay well, stay safe and carry on......

Good morning, Sue! Really enjoyed reading your information about the seasons. Sorry to hear about your eye problems! I had never before heard of a implant coming loose. I don't like the sound of that. I have implants in both eyes, they have been in there for maybe fifteen years, and have never given me a problem.

Hope there is an easy fix for this. Please keep us posted.

Tina! So very glad that you are continuing to improve, and to get some of your energy back. Sending prayers your way that your healing continues without any surprises.

Morning All, same ole here. I stick close to home on weekends since more people out and about. I guess it will be a way of life. Beach traffic is horrendous on weekends during the summer. Locals are trapped in their home since traffic clogs every roadway . There are two spans across the bay now and the government intends to build a third next to the other two. Not sure how they expect our roads to handle even more traffic. I will worry about that tomorrow. Tina, your social life now revolves around medical appointments. Glad the pups are there to help. Bending is exercise. :) Be safe

Good morning. I was up at O dark thirty for some reason 4am and I was wide awake. So got up made coffee and took the grease off my soup I made yesterday. I had to put the pot outside last night because it wouldnt fit in my fridge LOL it was 35 last night so the grease was firm and removed easily. Then put up 3 1/2 gallons of broth. Saved the rest to make the soup today. Cut up the veggies and let it simmer for about an hour. While drinking my coffee I logged on (just for fun) to local pharmacy at Safeway to see if any appointments in the next few months and BAM 2 appts popped up 7pm and 8pm TODAY. I am thinking there was a cancellation because no other appts available over the next 3 months so hey, I jumped on the 7pm one. Good thing I have no life. And it is right up the street from me, even better. Because I was not going to drive all over God's green earth to get a shot.

Rain off and on all day supposedly. So not sure what the rest of today will bring. I will hang the last blind today because my other 4 have shipped and will be here this week and I can start over LOL

Karen, great news on the Safeway appt. I also awoke early, mainly because I had to be up early yesterday and went to bed early. I checked the temps.... Around 30 then so I convinced my brain it wasn't getting out of bed even if we were awake. It was 40 when I got up, 57 now and should get close to 70 this afternoon. Beautiful and sunny. Not supposed to be windy this afternoon so I promised Ty a good desert walk. If the winds appear, I become a liar.

Tina, it's great to hear of all improvements. Your posts have always brought a smile to my face and still do. I'm sure Lark loves you even when the walks are short, just as Ty quickly forgives me when the winds cut our walks short.

Shirl, I don't miss being away from all that traffic. It's one of my great attractions to the desert west and I'm even complaining that some areas are getting too busy here.

Another do very little day. It is windy but I decided to go fishing. They weren't bitting very much. I let Sugar follow me to the pond and of course she had to roll in some cow piles. I had to hose her down when we got back to the house.

I cooked some of the frozen Salmon pieces with BBQ sauce on them for lunch. Anything to cover the taste but it didn't work. I have finished off the leftovers in the refrigerator so guess I'll have to start on the frozen meatloaf or a TV dinner.

It's only been 2 days of 80 degree temperatures and I have mosquitoes in the house. I haven't noticed any outside but I'm in the house by dark when they really come out.

Tina, hope your test find that you are healing and no more problems. I walk Sugar on a country road and try to keep her from pooping in the neighbors yards. One neighbor has a dog that is free to roam and he likes to use my yard for his bathroom so I don't know why I worry about Sugar pooping in their yard.

not much wind today but suppose to be back tomorrow and Sunday  don't like the wind I think I've said that a great deal... cool enough tonight that the heat is already on the other night it was after 10 PM that I finally turned it on..
went to get my mail had lots of junk mail and 2 envelopes that belonged to someone else but no mailer with my mail in it so when I got out to the truck remembered that the email address was one that is actually on the phone so looked at the tracker it's still in transit wow taking forever when I looked at the tracker when I first got the email saying it had been sent it was due to arrive on Sat... a bit over due :o have a feeling it was due to weather.. so guess I will check the tracker before I make a trip again... went to lunch at at Mexican place in Blythe was really yummy ate outside... then on the Verizon to get a new charger... they no longer carry them advised me to go to some place like Family Dollar ect and get one for a micro... but she cleaned it out and when I plugged it into the old charger figured I'd see if it would work before going to store for a different one.. and it actually felt like it fit and the charging symbol lite up even stayed that way when I moved the cord so it was out of the way... so hopefully it is fixed!!! and will work until I get back north and get my new phone.
so mostly my day was driving ect... came home was so sleepy that I came home and took a nap...
when I got on the computer was a pop up asking if I wanted that site I said no and it went away and now everything is back where I know where it is... :D Yes!!!
so good to hear from you Tina hopefully those test won't find anything surprising...
Judy that blue tape comes in various width's wonder if I have any I have a door that the latch is broken and flaps but I didn't want to use the grey tape whose name has escaped me at the moment aww yes it came duct tape... as it can leave residue and I didn't want the paint to peel from it either... hopefully I will remember to have it fixed when I have other stuff done..
well you all have a good day
hopefully the winds will leave you alone
